Yes you can connect it to a roof mount monitor but I am afraid that it can not play youtube as it can not connect to the internet. Even it can it has windows CE installed, which does not support flash. flash is needed to watch youtube video's.
OK please click the product link above to get to our home page and search CVJI-E65 to see if it is what you need. If you still have any more questions please contact our customer support at support@chinavasion(dot)come. Thanks
It should if your vehicle accepts universal 2-din (100 mm high) car dvd players. Also please note the dimensions. Once again this are universal car DVD player form factors. We've heard some vehicles have special fitting requirements.

How does the WIFI work on? In order to get the internet working, there must be some gadget act as a router. How does that work while the car is in driving mode? Are you suggesting that we have to park to a place that offer Wifi like McDonald's? Another theory is I have in mind is to have a laptop act and a router on to give wifi internet - which I think is a bit silly having too many hardware in the care, I dont understand the concept and I hope Chinavasion can enlighten us on this....
I have one of these units in my car and connect to a Huawei E5382 mobile Wifi router with a 3G SIM card.
It makes the connection thru the Wifi to the Huawei router and gets internet however this unit is far too slow to browse with. In a word it is unusable practically speaking. I have also connected to a house Wifi router and an iPhone running PDA NET router app, still too slow.
You also must use the touch pen as your fingers will be too big to accurately click the right option on the screen.
You can't hook the radio up to XM (they have their own propitiatory units) However, you would be able to stream internet stations like the one provided by KCRW or Myspace radio
But if you're not technically savvy then consult a professional.
True, hiring a professional is expensive and Chinavasion customers come to us for price so it doesn't make sense to buy a $300 car DVD player and pay some guy $500 + to install the unit.
But...
We're not auto mechanics or installation professionals.
We try to do more than competitors (recently a customer thanked me for answering him because our competitors don't!) but with so many cars, we can't provide accurate advice.
Then there's the liability issue. A car is a pretty expensive thing.
If we do provide advice and it turns out to be wrong, things can go south pretty quickly.
So...if you've bought one of our units (thank you) and are experiencing trouble it, we'll definitely try our best to troubleshoot. If that fails, we'll authorize a return.
Installation advice? Sorry for how cold this sounds but Google is your friend.
I'm planning to purchase 1 of this and install in a brand new Skoda Octavia. the item is come with universal adapter (cage, stirrup, etc) for fit-it smoothly on the dash board ?
@danthetube Why you tried to install it yourself? I know on the chinavasion website it makes it look pretty simple to install it but on something like that I will never try it myself. At the moment I am waiting one of these car dvd and if I ll have the answers when my tech install it for your questions I will reply
@chinavasion Hi, could you please explain whats the difference between 1din and 2din? sorry but im new to all this and would like to purchase a car dvd system, thanks
@sct911 The difference is simple, it is just the size of the radio/sterio/dvd & nothing to do with the performance. '1din' is the standard normal size of about 2 inches height by 7 inches wide, while the '2din' ('double din') is larger in height. Before ordering a 2din just check if it fits your vehicle. Estetically the 2din is nicer . Last thing, some vehices have a tray or a pocket over he sterio/radio compartment and these can even be removed so that a 2din can fit the vehicle.
Regarding the installation, providing you have all the 'infrastructure' it should be a fairly easy process. In fact, we will be putting together a video on how to install car DVD players very soon.
There is built in memory for system files however, external memory for external files, it will support an 8GB SD card so there shouldn't be any problem getting on the media you need.
They have to build a car stereo that does not depend on a hot spot. That will impress me....and ill certainly buy it.

Hi danthetube
Thanks for buying the King Cobra and sorry to hear you're experiencing problems with the unit.
I have asked the product tester, Michael, and his answer is below:
This is probably as good a time as any to talk about our car DVD player support policy.
First, a car DVD player is a pretty sophisticated device and should be installed by a professional.
Is it impossible to install? Absolutely not! If you're technically inclined & have a free afternoon things should go smoothly.

Oh and please also check out some car forums. Just search big-board [dot] com for cars and you should come up with some useful resources.
In saying that though we are in talks with our car DVD suppliers to give us better documentation which should make installation easier.
Cheers
