A neat one, I had to convert mine to a B23F which I am really happy with. The high compression burns this alcohol gas completely :) Do you still have the car?
@GreaterGreece - Yes, the 3 speed auto coupled to the PRV is EXCEPTIONAL in hilly terrain.
@DrBPhD - The quirks were terminal in my case, for the PRV not the car :) The camshafts wore away and they sounded like a hammering hobo tattering and tapping.
My Family and I had a fully loaded 1980 Metallic Bronze 265 GLE wagon with the 2.8 liter PRV (Peugeot-Renault-Volvo) V6 engine that my Dad bought brand new and we kept it until early 1986, We never had any mechanical problems whatsoever with it, my parents always took it in for the recommended services, Tune-ups, Oil changes, etc, and it just purred like a kitten the whole time!!! I think my Dad even said he even had it up to 128 mph one time!! It had a 4 speed manual transmission with overdrive
grand parents had a black 80 240 GLE V6 was okay i thought it looked better than it ran they traded it in for a 86 740 black got rear ended got a 87 740 silver parents got a 83 GLT installed intercooler 5-6 mos after getting car also have a 2000 940R
Dad had 78 264GL 2.7(GL had no electric windows) same colour, ATE CAMSHAFTS + TIMING CHAINS + HEAD GASKETS! Also found in Peugeot 604 and Renault 30 I think. A year after they made the much improved 2.8 which they fitted 2 Deloreans without aforementioned probs. I doubt there are many 2.7s still alive if u are offfered one dont freekin buy it man. Served its pupose back then though: it made the neighbours jealous.
I used to have a 1978 244 DL with those same rims. It only had a crappy 2.1L 4-cylinder engine, and was shit for speed. Mine was really falling apart at the end.
I had Volvo 264GLE with the original 2,7 liter V6 engine. it's not the best looking car but it goes like the devil and they're worth keeping when u first got one. It's value is increasing every year.
i want to fuck your car!

Wonderful car, although the PRV's had their quirks (an improved B30E would have been a better choice).
