  • It's interesting to read the amount of push-back in the comments here...If you prefer yoga, do yoga! If you think Feldenkrais is bad for your knees (despite the origins of the method!), you can either try it and find out differently,--or persist in that way of thinking! I KNOW how beneficial Feldenkrais lessons can be and that there is absolutely no contradiction between Feldenkrais and yoga. Do both, do one or do neither! It's totally OK, because it's YOUR body!

  • The bottom line is that the Feldenkrais Method will help students maintain/improve their balance as well as the ease and comfort of their movement. It gives many people the ability to return to things they thought they had to give up. I see it all the time in my practice. We don't need to get into arguments with folks who want to pick out ONE thing they don't agree with or understand. The "proof" is in the changes and improvements that happen in our students and our own lives. Great video.

  • I rather do Yoga

  • @yiyo2008monte yoga is great too but feldenkrais creates a comletely different kind of body awereness that is great for t.ex. dancers and actors

  • Why do they sit like that on the floor? Not a great position for the knee.

  • @onemindonespirit tell me please why do you think this way of sitting is not good for the knees? Maybe it's not good for your knee but if you take a look at babies you will see that they use this way of sitting very often and i didn't hear so far that babies have knee problems, they improve their hips and knees and have a long spine with free head on the end.... maybe you should think about it ;)

  • @svele555 babies also have an all milk diet and spend most of their time lying down. Are you going to imitate that too? That position puts stress on the knee as it is bending in a direction knees don't go.

  • @onemindonespirit well i am talking about babies from 6 months to older, in that time babies begin to sit upright and start slowly with verticalization. So they are not lying all the time and for sure those babies don't have "milk" diet

But yes, in Feldenkrais method you spend a lot time lying and exploring what do you do in some light movements, believe it or not this way of learning could help you to be without knee problems in this sitting position. For sure i don't have it

  • this and AT should be taught in schools.

  • che stronzade...

  • Great excercize from Awareness Through Movement but they don't take you through it, they just show others learning eyes beginning movement. It is great the way you can reach around yourself so effortlessly, but they seem to just have case studys and not a class. They should trust that the method will sell itself.

  • go Feldenkrais!
