  • I wish I could have seen Johnny before he passed away.

  • Awesome!

  • They don't make em like they used too!!

  • yep

  • Can't think of any other instance where as much talent came together to form a band that stuck together for a time period. Between the four of these guys, it's unreal the amount great music they out out as a band and individuals. Sure wish I could have seen them play.

  • good ol boys love them

  • I want a Willie Nelson Day and a Waylon Jennings Day and a Johnny Cash Day and a Kris Kristofferson Day and many others.

  • i love this music

  • <3

  • I would never trade any of these guys they together formed this band and any missing part would be irreplaceable I am just glad I can come here and watch such fantastic talent

  • Always loved this song...much nostalgia

  • i think in one of their songs they have a line who will replace them. now you know that no one can replace these great talents and great guys.

  • i would trade willie and kris to have waylon and johnny back

  • how do you develop excellence by hanging around excellence that is how

  • goosebumps ride on

  • thank you for instilling excellence in the american dream

  • How can 222 nutters not like this

  • love it!

  • @Superman5s shut up, Willie is a freakin' legend.

  • Kris - Genius

    John - Poet

    Waylon - Amazing vocals

Willie - well every band needs a side kick...

  • STRONG ISLAND

  • What an amazing collection of talent on one stage. God Bless them all - living and dead. We will remember them.

  • Dont deny it. Every one here wants to hang out with those legends for just five minutes

  • You know, oldsters still gush about the Rat Pack (Sinatra, Sammy Davis, Dean Martin) but this collaboration eclipses those guys. The Traveling Wilburys are their only equal.

  • New World Order 0 Ron Paul 10

  • RON PAUL 2012

  • While you-tube surfing today I learned something I can scarcely believe. Kris Kristofferson, Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson, and Merle Haggard are NOT members of the Grand Ole Opry. How can five of the GREATEST country artists not be worthy of membership in the Grand Ole Opry? Yet Josh Turner and Carrie Underwood are? I will no longer view the Opry as a measure of success in country music.

  • @dartsharkbob really? i will do some research... but wow wtf right? all of todays country music sucks ass ... its more like pop country

  • They don't make em like that any more that's for sure.

Living legends that always kept both feet on the ground.

  • The emotion, intensity and depth of this song crosses all genres . . . he that hath an ear, let him hear!!!!!!

  • Check out the turn that Cash takes towards the microphone at 2:01. Fucking badass.

I mean look at the guys he's on the stage with, then the crowd goes wild when he starts his piece. What's that say about Johnny Cash?

  • Judging by Stastics, it seems we have 221 deaf people on youtube, they want lyrics...so arnt happy !

  • this is without a doubt the epitome of greatness thank you thank you and thaNK YOU i ve been listening to this one over and over and over thank you

  • los años pasan y estas canciones perduran, orgullosos deberian estar al pensar que siempre lo recordaran

  • Kris Kristofferson said in interviews that in the beginning, he had a hard time believing he deserved to be in the same stage as Cash, Nelson, and Jennings since they were the ones he himself idolized when he started out as a janitor at Columbia (and Cash was the big name on the label) the irony is that today any country artist like Toby Keith and Keith Urban who has the honor to sing alongside Kristofferson would have the same feelings (same with Wilie Nelson.) R.I.P Waylon and Johnny Cash.

  • this WAS the era when music truly was music...

  • These guys are incredible. This tour should have been called, "Nashville - Kiss My Redneck Ass!"

  • this was the greatest country western band of all time!!! they will always be around and around and around and around and around

  • I've always thought this supergroup was amazing... but, am I the only one who thinks it would have been really cool if George Jones was in it too??

  • increible cancion, me emociona el country, que grande johnny...

  • Einfach klasse - simple the best !!!

  • train by day, podcast by night, all night JOE ROGAN SON!

  • Being from Waylon's hometown, I had the joy of seeing him many times, as well as Willie, and Johnny. There will never be others close to these legends. I still see Waylon's family, and the impact he made here. One of my true idols.

