rugmaking on a pegloom

can you please show me from the begining i am new at this and i am trying to make a rug like you are but im using t shirt yarn - i had made peg loom but my pegs were to far apart so im startin over - you are so far the only person that i can find makin a rug that big on a peg loom - i would like to learn from you if that is possible thanks so much - happiness_purple hotmail

For those of you who are asking, check out the video by iklik6 on "How to weave on a peg loom." (I can't get the link to work here.)

The technique being demonstrated there looks very much like this one, just on a narrower piece of fabric. Knitterpated, feel free to correct me if I'm wrong...

Just a little note to say that I have bought a small video camera and will be making a proper tutorial in September when my son goes back to school and I have more time. I will go through everything from threading to choosing materials and how to weave and finish off.

I would lvoe to see a tutorial of how you actually do that. I've been watching the mastercrafts series on telly and the last one I saw was on weaving. Looms are large and costly - but a peg looms looks like a space efficient and not too costly way to try it out, so I thought I'd try and find out how they work and see if it appeals!

I have used a peg loom for a few years but like to know some history and origins. I beleive it is a celtic craft from the Viking era. Can you tell me anymore?

I bought a peg loom today and i can't figure out how to use it:-( It had instructions with it but I am at a loss. I got it for my pals disabled mum to use to keep her occupied. Want to learn it myself first to show her. Please make a tutorial:-)

What wool are you using as your warp and weft? My husband made me one and I want to use my romney but I wonder how thick to make the yarn as I spin?
