People seem to want to play bass with their fingers on most youtube covers, such as this, and that's cool, but there's nothing wrong with playing the bass with a pick. For this song fingers just don't cut it in my opinion. Newsteads' tough, chunky sound can only be reproduced with a pick.

@steve94223 i vary depending on how fast and complicated the song is for example for this song i will use finger picking. but for other things that are faster and change strings a lot like slipknot ill use a pick but yea u r right i does sound different :)

That's right. The best effect give two guitars in my opinion. A and Metallica is the average compositions. They are good, even this simple design as cep "Eneter Sandman," "Master of Puppets" (thanks to google translator that automatically converts to me the song titles to uppercase), strangely similar to "Sad Wingds of Destiny" and together inncyh things, "Thning That thould not be "and the" Ride the Lightning ". The rest of it rubs off unfortunately. IMO boredom, monotony.

@elephants4prez Fingers give a more expressive sound on the bass. Also it opens up opportunities to perform and practise different techniques.

For example with fingers you can switch to tapping chords and using hammer ons for the bass line or you can switch to start playing slap bass then return to picking.

I have nothing against picks...I used to use them till I realised they can seriously limit a bassists potential!

@TheDirector1804 And the body is made out of mahogany. The goth also has a satin finish, which will arguably affect the way it sounds in a positive way. I use to have the regular thunderbird IV and ended up selling it. I bought the goth version a few years later and like it much better.

@TheDirector1804 the only things that are different about the goth model from the regular model is the colour and there are no dots on the fret board like there are on the one in this video. the fret markings are only on the top of the neck