  • love this video

  • when i go to heaven im guessing i will probably see the high waymen all standing singing i am still alive ! and when jesus returns they will be back again with him !

  • the highwaymen are the drops of rain, always there, known around the world, and will remain forever.

  • This song always hits an emotional chord in me. So great.

  • love this song live, best group ever, cant get enough of them

  • Fantastic!!!

  • Listen to that crowd when Cash starts to sing his part!!!

  • these 4 are classics and i want to thank them over and over and over again. thank you.

  • This song is sad and uplifting at the same time.

  • It's funny the things people will say to get thumbs up, yea sorry legandxdominate.

  • I'm 15 and listen to nothing but Classic Country ,all because of my Grandfather. He raised me with my grandmother. He died on the third of November of 2011. Was one of the nicest gentlemen you would ever meet,he died at the age of 83 i loved him with all my heart and still do.I cry almost every night. He was the best father ever.I ask myself will i ever get tired of crying everynight. He was never ever mean to me.We had the best of times together.Cant listen to Wille Nelson,Ray Price, without crying

  • I aint country but I love country music!!

  • Now THAT is Fucking country music, unlike today!

  • I was born in the wrong era. :(

  • 4 of the best

  • super

  • i am 17 years old, i have the long island concert on DVD, but it is just no substitute for the real thing..

unfortunately i am in a generation that is completely unaware of the true music that made the 20th century..

this is one of the 3 minutes of live music i would most love to revisit.

  • Country legends.

  • Absolute Class!!!

  • whoever was in the audience that night- will never see a concert like that again.. legends !!!!

  • How did the stage not collapse under the combined weight of all that talent and genius? Absolutely sublime.

  • Justin who? The talent here is so sublime and unequaled.

  • Cash:

I fly a starship across the Universe divide.

And when I reach the other side,

I'll find a place to rest my spirit if I can.

Perhaps I may become a highwayman again.

Or I may simply be a single drop of rain.

    But I will remain.

And I'll be back again, and again, and again, and again, and again

  • Jennings:

I was a dam builder across the river deep and wide.

Where steel and water did collide.

A place called Boulder on the wild Colorado.

I slipped and fell into the wet concrete below.

They buried me in that great tomb that knows no sound.

    But I am still around.

I'll always be around, and around, and around, and around, and around

  • Kristofferson:

I was a sailor. I was born upon the tide.

And with the sea I did abide.

I sailed a schooner 'round the horn to Mexico.

I went aloft and furled the mainsail in a blow.

And when the yards broke off they said that I got killed.

    But I am living still.

  • Nelson:

I was a highwayman. Along the coach roads I did ride.

With sword and pistol by my side.

Many a young maid lost her baubles to my trade.

Many a soldier shed his lifeblood on my blade.

The bastards hung me in the spring of twenty-five.

    But I am still alive.

  • great......:)

  • Brilliant!! now time for home made Pizza

  • My dad had this Willie Nelson CD... When I was a child, he used to take me in his arms and dance this song with me :)

  • Look at it this way, 10 years from now, the Horsemen will still be getting views and Justin Bieber wil be a "who?" to the 15 year olds at that time, and those that "love him today, will grow up and understand what it is to listen to Willie and the boys. This video is so damned good, it can't be described to anyone who doesn't appreciate sincerely great music and what true entertainers are.

  • @bronxboy1952

untrue. the pop heros of the 80's and 90's and 00's still stand strong

    Happy New Year 12

  • @Mindbender05 I've heard of Justin Bieber surely.Have I any interest in his music...No. My brother introduced me to this song and hence my love for the Highwaymen was born.

Happy new year to all. Just back from new years celebrations and what a way to ring in the new year - listening to the Highwaymen!

  • @1stCondi

nah, the people that viewed bieber and his ilk will be on to better things in a short time, while fans of the greats like the highwaymen will still remember how good they were for many years to come.

