  • This is a real floor-filler, if ever there was one!

Actually I'm just watching because I like Zak Sally's comix and wanted to check out the creative fruits of his earlier career....and I must say I like his solo music a lot better. I don't know how much input he had in Low music but they're pretty different, stylistically.

  • @kezz1zel she's cool too.....i wrote chairkickers for some cd's when i was incacerated and she replied to me! very cool, and Alan threw in a promo cd of his side gig....

  • Wow, I love this song. It's hypnotic.

  • @GodofAnotherWorId It's not.

  • This band is awesome, I love slowcore :) Shame they're Mormon though :L:L

  • ahhh man, i know this sounds cheesy as hell, but this song is a complete feeling of comfort to the loneliness i've been feeling recently... sounds stupid i know! but seriously, there's some songs that just fit whatever mood so well. inspirational!

  • Saw Low last night at Bristol Trinity. They were absolutely amazing. I've loved them for ages, but this was the first time I'd caught them live. Reinforces my love for them even further.

  • What an unexpected treat to see Barron Von Rashke. What a cool wrestler he was. He should have put "the Claw" on the people who turned down his balloon offer!

  • interesting video. the baldy guy carries the Word to share it but barely anyone wants to receive it.

  • wow... what a gorgeous song

  • i love mimi for no reason.

  • what a smooth spirit

  • Art

  • She is the most beautiful woman I have EVER seen.

  • @hossahoy Really? I think she looks like a Vogon from Hitch Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy. Great voice though.

  • i really like them. they sound like This Ascension! except a little slower and more pretty.

  • Low music reminds me of Mooses.

  • Love this video...!!!

  • I don't think of myself as "depressed." Often I feel dismayed, and sometimes disillusioned, but I think of music like this as meditative and usually relaxing.

  • Beautiful song, it gives me shivers..

  • i want a balloon

  • @somedaythewave I know! Who wouldn't accept one?

  • How gorgeous is this? No words... really...

  • @cvijetics This has got to be the most amazing song. I've never had so much difficulty describing it's pure beauty. Going to their concerts would be.. undescribable :)

  • Pure beauty.

  • I am thinking of my high school peers that yet, don't know what beauty is....

  • this proves less is more

  • Mimi has such a tender voice but strong too somehow.

Low are really great, it's like their music comes from antoher solar system

  • @spaceisneat

    I'm obsessed too.

    So wonderful.

  • I'm obsessed with this song and video. I can't stop watching it lol. :DDD

  • Prettiest video ever? (Not to mention the song)

  • this song is amazing, along with the video that fits perfectly

  • Stunning!

  • Absolutely perfect

  • This video was filmed in various spots in Minneapolis. There are multiple scenes that include the 35W bridge that collapsed in August 2007.

  • ambient music is leading us to a brighter future...

  • Mimi Parker's voice is one of the most beautiful I've ever heard. I got introduced to Low back in high school, and I was fortunate enough to get a few of my CD sleeves signed by Alan, Mimi and Zak. Low is one of those rare bands that make you realize that, when you stop moving at such a hectic pace for a few minutes and close your eyes, you'll understand how beautiful music like this truly is.

  • This isnt the type of music i usually listen to.. i like bands like cannibal corpse.. SOAD, Children of Bodom ect.. but having watched skins, Where Point Of Disgust Plays, ive really been into LOW.

  • Wow, I love all these comments. Rare that a band does this.

  • I find this to be a very haunting song, yet there's something beautiful beneath all the layers of melancholy. I also really love the harmonies Alan and Mimi perform in their songs. It gives an edge to their music.

  • I am normally listening to ear bursting metal or classical music. This is a good escape.

  • it is such a beautiful piece of music, it stimulates my imagination and is somehow ethereal and uplifting in it's exquisite sadness. Like autumn leaves falling and feelings of lost love, melancholy yet comforting at the same time. What an absolute treasure this group are!

