can you please show me from the begining i am new at this and i am trying to make a rug like you are but im using t shirt yarn - i had made peg loom but my pegs were to far apart so im startin over - you are so far the only person that i can find makin a rug that big on a peg loom - i would like to learn from you if that is possible thanks so much - happiness_purple hotmail
For those of you who are asking, check out the video by iklik6 on "How to weave on a peg loom." (I can't get the link to work here.)
The technique being demonstrated there looks very much like this one, just on a narrower piece of fabric. Knitterpated, feel free to correct me if I'm wrong...
I will keep checking back too. I am very interested in this technique. I hope youre feeling better! If you have a way to explain this technique or have a book you can recommend, please message me privately-otherwise, I have favorited your page and will keep looking for your tutorials. I did find a short clip on how to remove the rug from the pegs as you go, but cannot find it now. Thanks and hope to see more soon! :)
Just a little note to say that I have bought a small video camera and will be making a proper tutorial in September when my son goes back to school and I have more time. I will go through everything from threading to choosing materials and how to weave and finish off.
Thanks for sticking with me and being interested enough to comment.
I would lvoe to see a tutorial of how you actually do that. I've been watching the mastercrafts series on telly and the last one I saw was on weaving. Looms are large and costly - but a peg looms looks like a space efficient and not too costly way to try it out, so I thought I'd try and find out how they work and see if it appeals!
I would love to know how this is done also..I understand a bit, but you seem to have the only video using this kind of "rake" instead of a pegged frame..
I have used a peg loom for a few years but like to know some history and origins. I beleive it is a celtic craft from the Viking era. Can you tell me anymore?
I bought a peg loom today and i can't figure out how to use it:-( It had instructions with it but I am at a loss. I got it for my pals disabled mum to use to keep her occupied. Want to learn it myself first to show her. Please make a tutorial:-)
you are very kind to make tutorial, I'm waiting and I'll follow up with this page, I'd like to make for my house. Do you mind to write your email to write for you? I'll be appriated

What wool are you using as your warp and weft? My husband made me one and I want to use my romney but I wonder how thick to make the yarn as I spin?