  • @1stCondi Atleast Justin Bieber has more dislikes! (Just to comfort you)

  • Big 4

  • got the 4 disc dvd of this concert...all in wide screen... its fecking brilliant..the best country music...rip waylon and johnny

  • Did Johnny play Eve Online?

  • waylon is better than all of them... his voice is incredible

  • classic :)

  • 218 people are too shallow to know what a highwayman really is. and btw FUCK YOUR MOTHER!!!

  • This is COUNTRY music, unlike today!

  • i heard this in school for ELA class

  • Beautiful song performed by true masters. google reptiliansinthematrix for a site which explains the theory that many famous people in politics, business and entertainment are reincarnated into a continuation of whatever they were into in a past life. According to the site Willie Nelson was Albert Pike, Kristofferson was Rasputin's mentor. No info on Waylon Jennings or Johnny Cash. If this theory has any validity it would sure put an interesting spin to the lyrics of this song....

  • johnny's verse still blows me away, i wonder if he is up there somewhere flying that star ship? brings a tear to my eye. love that man.

  • I grew up listening to Waylon from my dad, hated this song when I was a kid but love it now! Times change!

  • I've seen Kris and Willie in concert. The two other Highwaymen left us too soon. This DVD (Highwaymen Live!) is a treat to all country fans! Nice capture of these great musicians before their comebacks in the mid-nineties (as if they ever went away).

  • WHISTLER!!

  • willie, johnny, waylon, kris your are the best may you be reunited all together in heaven where you will be with your music x

  • ohh man..this is just amazing

  • Man it sends chills up my back hearing johny sing

  • Well... Anyone got a timemachine?? Please say yes D:

  • @ThaWolf24 Jump in my Tardis. We'll go for a jaunt.

  • i like how johnny didnt even try, but still pwnd

  • hhahhaha.. MOTHER OF GOD !!!!! who the fuck can dislike this plethora of talent all in one place.....???? May a thousand tse tse flys infest your ball hairs !!!! You assholes are morons.....fuck....

  • aww yeah! this video redefines widescreen as we know it... great performance though

  • I used to be a highwayman then i took an arrow to the knee

  • i agree

  • If you don't like talent, if you don't like good country music, then just leave the site, no need to press dislike, in my mind there is no dislike to these great musicians

  • yes alot

  • why is this stuff not on the radio anymore

  • is this played slightly faster ?? it seems to pass much more quickly

  • @redhaisee yes alot

  • This song is way too short!!! Want more :(

  • Love em all but Waylon is the man

  • i was just born to late i guees. what some great singers

  • 218 ppl were hung in the spring of '25

  • @XxDrSNYPExX I don't know if they were, but they should have been.

  • @XxDrSNYPExX and they arent still alive.

  • @XxDrSNYPExX im still hung ;)

  • @XxDrSNYPExX :D

  • They're all so talented, but I have to say that Willie Nelson is my favourite. There's something very sincere but strong about him that I love. He's like the sweet old grandpa that would defend his family against anyone no matter how old he was.

  • 217, shame ON YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Fucking Awesome! Somebody said they don't make em like they used to.....boy were they right!

  • THE HORSE RIDING SONG........ I listen to this one everyday....

  • Let's give credit where credit is due...This sng was written by the great Jimmy Webb for his four good friends...

  • This song is about 345,655 minutes too short

  • I'm a person who is glad to be born when they were. I live in the moment and don't take the present for granted. But God I'd give just one day to see Johnny Cash live. I'm too young to have ever had the chance.

  • @xxJBLADExxXtream me too. my parents saw him, but i wish i got a chance before he passed.

  • @xxJBLADExxXtream same here, Blade, I would so have loved to see him perform live, but thank God, they have left their legacy their fantastic music to us, pass it on to your friends, my sons are only just now apprecating how great they were! Bless you.

  • @xxJBLADExxXtream full marks for contradicting yourself...it's people like you who shouldn't be granted the present. a long time ago, your mother made a big mistake.

