Can anybody tell me something about those 67 Stang with GT500 spoilers? I never heard of it, but this one is the third 67 Mustang I see with such a spoiler. Always thought that it was only made on GT 350 & GT 500 67' stangs.
@67FEfastback Turbo chargers actually quite a vehicles exhaust. Especially twin turbos. But they do sound like jets taking off when the turbos light!! :)

@ZildjianDrummerRanck superchargers are parasitic by nature, and per the same amount of psi a well tuned turbo setup will see higher gains than a supercharged setup. That is not speculation either...dyno proven.
The problem with turbo's has always been the heat and the lag depending on the size and placement of the turbo without extra measures to help reduce it.
Totally the opposite; twin turbo is much more expensive, and supercharging is the cheap man's route, unless you go old school blower.
It's stupid to compare the Mustang with the Veyron.The Veyron was designed by german scientists in a lab.The Mustang however,it's such a man's car....

As one of the Top Gear hosts noted when took the Veyron from 250-0 in 11 seconds the most resistance the car gave you would be a slight twitch in the wheel. In the skyline you would be working hard to keep the car in line under that much deceleration.

The fact of the matter is that the Veyron was designed without profit in mind and they actually lost money with every car, so it is safe to say that there will not be a car that can rival it any time soon. And again, when I say rival I mean in all aspects, not just straight line speed.

I had a 67 Mustang Hi-po that looked almost like this one except for the spoiler. Last i saw it was in Michigan.. I was a great car that I raced while I grew up... Did all I could to make it fast, but nothing like this one. What a rush I bet.... Congratulations on a super car and memories...

my 93' mustang with 300 horsepower is just fine for me, atleast i can park it on the street and not worry about assholes fuckin with it, or driving over a rampant twig on the road, unlike veyron drivers.
Ok here is the thing. I am a mustang, ford, american fan but the veyron is no joke. The Reason it only makes 1001 horsepower is because they over engineered it. The turbos only give 15.8 Psi so thats about 4 per turbo, thats low pressure. The veyron also redlines at 6500. Which is low for those audi V8s. They could make the car have more power but it wouldnt last 125000 miles. They made a car not just some dragster that needs a new engine after every run but Id take the mustang any day :)
the biggest thing that gets me is that people dont see that all the "supercars" (using the veyron as an example) do SOOO much to the car like two audi v8's and even have quad turbos and finally manage to reach 1000 horsepower.
ok so veyron has 16 cylinders wow great job europe for making something twice the size of the SSC's engine and still doesnt go as fast or get as many mpg... and for half the price

It's called the SSC Ultimate Aero made in the United States imagine that it has like 1250 hp twin turbo 16 mpg V8! Compared to V-12 quad supercharged veyron.... 3 mpg... I think America took this one.

@oldmusher Actually the Veyron is one of the most unreliable cars ever built, it can only handle being run flat out for a very short period of time the motor doesn't even use main caps or main bearings the aluminum oil pan is the cap and bearing set. I don't know about you guys but if I pay the price for one of the worlds fastest cars i am going to use it.

@240sxRule but if you drove that car then drove a Veyron you would notice the considerable difference in how the cars drive. As one of the Top Gear hosts noted when took the Veyron from 250-0 in 11 seconds the most resistance the car gave you would be a slight twitch in the wheel. In the skyline you would be working hard to keep the car in line under that much deceleration.

@SebastianLong I never said anything about turns, I'm reffering to things like efficiency, reliability, stability, functionality. If you watch Top Gear you should know exactly what I'm talking about. Also Bugatti invested 5 million PER CAR. At some 300-500 cars thats over 1.5 billion euros. You must realize there is more to going fast than going fast.

@SebastianLong The difference between this and the Veyron is reliability. Bugatti put over 5 million euros per car into the design of the most sophisticated and extensively developed car in history. The fact of the matter is that the Veyron was designed without profit in mind and they actually lost money with every car, so it is safe to say that there will not be a car that can rival it any time soon. And again, when I say rival I mean in all aspects, not just straight line speed.

@RebelSoul2010 the veyron is not as capable in the turns as you think it is...hell...you ever watch Top Gear?...well...it was i think 3rd or 4th quickest on their track...and the cars that beat it had half the horsepower...and the research companies that built those cars didnt spend 5 million euros to design them

i love how some people talk like they understand the engineering behind high power engines. The only way this engine would be near the level of performance of engines in cars like the veyron is if the owner has invested millions in professional research and development, and when i say performance I am referring to much more than horsepower. (to everyone about to call me an idiot, I am at school studying to design and develope engines so yes, I know what I'm talking about)

I had a 67 Mustang Hi-po that looked almost like this one except for the spoiler. Last i saw it was in Michigan.. I was a great car that I raced while I grew up... Did all I could to make it fast, but nothing like this one. What a rush I bet.... Congratulations on a super car and memories...

The veyron turbos each make 15.8psi, multiple turbos are used to increase the airflow, not the pressure.

Ok here is the thing. I am a mustang, ford, american fan but the veyron is no joke. The Reason it only makes 1001 horsepower is because they over engineered it. The turbos only give 15.8 Psi so thats about 4 per turbo, thats low pressure. The veyron also redlines at 6500. Which is low for those audi V8s. They could make the car have more power but it wouldnt last 125000 miles. They made a car not just some dragster that needs a new engine after every run but Id take the mustang any day :)

Ha. It's funny watching people compare mustangs to veyrons and what not. But theres actually a car that beats the veyron for $650,000 thought. It's called the SSC Ultimate Aero made in the United States imagine that it has like 1250 hp twin turbo 16 mpg V8! Compared to V-12 quad supercharged veyron.... 3 mpg... I think America took this one.

Veyrons and other supercars are nice enough, but understand that they are not reliable and that the owners are scared to drive them for fear of damage. For what a Veyron costs TO INSURE I can easily build a used Mustang (Camaro, Challenger, smart car) that will kick its ass.
Put down your car magazine, clearasil your face and go out in the street. Look both ways. DO YOU SEE A VEYRON? Aerodynamics are fine, but when was the last time a Bugatti won a race? 1922?

@oldmusher Actually the Veyron is one of the most unreliable cars ever built, it can only handle being run flat out for a very short period of time the motor doesn't even use main caps or main bearings the aluminum oil pan is the cap and bearing set. I don't know about you guys but if I pay the price for one of the worlds fastest cars i am going to use it.