  • I cry like a lil bitch listening to LOW :)

  • i'm still listening to this over and over again

i've been doing that for about 5 days nonstop.

low are so amazing. i have to see them live.

    x

  • fkng love it =)

  • I grew up with this group. They were a closely guarded secret among my close friends. A decade later, my kids are watching "Yo, Gabba Gabba!" and I hear them again doing a family song. I had to look them up again. Sweet memories.

  • Is it possible for something to be so beautiful that it makes your teeth ache? This song proves that yes, is is possible.

  • I always find it interesting that as soon as people hear a sound; whether a voice, or a note, that causes reflection, they shy away and complain of being depressed. Most just want a distraction from actual feeling. Seems to me that's why such crap is allowed on the radio. The same formula of 'happy' distraction to keep the masses 'happy.'

Take a moment. Cry if you have to. But enjoy it all.

  • @FrancisLuke000 That's the perfect description of the first 4 notes. It causes reflection. Absolutely perfect.

  • @FrancisLuke000 i always found songs like these make me feel better. im not the most positive person and when i listen to songs that i feel i can relate to it helps me. i guess i makes me feel less alone. thats why i want to be a musician. if i could just make one person feel better and effect them the way others music has effected me, my life would feel complete

  • @FrancisLuke000 You sir, are a fucking winner.

  • @FrancisLuke000 pretty sure happy is a feeling! LOL

  • @FrancisLuke000 Nice try, being insightfull@ LOL

  • @FrancisLuke000 your words are so great! lots of love to you! :)

  • @FrancisLuke000 you have been and are still so very right after two years of saying what you said.. a distraction from feeling real feelings, real depths...

  • @FrancisLuke000 I like songs that empower you as well as help you reflect on what you've done. Some people use happy songs to not go where they don't want to venture out into unknown waters. I can't be too mad at them for that. But then again if you don't let yourself feel everything then you won't be being human.

  • @FrancisLuke000

If you have to listen to music to feel then you are not really "living" are you?

  • @PomaiKajiyama Are the emotions and experiences of "living" somehow separate from or more important than the emotions and experiences we have of listening to music? Nietzsche famously said, "Life without music would be a mistake."

  • @briteness

Nietzsche was just another fucking monkey.

  • @briteness

Nietzsche was just another fucking monkey.

  • @PomaiKajiyama What the fuck is your problem?

  • @briteness

There's an idiot named briteness on youtube who drags up month old comments and thinks that namedropping Nietzsche makes them cool.

  • This is a depressing vid. The song is good but very sad.

  • yeah i love these guys.maybe its a sense of detachment in the video that ppl feel?thats what i get anyway.

  • People confuse actually feeling emotion with feeling depressed. Sad really. Love this song.

  • Ooooh. Laid back, mellow, relaxing, very low candlelight, looking out over the lights of Manhattan from 50 stories up.

  • Fucking brilliant.

  • its to depressing

  • I would say its melloncollie, i wouldnt say its depressing.. yeah emo is depressing, shit like this is meloncollie.

  • Melancholy is certainly the mood of the song. Melancholy is a mood characterized by a deep gloom or depression. Melon Collie and the Infinite Sadness is an album by The Smashing Pumpkins.

  • i sort of agree with jewgrover but i guess in a way the music clip is depressing because his alone

  • L-O-V-E it! Low is awesome...................

  • Wow... such subtle, gentle beauty. Low are so heartfelt.

  • Yeah, it's kind of misleading to describe music as "depressing".

I never get why people do so.

Post Rock et all, in particular (even at it's darkest) is NEVER depressing.

Plastic "emo" bands on the other hand?

Now THAT'S depressing, but for an entirely different reason... Haha.

  • I totally agree With you.

Post rock is always dark, but never depressing.

Couldn't have said it better myself.

  • This song really does bring tears to my eyes. It is so depressing. Just in her voice, you can tell that something is haunting her.

  • Gotta love this song... a bit depressing but I live depressing songs.

