@myhamsterpeesalot ok that was me before i tried it this sucks my nails are a disaster the things dried in about two seconds i didnt even have time to open another bottle before it was ruined!!!! i was soooo excited..... now they look horrible i tried to wash it off but it dried too fast and wont come off with nail polish remover thanks alot!!! >:(((
@myhamsterpeesalot Use room-temperature distilled/filtered water. If the water is tap water or is too warm or cold, the polish won't spread right. Don't use metallic nail polish, nail polish that is too thick, glitter nail polish, polish that is too old, or fast-dry polish. Don't drop the polish from too high of a height. If the polish just globs and doesn't spread in the whole bulls-eye then start over. It won't work if one blob is in the middle. It takes practice to find what brands work.
@TutPedia It may work for you but for most people it won't, it's best to stick with distilled or filtered water when you're starting out just to be safe. :)
you forgot to say to put tape around your finger but NOT around your nail so the nail polish doesn't get on you skin so it will be easier and quicker to clean any mistakes with a q tip and nail polish... you can use duct tape ( not recommended) or scotch tape ( highly recommended ) and it will work then when you talk it out of the water just let it dri and then gently peel the tape from your skin
@leegameplayz you take out the brush wait for a drip to come off from two or more colours then move a toothpick in there to make the marble pattern and dip ur finger in :)
All of my colors dry as soon as they go into the water. There is no time to put a design in them with the toothpick. What brand of colored polish do you use?
the hardest part is getting the water just right. i've done marbling a few times and some were way better than others. when you do actually get it right it's worth all the frustration.
love this one! theyre all amazing but this one is DEF my fave...i redid the Pink, black, white, and glitter marbled ones and they turned out great! i left out the glitter but it still looked okay(: its a very neat design and surprisingly easy!
Do you have to continue putting more drops of polish in the water each time or do you just use the polish you used on your first nail for all your nails?
I have been into DIY nail art [real nails not the fake acrylic stuff] for about 15 years and am always interested in new ideas and new designs. I can't believe I've never seen this before. Gonna try it when I'm at home cos it looks amazing!!
i just dont understand, when i drop the polish into the water it doesnt spread and then it congeals into this horrible mess and even if it does work when i take my finger out the water it has just a huge thick blob of polish which feel disguting and is impossible to scrub off :( I dont know where im going wrong please help!!
i think thats the coolest thing i've ever seen... so i tried it, and i even used a thermometer to make sure the water was 71 degrees F, but then it dried to fast. lol
i did this last night and i love the result, some of them look a bit bad like a big splash of colours but i think theyre nice, i found it hard to move the colours around but with practice itll be nice
i had the same problem like mystic2985..my colours didn't spread just left a dot...what is the perfect temperature..???i can't really understand and i want this very much!!it's so pretty!!!!
i had the same problem like mystic2985..my colours didn't spread just left a dot...what is the perfect temperature..???i can't really understand and i want this very much!!it's so pretty!!!!
this nail design is amazing.,,but i have a question.you sad i have to clean up the surface of the water before i remove my finger.,.but i don´t understand what you mean.,while my fingers is in the water did i have to remove the nail polish out of this water or.,..i hope you can help me and understand my question and my englisch is not so bad
Marbling is really easy. It doesn't work well with all my polishes, but it works well when I use OPI and Nicole by OPI. It didn't work well with sparkliy polishes for me.

i did this last night. it is amazing. ive been spreadin the word about water marbling. i will post a link of the results. i didnt use tape but it was ok. messy without tape but it worked! love it. everyone loves them
I love the colours you have used in your water marbling videos. I have not seen it done on natural nails like this before, only on tips and I always wondered about cleanup on natural nails. The tape is a great idea. I assume you tape all the way around your finger? Have you ever tried anything else other than tape, like perhaps using vaseline or something like that? Also, do you just do one nail at a time or have you tried doing two at once?
@pamheil I do tape all around my finger. I actually tape all the way down to my hand, lol! As for trying anything else, a lot of people like to use vaseline or oils, but I found that it makes the water cloudy. Therefore, its hard for the polish to stay on the surface. Tape is the best way I have found so far. I do just do one nail at a time because its much easier. You can do all your nails at once, but the nail polish might clump up and not come out as smooth : ) Hope this helps : )
@luxuriousnails Thanks, that helps a lot actually. I hadn't thought of vaseline clouding the water. I will try the tape metheod and let you know how it goes.
@NickiAnn17 It is very important that the water is room temperature. I usually keep some bottles of watcher in my closet for water marbling. That way, they are room temperature : )
okay ive tried this like five times but i CANT do it!!!
i love how it looks and i want to so bad, next time you do a marble video can you please do a video instead of pictures? that would be extremely helpful
