The USS Cole is an excellent example for not taking the extra precautions and warnings. Listen to 0:12 in this video. The US ship that was involved in the radio communication was USS Hopper which is Warship 70.
Yet the audio on the other video called "Real iranian video TRUTH" is with Warship 73
Warship 73 is a ship called Port Royal, which isn't the same ship as Hopper.
This means that the video of "Real iranian video TRUTH" isn't the same scenario as this one.
And by the way, there have been many cases where boats go really close to US ships, and nothing happens

If I was an Iranian general, and I wanted to make the US look bad, I'd send out a bunch of speedboats packed with civilians, and one similar speedboat packed with explosives.
Then, I'd have them all swarm around a warship. I'd have the explosives boat suicide itself into the side of the warship and then sit back while the warship attacked the rest of the boats full of civilians. Then I'd put on a news broadcast about how the US navy killed innocent bystanders.

The USS Cole is an excellent example for not taking the extra precautions and warnings. In fact the Cole got hit because it was a civilian boat and didn't pose a threat, just like the Iranian boats were doing. As for the "puny" boats comment. History will tell you that it was one "puny" boat that Killed 17 US Sailors and nearly sank the ship. Imagine what five "puny" boats could do if they actually intended on " exploding" us.