  • This is so beautiful and sad it's almost unwatchable.

  • one of the songs that changed my life. and the clip with the floating camera and the old man story is amazing. low are the best

  • Very Portushead like. I love it.

  • Nice

  • coolest mormons ever

  • couldn't agree more

  • someone pleeeease post "throw out the line" or "caroline"

  • I've got no words for this music.

Damn, and i'm gonna see them live in holland, 22 januarie

  • I have always loved Low... I am so moved by their music.

  • Ya they are so awesome!!! I went to UMD with Alan. Their music always reminds me of a slow, dreary, cold, day in Duluth. It's like you can feel th hustle-bustle of real life leave your body when you listen to their music.

  • I'M LOW

  • Lol.

  • amazing song.

  • good song , little PostRock feels...

  • Absolutely perfect music !

  • shit i think ive fallen in love

    new favorite band

  • Thank you for posting this, really, this soulful jem could of slid right under my feet.

  • So beautiful.......

  • Discovered them years ago...one of the best.

  • yes.. pure heaven...listen also to "words" by Low,, wow..

  • I remember breaking up with lady back in '98 i sat home and put this song on repeat all night......It's an excellent c.d.

  • Perfect for those times when you want to be awash in reverb. Thanks for posting this.

  • perrrfect

  • thank you Mimi..you put Jesus in my heart

  • exactly what i need right now.

  • lindo :)

  • was this filmed in minneapolis?

  • yep- it's the lovely mississippi. also, the man handing out balloons is the Baron Von Raschke, pro wrestler from the 60s-70s. remember 'the claw'?

  • @anneike I almost keeled over when I saw the Baron. I used to enjoy him back in his wrestling days.

  • this song is the most beautiful song i have ever heard in my life so much so that i literally hope that when i die i die to this song

  • Personally I think I'd prefer to go with No Surprises by Radiohead.

  • i love low, i just finish uploading a vid for tjhe song cut form their album i could live in hope niiiiice!

  • support your local low

  • anyone know how he gets that crazy long sustain out of the guitar?

  • its a Digital Reverb FX Pedal cranked up full...

  • Wonderful, beautiful song. This was the first of dozens if not hundreds of good Low songs that I've listened to, and it is still my favorite.

  • The first Low video I've seen that seemed related to the song. The music is consistenly good, but most of Low's videos are boring and pointless.

  • Had a party with these guys in Fla in 94. Very cool scene. Very cool.

  • ......amazing.

  • God, what a gorgeous song. Believe it or not, this band has only gotten better with age. Different, but better.

  • The man with the balloons is Baron Von Raschke ("The Clawmaster"), a professional wrestler from the 70s and 80s. He was my absolute favorite as a kid, and I still think the guy rules. Apparently, so does the St. Paul History Theatre, since they just produced a play about him in the spring of 2007. His famous tag-line during his wrestling years was "...and that is all the people need to know!"

  • They are GREAT(and their record company sub-pop!)

  • Am I the only one that feels her voice is reminiscent of the girl from "Cowboy Junkies"? I love it, it's so sultry :-)

  • Had a friend who needed to discover this. My good dded for the day is a good dose of melancholy Low :)

  • Thank you, my dear friend :-) This was right up my alley, I LOVE it! From the lyrics to the video, it ruled! I always loved that color-scheme, similar to "Take a Bow" by Madonna, that's so romantic... :-)

  • The album from which this song comes (plus their first) were engineered by Kramer at Noise New Jersey...lots of reverb, very beautiful...If you like this you should check out Galaxie 500 (another Kramer-recorded band)...

  • I can't stop watching.

  • One of their best albums, and easily the best video.

  • great song,

  • My favorite Low song and one of the best songs ever written, IMHO.

  • my favorite Low song...so good in concert

  • very cool

  • I love LOW !

  • This song makes me cry.

  • This song makes me cry. shit.

  • Absolutely beautiful.

  • mimi parker has the voice of an angel

  • Wonderful video.
