Violent classical music fans...kind of entertaining.
"You can take Tchaikovksy and shove it up your ***!!! When I get diarrhea after eating your's mom caserole, I could just **** on a blank piece of music paper and my watery poo would be more convincing music! YEAHHH!"
are you retarded, classical music was the origin of music violence, long before retarded "rappers" hit the scene. Just look up Bach and Handel, both had sword fights, one of which almost died if it weren't for the sword hitting his button (Handel). One fought over calling his bassoonist a whiny goat, the other over who would play the harpsichord at a concert. LoL.
actually, both Handel and Bach are Baroque composers. Classical music refers to the musical era that existed between 1750 and 1820. Classical era existed in the "age of reason" everyone was gentle and polite. There is no place for violence in music. What rappers do isnt music, its a commercial product. It could never be classified as art.
@elias12186 fully agree that rapping is on a totally different level to Classical Music. All music comes from human beings and each style comes from a different type of consciousness. What consciousness do different styles come from?
"Baroque" is a period OF "Classical Music" in general though there is a "classical period" as well. Sort of how sonata is both a form (sonata-allegro form) and a type of composition (piano sonata, etc). I think there is place for much violence in music and both beethoven and to someo extent mozart expressed it in their works, but neither of which did so as egregiously, unartistically, disgustingly, or insignficantly as today's modern "rappers" (non-artists) do
There could some art in rap. Classical was an inspired refinement of generations of musical development-- the harmonic motifs, twelve-interval equal-temperament, long-evolved and highly-developed forms, etc. It is dubious to consider whether it has ever been truly surpassed, as duly demonstrated by a mere handful of master composer-musicians, the most mindful, mystical, marvelous mastermind of them all probably being Mozart.
Not only was his touch, his ear, his sensitivity extraordinary and inexplicable, but by his thirties, through exposure, travels, studies, his background, serendipity, adventures, interactions, and so on and so on, there was scarcely anyone as musically cultivated, educated and astute. A delightful combination. It's like is was meant to be. It's almost weird to me.
Incorrect Baroque is a musical era in the Common Practice Period. The term "Classical Music" is an erroneous "20th Century" term used by those that have no conception of Musicology.
I'm a violinist and composer and not really a big fan of rap. But I definitely think rap can be classified as art. To some people, they're considered "low art" where as classical music is "high art" (These are old terms. University classrooms don't use these term anymore). It's definitely a commercial product, but all commercial products have their unique aesthetic values. Sometimes the definition of art can be very vague. There's no need to draw a definitive borderline.
Also, you said there's no place for violence in music. How about all the musical drama in operas such as Carmen, Salome, Lulu, and Wozzeck? And ballet such as Rite of Spring and musical such as West Side Story? Does violence really not exist in music?
@azntanan well, the truth is, those opera you're referring to belong to the 19th century and early 20th century, and it's known as the Romantic era, totally different idea to the Classical era
@chem310 Did I ever say that "it's totally same idea to the Classical era?" Of course I know they belong to the 19th century and early 20th century. I'm only responding to the argument of "there's no place for violence in music," not "there's no place for violence in Classical era music." And you missed one thing. Lulu and Wozzeck don't belong to the Romantic era, neither does Rite of Spring and West Side Story.
Fellas, please!

@chem310 yeah, but there's plenty of violence, betrayal, death, rape and destruction in Classical and Baroque operas.
There's a reason they call them soap OPERAS.
It's not because they're about soap.
