Kris Kristofferson said in interviews that in the beginning, he had a hard time believing he deserved to be in the same stage as Cash, Nelson, and Jennings since they were the ones he himself idolized when he started out as a janitor at Columbia (and Cash was the big name on the label) the irony is that today any country artist like Toby Keith and Keith Urban who has the honor to sing alongside Kristofferson would have the same feelings (same with Wilie Nelson.)
