I agree on the fact that it's just as bad as eating a cow. Now here's the thing why add another animal to the list?? Whale meat is more a luxury item than a necessary food group.
Do you know how they hunt these whales, Sarah? They harpoon the infants. That way the parents stick around and the whalers can catch them. But I digress, you were telling us how it's a benefit to the economy....

They also cut off the fins of sharks and throw them back still alive to drown to make soup. European Parliament called for the establishment of regions of oceans and seas as sanctuaries where whaling for scientific purposes would be banned indefinitely, the IWC moratorium on commercial whaling should be strengthened, and special fishing gear to avoid by-catches should be used in these areas and sonar activities should be restricted.

Japanese whaling ships are not allowed to utilize Australian and New Zealand ports because of the recognition and condemnation by these two nations of Japans unlawful whaling operations. There is no merchant but only a pirate whaling operation.

Well if the Japanese whalers don't want to be stifled, then they should stop perpetrating criminal acts. This was done while the Japanese whalers were whaling in a internationally recognized whale sanctuary. Duh! Sea Shepherd is simply trying to enforce the law. Ever heard of that; "THE LAW"? The Japanese whalers are just a bunch of common criminals and should be treated as such.

The Japanese whaling fleet is targeting endangered and protected whales in an established international whale sanctuary in violation of a global moratorium on commercial whaling. Sea Shepherd is not protesting a legal whaling operation; we are intervening against a whale poaching operation. The poaching of whales in this sanctuary is no different than the poaching of elephants in an African national park except that in Africa the poachers are black, poor and action is taken to stop them.

Also the LRAD where not at fault and the crew was not "disoriented" by them. If you watch the SS video. You can clearly hear orders to don helmets and prepare for an impact. It was intentional and they will be stopped before they kill someone.