  • @MrCrazyb23 I love how you try and get all personal with me, talking about my mother when I didn't even insult you. It shows how low you are. lol thanks for the confidence booster though bro. You disgrace all four of these men just by being so ignorant. Please leave and stop defacing these legends. Idiot.

  • @xxJBLADExxXtream i'm the idiot!? look who's getting personal...mr "i didn't even insult you". you use Gods name in vain, then you hop on about how happy you were born when you were, despite not being able to see the great johnny cash, and then talk about how you would give it all up! so you do resent the fact you were born when you were! i'm not defacing these legends, because i understand and comprehend the english language with all its grammar. ignorant!? man you are funny!!

  • @MrCrazyb23 Cool story bro. Too long, didn't read. And btw, it looks like you got a bit mad. So cute.

  • @xxJBLADExxXtream full marks for contradicting yourself again!! "cool story...?" but "too long i didn't read it...?!" some people...got to love this, has anyone ever said you should be a stand-up? more a slapstick / surreal type...the amount of juxtapositions you can come up with in one sentence would have people off their seats!! dude!! so so funny!

  • @MrCrazyb23 Has anyone ever told you to shut the fuck up and get a life? Hey dude, even if you 'win' this argument on 'Youtube' you still look like an idiot with a huge stick in your ass. I know you're gonna have some lame no life witty but corny remark to this so just for your sake, I'd like you to know you'll be talking to yourself. Because now I'm gonna stop responding to an idiot, and listen to the music of a genius. Have a nice day in Hell. Full marks for contradicting myself ;P

  • @xxJBLADExxXtream "stick in my ass...?" what my actually cheeks...which one? or both! is it both!? or did you mean 'up' my ass...? as regards to ME being an idiot, that is very rich...or did you not comprehend my earlier comments of how you struggle to make sense in a sentence? i guess you wouldn't...ah never mind. i know i'll be reading of your death from dysentery in the local paper some day. shame, the comedy value is through the roof right now! wouldn't want it to just go like that.

  • @MrCrazyb23 Full marks for contradicting yourself. You talk about grammar yet you're quoting someone incorrectly. His sentences didn't have three periods followed by a question mark. Also, you say his comment is rich, but then you say his comment is grammatically incorrect. That makes no sense. Then you answer your own question, making your question invalid. Then, you make an outrageous statement that you'll be reading about his death, even though you don't know who he is. You lack logic.

  • @ThatDaveDavidson regards to the quote, i know, i just prefer to write it out that way so a moron can see it clearer. secondly, which comment are you talking about...? he called me an idiot...only an idiot contradicts themselves over and over...hence it being rich. i never mentioned this comment as grammatically incorrect. YOU make no sense. thirdly, i answered the question, because he wouldn't and properly couldn't answer. death comes to us all. it's a joke, only stupid people could die of that

  • @MrCrazyb23 Valiant try but now you're just making excuses. I thought this might be fun but it seems you're just desperate for some sort of attention. Family issues I suppose. Also fairly cute using transition words like secondly and thirdly. You're typing a comment not an essay. Haha its just childish. You must be young, so the silver lining is you still have time to mature son. Good day. Oh by the way, remember to capitalize letters after a period. And 'I' is always capitalized.

  • @ThatDaveDavidson :D bye bye

  • @ThatDaveDavidson did you ever hear the song, YOU MUST BE A TIRED OLD FART? and I suspect an English teacher. well dot my apostrophy...

  • I got to see Johnny Cash in Albuquereque in 68.

Pkg show with the Statler Bros, Sonny James and Red Sovine ...

  • @xxJBLADExxXtream I agree on that, I've always saw my father listening to them in his truck or car :) So i kinda grew up with it hehe... but yea would be very cool to see them perform again, specially Johnny Cash :)

  • I think the room temp just dropped 20 degrees, because I just got the chills........

    Greatest talent ever assembled........

  • These Highwaymen are wayyy HIGH men, ........ and that's great........

  • I feel honor sitting here hearing these masters of talent.
