Quintessential Roberty & Jerry. It never got any better than this, and couldn't have.
Maybe one of the best folk/rock minstrel songs ever wrtiten. Few songs rival it in its lyrical and musical interdependent perfection. It is like a gospel prayer.
If Jesus walked the earth nowadays, he'd be preaching this one. Salve for the soul.
Brokedown palace is one of the most psychedelic songs the dead ever did. It was nice to hear after a 3 or 4 night stop on tour and itwas like our own private idaho or our Brokedown palace. It gets even more psychedelic but i will not try to explain because if you had this similar experiance you know what i mean and if you did not ,i am sorry for you.
Another one of the hardcore Jerry Ballads that makes me cry like a baby....soul clensing tears...everytime. Like clockwork. The span of emotions this tune brings to me is unreal. Grateful Dead Forever...under eternity.
Hard to believe its 16 years already
still miss him and always will

This as the last song I ever heard at Shoreline shortly before Jerry's death. So bittersweet. RIP Jerry.

Thanks for your posts.
Fantastic. I am so glad I know what it feels like to call Jerry and the Boys back out with a Bic lighter.
I don't think there is a replacement for today's generation, nor future generations. RIP Jerry.
