Good questions. ESX's limitation is that it allows for only 2 keyboard parts. Running two machines in synch with each other doubles that. Essentially you can write a track with 4 melodies running at once, creating a big body sound. You can also use the machines sort of as turntables. During a live performance you can continuosly introduce your next track in synch to the beart of the one already being played.

the esx has a huge limitatio. cant bring sounds into machine. you are forced to use the bank of patches it comes with.
