  • I support public finance of elections. That would get the political debates moving in a much more robust direction, third party candidates might actually matter (which is why it will never happen)

  • this is the sucky thing about Capitalism, the Corporations are going to (literally) run the show. So get ready for the take over. Hopefully AIG takes over maybe we could all enjoy bonuses.

  • Looks like Obama has more work to do now. Make laws to block this.

  • I am beginning to hate this fucking country. I'm a vet, teach at a local junior high school, and am literally -- and quickly -- losing faith in this country. What a crock of bullshit.

  • Obama lied in his state of the union address... foreign corps cannot donate money in campaigns!

  • A bright day is upon us. The Supreme Court has expanded democracy by allowing

corporations unlimited election purchasing power. Special interest is the new black.

  • @ConservativeHealth You're either being very sarcastic or very telling of the Conservative mindset.

This ruling - if left unchallenged - will doom the United States to become a corporate oligarchy (moreso than it is already).

All hail the Corporatist Party - the unholy spawn of the GOP and the Tea Party shills who - in their near-sighted desire to undo the Obama Presidency at any cost - sold the United States to the highest bidder.

  • This chick is hott! She is a smokin mulatta

  • Fascist Mussolini-style corporatism has finally made it to America in its mature form. Get ready for fun times in the land of the free to be asleep.

  • wake up people . This is NOT a liberal OR conservative issue. It's a CORE attack on the American People allowing bribe money to be legal Exxon can buy their own President . How can any citizen, dem or repub compete against UNLIMITED funds ? We all know that money corrupts always ! The Builderburg plans is moving along just fine folks.. Our Democracy's years are numbered

  • LOL.. That's why it's so important to protect your financial future.. We have lived in a corporation since the FED was put into place during Wilson's days in office... President Wilson betrayed America.. And no other President will ever try to over turn this because you see what happend to JFK,LINCOLN..Even congress man Louis McFadden was poisened for challenging the FED..

  • Aristocracy at its finest.

  • Idiots like you thinking as they're told to (i.e. with their feet) are actually the only drawback to true democracy...

Idiots like you are the main reason why this SC decision is even a threat since idiots like you are the most vulnerable to advertisement.

  • This 5 to 4 Supreme Ct. Ruling which now allows 'We The Corporate' to invest infinite $ into advertising campaigns for the political candidates of their choice is an abomination. This now allows 'We The Corporate' to smash with Corporate ad campaign$ the chances of any political candidate who might be brave enough to stand up for the interests of We The People, interests which do not mesh with the interests of Globalist Corporations, Corps who are nation-less, soul-less, and who's God is Greed.

  • The new 4th of July is Jan 21st. It's now "The United Corporations of America" This is NO JOKE

  • It's been like this for a long time my friend.. People only started to ask questions when the economy directly affected them...

  • You got a sponsor? That's good! Just hope it doesn't affect the coverage!

  • This is going to be an absolute bonanza for the networks and newspapers.

  • wow usa is so fucked up, I'm so glad I don't live there...

  • The Unions, Hollywood and musicians won't like the competition.

  • The SC rolls over, when told to.

  • the decision has taken all power away from legislature and executive branches. the constitution was written for humans only. this artificial concept of corp is utter silliness.

  • Where are all the Tea Baggers on this? They are all about stopping government run health are but not for corporate run government? What gives?

  • The corporations run the teabaggers.

  • Because the corporations were SO under represented in Washington. NOT.

  • The TV and radio stations are corporately owned...this has been going on for years. The little guy needs to come up with the cash to compete. That's why Congress if Fubar.

  • wow, what a shock... A Court appointed by those who were sponsor by corporations. Now it's even easier for corporations to give money to whichever puppet they want to win the next election. Big Corp, which are own by Big banks have basically shown that they rule all. look at all the puppets they have appointed as figure heads.

  • REVOLUTION.

  • Worse Supreme Court Judgment in the last 100 yrs. Now Big corps will truely own America..

  • Say hello to Fascism!

  • That's no fascism, they just voted the law of the jungle... Jungle has nothing to do with fascism...

  • The law of the jungle results in fascism. The strong entities will simply steamroll everybody else.

It is literally the Italian version of fascism.

  • Agreed, Jungle may lead to fascism but as opposed to fascism this system isn't forced on anyone, people actually like it since the ads (and media in general) is what controls what they like or not... e.g. capitalism serves merely 20% of the us population and still the other 80% believe that system is the best for them. I wouldn't call that fascism since even if laws were voted by referendum (meaning true democracy), people would vote almost the same way. So (representative) democracy =/= fascism

  • Great, now we get to watch how the conservative media in the U.S. will pass this off to the very people who will be screwed over by this decision as one that is good for them and for their country, much the the frustration of the rest of the world. As if the rest of the world didn't know before, but it now knows beyond a shadow of a doubt that the U.S. is wholly owned by corporate America. Get ready for more illegal wars, no action on global warming, and a much more dangerous world. Yee-hah!

