@unamonu@skyarsalan was asking me if they still make these episode. I was lucky at that time because I was telling the station if they re-airing that show. It has not been back on the air or four years. @skyarsalan means, for example, every four or five years, the new edition of the textbook is released and the author or the publisher keeps revising and inserting newer information into the textbook. When u compare the latest edition 2 a 30 to 31 year old video, we aren't sure if its accurate.
@jaden2455 You are comparing two different ideas. In the absence of air resistance, all objects fall with the same accel. (Galileo's Law of Falling Bodies) In general, heavier things DO NOT fall faster than lighter things. That effect has to do with an application of Newton's 2nd Law. Air resistance is dependent on mass, speed & shape. It isn't as simple as "heavier things fall faster". Lighter things can actually fall faster given the right parameters.
@jaden2455 Oops...the time required for the cubes to reach the ground should be the same, by Galileo's experiment on gravity, unless air resistance is also taken into account.
When did this series come out? I don't remember it...and it's pretty cool in the way it explains what Physics is...esp. for this old dog...trying to learn new tricks...if you just read your text book...your brain goes numb..and I LOVE science too...

It's a pretty good survey of introductory physics, and the one thing it does that others do not (text books, etc.) is to make you feel like an insider by explaining things like what certain terms are all about, such as fancy sounding terms like inertia being Latin for "laziness" or kinetic coming from the greek word for movement... it doesn't merely whip these terms out as if reading from a text book, and playing at being a "for idiots" tutorial like all the rest.
@prayfertrey i think that if you want to study physics and you want a good grade, you actually study and understand the terms, you don't need to call it lazy. I think its a........thing to call it lazy, this is physics for kids age 10 maximum, to call it lazy, physics its physics not cartoons. This cartoon is bullshit
@prayfertrey AND it dosent throw abunch of symbols you have to memorize along with trying to figure out what the heck the book is talking about...oh boy...makes your head hurt...
Pretty much. Mass also includes Density. The mass in the lead cube is closer together than the other cube. A small thing can be heavy if the mass in the object is closer to itself.
yo i watched the first vid of this in school yester day lol hey ms freemen if your watchin this. and all the kids in class and branden and every one lol.
i dont understand about it

do they still make these.
skyarsalan 8 months ago
@skyarsalan No, this is 30 years old and they don't make these kind of videos anymore.
bubblebear83 8 months ago
@bubblebear83
That's disappointing. I hope all the information is still accurate though. I thought they made it in that old kind of style purposely.
skyarsalan 8 months ago
@skyarsalan I agree. They should make videos like that with accurate information and revised.
bubblebear83 8 months ago
@bubblebear83
There is no need for revision. Things like inertia, mass aso. haven't changed significantly in the last 30 years... :P

@unamonu For four years Excuse my typo.
bubblebear83 8 months ago
4:24-4:34 Wrong. The lead cube has more mass, therefore even if the styrofoam fell first the lead cube should catch up and hit the ground first.

@jaden2455 All things fall at the same speed, it's just heavier things are harder to stop (as it said) giving the illusion the lead falls faster.
