  • @hopndrop1 you can use them and it will show you the jpeg on the lcd screen but it will not apply what you do in picture control to the RAW file.

  • it what situation do you adjust the brightness?

  • @PoppyRoxxx you really dont ever have to adjust it.

  • i am using DSLR NIKON D60 55-200mm 1:4-5.6.what's the best setting for my camera in shooting low light photos.? my settings for the iso 100- 1600, aperture f4-22, shutter 30'-1/4000.. I'm new to photography though I've played different settings but still like to add more life to my photos.I hope more response from you guys.It will be very much appreciated. Thanks!

  • i have the d3s and i use the picture control setting even when i shoot raw. i don't do a lot of post processing, so i like to have the image mostly perfect in the camera. in my camera the picture control does apply to the raw image. i didn't know that it isn't possible in the d3

  • @Sinwori On my D300, the picture control did applies on mine also. I have D2x mode 1,2,3 Portrait, Landscape, Fuji,People, and so many more. And yes it did apply on the RAW, not much as JPG but yes it did.

  • Great Tutorial Conor. My Nikon D90 has a Pict Control setting for Portrait. What exactly is the advantage of using a Portrait setting in my D90?

  • @AuliaHarun depends on what you are taking pictures of. for portraits use the portrait setting, for landscapes use the vivid.