  • there is no hope for america.

  • You think there was corruption before, you haven't seen shit!

What a bunch a dick sucking, low lifes the supreme justices are. This case will prove to be the last straw needed for complete corporate takeover of the US/world.

    Pieces of shit Sad day.

  • i actually think the same thing....mb not right away - but as they expand their influence to make more money, they will then have more money to influence...to make more money..etcetc

  • "We, the people..." are absolutely be represneted by on one. As it is now, corporate America and special interests pretty much call all of the shots. Now, they are going to be calling all of the shots. We are all going to be slaves to the federal government and non person entities.

  • we were already slaves before, this just made it official. no more red take and half-ass denial

  • We are going to be part of the chain-gang, whereas before we had some freedoms. Not now, we are screwed. Our only salvation is to vote everyone out of office. Get rid of everyone of them while we can still vote.

  • Hey, what's the interviewers name? I was trying to reference her in a short piece, and it seemed kind of weird to refer to her only by her first name, haha.

  • Fascism should rightly be called Corporatism, as it is the merger of corporate and government power. - Benito Mussolini

  • I like this new woman more and the other guy. She makes this channel sound nicer.

  • I like Paul better, because he's tough on the people he's interviewing. He knows his stuff and will call people on it if something they say doesn't fit. He would have pressed the guy about the fact that the corporations will benefit from this far more than the unions and non-profits he's focusing on. We need more of that.

  • The new gal seemed a bit out of her depth, but she's pleasant to look at.

  • Congressman Alan Grayson of FL has proposed 5 bills to reign this bullshit in. Check out his site.

  • So how close are we to fascism? I mean honestly, our government demonstrates time and time again they favor the 'corporate entity' over the people, and even that corporations can be viewed as 'individuals' is fascistic

  • We're most likely just one big false flag away from the police state.

  • I don't think there's any need for a police state, this doesn't even need to get worse, it already gives SO much power and shows how much power corporations already have to be able to make that law available for themselves.

  • 10 years away. thats what most historians and political thinkers are saying. its going to get bad. you need to think about leaving before its to late. i am not going to be an american for long now. unless this decision is going to be over turned.

  • mmm sexy news.

  • Keep in mind when I say this that I'm on the libertarian right.

This court decision requires a constitutional amendment. It is just that much of a disaster. It makes me sick to my core.

  • i libertarians are incorrect in there beliefs and i disagree with most of what you guys say, but this decision makes me want to vomit. i like the fact that we can all agree about this subject. if everyone works together on a issue that we all can agree on, we might be able to stop the destruction of the democracy. this decision is the worst thing to happen sense watergate. no its worse.

  • @thesparitan

I am a progressive and I agree with you 100%

  • i am a anarchist and i agree with the tea parties now. conservatives liberals communist, socialist, christians, atheist, everyone that cares about there beliefs need to fight this thing and do it together. next time i talk to a conservative, i wont say there stupid, i am just going to tell them about this supreme court bullshit

you should talk to everyone you know about. if we can create unified outrage at this decision, we can stop the destruction of the democracy of the united states

  • @kmg501

Most of these polticians don't give a dam about the constitution. It is toliet paper to them.

  • @captcrais101

I agree, that is the heart of the problem. Both the neo-cons and liberal progressives have destroyed this country by shitiing on the constitution every chance they get. Time is growing very short for us. The only way to save ourselves is to force state governments to enact the full weight and force of the tenth amendment leading to serious threats of secession. Only then will the federal government be reigned back in and the proper place of the constitution restored.

  • Well allrighty then! My vote is now for sale and not for free! Adopt this way of thinking and lets see how deep corporate pockets are! Who will start the bidding? My vote starts at $60,000 ( the amount I paid in taxes under Bush). Come on who will start the bidding?

  • But WE are still limited. Thanks again. The turds keep comming, Duck.

  • None of you can complain.

Not when some of us been trying to tell you why the Justice system is broken & you all want to play the "freedom of religion" card.

I believe in FoR, but when we have 6 of 9 Supreme Court Justices that are Roman Catholic and 4 of those are Opus Dei...

what the fuck do you expect?

But take a look at 2 of the other 3 that arent Roman Catholic...

Ginsberg is married to a Jesuit Professor from Georgetown. Breyer is Jesuit awarded from Santa Clara.

    The problem is obvious.

  • What is Opus Dei?

  • Roman Catholic uber conservative secret order.

They were portrayed in the Da Vinci Code.

The albino was a member of Holywoods version of Opus Dei.

    Alito, Roberts, Scalia, and Thomas.

And now the latest Roman Catholic addition Sotomayor was Belizean Grove, which is the female equivalent of the Bohemian Grove, which are nothing but a bunch of global elitists.

And the Groves Patron Saint is Jesuit in origin, Saint John of Nepomuk.

It sounds like conspiracy stuff, but this is all too real.

