I have come to equate MLM companies with new cults/religions where the goal is to recruit unsatisfied people. You people should try to market a business yourselves by providing a service or good that can benefit the fellow man. I have owned four conventional companies and no matter how hard people worked, there was a limit as to the money I could pay them, based on the job's market value, benefits packages etc. The world changed forever on September 18, 2008, when Hank Paulsen told us the economy was trashed. People can no longer count on working for a company. The smart person goes into business for him/herself.

One last comment, the one who makes money in MLM is the one at the top of the organization, meaning the owner who is the capstone in the pyramid who reaps all the glory like in the son in heaven. MLM is great if you can get in early, recruit a bunch of suckers by promising the pie in the sky, making money, and getting out before it collapses. The problem with Xocai is that it is very expensive! One little piece (about the size of a cordial cherry) costs about 2 bucks. I checked out the site. Who can afford that in today's economy?

I think the reason it is so expensive is that their are too many levels of distributors to pay to. Now you talk about over head huh!! I really wish it was priced more competetively and then I would help support my mother who is involved with this business. I think it is more of a specialty product but its really hard to sell to retailers which is where the real money would be. Instead this appears to be just another over priced mlm product. I hope I am wrong for my mothers sake.

Two comments: the cost of Xocai is less per pound than Godiva. Two the cost would be more if it was Retail -- the money needed to advertise etc. You should take a closer look at the dynamics of both Retail and MLM regarding product distribution --. I think you will find that MLM to be the best vehicle.

1.How many people actually buy Godiva. Not a helluva alot, and the majority of those that do only buy it on special occasions and not on a continual monthly basis especially now in the current economy.2.How can you say that it would cost more if it was retail. You mean if Wal-mart orders millions of boxes of it they can't give the customers a better price? The problem with MLM is that their are too many distribution levels and thats y its expensive period.

What value is provided to the customer of having to pay multiple commissions to many distributors from just one sale? The less middlemen the better off all consumers are. Xocai has one advantage, and that is its uniqueness, but be aware where there is profit their will eventually be competition, and in a competitive market MLM doesn't stand a chance. I believe in a referral system and it makes good business sense but too many levels of commissions results in inflated pricing.

@VIG74....No wrong....it cost closer to a dollar which is the same general price as quality gift chocolates which are not healthy for you with the chemicals and fillers :( Like most other safe and healthy food you pay more for something with more value....in this case you pay no more for Xocai than for many inferior kinds. It might not be cheap but it is worth it. What is your health worth?