  • And before you ask, Jesuits are another Order of Roman Catholics that have been behind acts of terrorism since the 16th Century.

They killed King Henry VIII and thats why he cried out MONKS!MONKS!MONKS! right before he died.

Then they attempted to kill Queen Elizabeth in several plots, like the Ridolfi and Babington Plots.

Then they tried to kill King James in the Gunpowder Plot.

And they were instrumental in the deaths the assassinations of Lincoln and JFK and there are proofs of this.

  • We MUST end the unconstitutional legal doctrine of Corporate personhood NOW

    Corporations are not people.

  • Violence is probably the worst way to go about solving this. In the past, governments had no qualms with slaughtering dissidents.

  • Hopefully this will inspire more people to distrust the hierarchy. In this way it could be a good thing in the long run.

  • This is bad. This is very, very bad.

  • :02

McClatchy has a rather interesting pyramid shape symbol, eh?

  • @FOBmuzungu And?

  • @DanMorgan98

...and...the pyramid is the esoteric victory symbol of the Luciferian cult

  • @FOBmuzungu Lol! And?

  • oh wow...

  • This is not in the best interest of the United States and will lead to more power and corruption by big business. The US government and its branches of power including its highest court has already been infiltrated and seriously corrupted so this ruling by them just helps broaden the corruption and manipulation for our future.

  • This interview is sub par for therealnews. Like the corporate press, this speaker gives the impression that labor unions and environmental organizations will gain as much from this decision as corporations.

  • I see comments from ppl in the EU that Real News is blocked there, (mostly UK). Can anyone verify this?

  • I can guarantee you that that is not true.

  • thanks for covering this

  • @americanjedi77 it happened.

  • why is the reporter so excited about US's plunge into ever more consuming fascism?

  • Plutocracy U.S.A.

  • Next thing you know, corporations like... say... hmm Blackwater, will be able to vote.. Since "a corporation = a person" Any one see a problem with that? Even if you are a conservative person, you have to agree it's wrong....

  • the gov will take this down. sorry.

  • "Those people who are not governed by G-D will be ruled by tyrants."

    William Penn

  • Um, "God-ordained" right to rule or just being "chosen by God to lead the people" has been the justification of many tyrants since before the beginning of recorded history. In fact, more tyrants have *used* God to justify their rule than tyrants who *haven't*. God was also used to justify slavery and the genocide of the Native Americans. Beware any person political movement that uses God to justify themselves.

  • Any there was PLENTY of that b.s. going on before 1913 too.

  • 1913 just turns the US into a 3rd world dung heap as planned.

  • :S Please go visit a 3rd world dung heap before drawing such a comparison.

Yes, quality of life in America has been declining the past few decades. But it's declining everywhere else too, thanks to the same corporations pulling stuff here. So unless you're living on the streets or in total abject poverty, the divide between what it's like living in a 3rd world country and living in America is still the same distance. I'm pretty low income, and still recognize I have at least a 2nd world life.

  • :S Please go visit a 3rd world dung heap before drawing such a comparison.

Been around the world India was disgusting so is Cuba their society is imploding. (go to any city in the world)

You may be 2nd world now but I would argue Detroit sure looks like Havana.

You only care about yourself you don't care if your fellow taxpayers are living in tents do ya.

  • I've lived in a tent, so I do know what I'm talking about. And I do care, very much. Yes, there is a percentage of the population that is homeless or living in abject poverty, and that needs to change, but if you have clean water, electricity, a toilet, and can buy a sufficient amount of food, you're already a hundred times better off than many people in 3rd world countries. The majority of this country at least has that. Most have far more. Our idea of poor is skewed.

  • standards of living is rising in China and the rest of the developing world. It's the west with it's over-regulation and corporate socialism that is in the decline!

  • @denisonM

It's rising for a small percentage of China's population, the middle and upper classes, people with connections to or relationships with those corporations. But for the rural farmers and peasants it's getting worse as their land is stolen, reduced, polluted, rezoned, etc... There is now a permanent nomadic population in China from all the peasants who were thrown off their land so it could be given to corporations.

  • Both America and China are examples of corporate socialism: business, military, and government in cahoots to the detrement of the lower classes. This is happening almost all over the world. A few Latin American countries are the only places I'm aware of that are successfully resisting some of this. This is where the U.S. government funds coups.

  • There's nothing 'socialist' about what you just described.

  • People, if you disagree, at least say *why*! Doesn't do anyone any good to dismiss something unless you provide evidence to the contrary.

  • There are no 'lower classes' in socialism, let alone business as a political force.

Anyway, I agree with most of what you said in this video.

If I may, I would advise you not to argue with ol' boots, (s)he's a lunatic.

  • boots920, It's been headed that way for a long time.

  • Welcome to the Corporate Socialist States of America!

New American Fascism, here we come.

  • You do realize that fascism and socialism are opposites right? Fascism is corporate control of government. Socialism greatly restricts capitalist systems weakening the power and influence of corporations; if corporations exist at all.
