  • Sounds Saucy , Loves it ! :)

  • i have the exact same sled....just yesterday my son went for a ride and it died on him....i couldn't get it going so i brought it back to the garage....pulled the plug out and gave it a few pulls, and huge amounts of gas shot out of the plug hole.....wtf....stumped as to what happened to it....any ideas?

  • i would love to have a old lynx like that all i have is a 1991 panther

  • Cool sled----I'm restoring a '71 Panther myself...

  • Now I'm ALL JONESD OUT waiting on the snow !!!!

  • Artic Cat Pride, you rebuilt it for your wife .. why are you riding it .. lol , smart guy !! .

  • @MultiSkidoo The ride is he's wife! Da'ah..

  • Nothing, in my opinion, beats the sound of a single

  • nice man she looks and sounds good

  • I used to have a Arctic Cat Panther when I was a kid. Then my dad finally bought a Cheetah. For it's day it was fast. I haven't been snowmobiling since I graduated from HS. I miss it.

  • yep i've got one i use to ride it when i was a kid about 13 for couple years we messed with it, i grew up poor never had a new sled so we used that one, and then my father picked up a newer well to me newer it was probably 80's El tigre nice sled had some issues would bog down then just gave up on it all el tigre got sold. I'm 25 now and well i stepped out for a smoke and seen my lynx sitting out by the ol trailer forgot all about it ne one interested? no sheild but cowel good shape seat ripped

  • my dad bought me one when i was about 11. i'm not sure what model year it was but it had a wankel (sp?) engine with a fuel pump mounted on the engine recoil pull cover which used the rotation of the engine to pump fuel. i noticed when you lifted the cowel yours did not have that. lt never ceased to give us problems. but when it did run i had a lot of fun on it.

  • yea i had one of them it had a jlo 340 engine on it ran good but it would always start running on one cylinder after it warmed up

  • Oh my gosh! I had a '71 lynx in Alaska. It sounded just like that one, but we called it the Jynx because it left us stranded so many times. I finally got it running ok. Those old machines sure were tippy though. You really had to ride them. Thanks for the memories.

  • How do you carry your camera while you driving on your sled?? On helmet cam or holding?

  • great video, thanks for posting. I have a '70 Panther with a JLO 340 single - got to put some videos up.....

  • That's a great little sled you built. I really like the antique sleds. They just don't build em' the way they used to. Great video! On those straights, looked like about 50 to 55 mph?

  • damn that sounds so smooth

  • ARCTIC PRIDE if u agree hit the thumbs up

  • the 292 lynx is such a great sled

  • I grew up riding my dad's 71 Scorpion Singer III with 400 cc. That machine was light - you could lift the front and back of the machine out of any tight spot. Can't do that with my new sled. It was only recently I realized Scorpions were the sharpest sleds of the era. Only problem with it is the carb was pointed at the rider so you always smelled like you were bathing in gasoline after a day of riding.

  • i know what you mean cause i still rude my 440 lynx till this day

  • @91ws6formula there always pointing at the rider. you mean the carb wasn't under the hood it was right in your lap basically? i have a sled like that too

  • sweet, i had a yamaha 292 from this era. i think it was a '72. sounded a lot different though. it surprisingly had oil injection.

  • nice sled, i have a 74 292 and i would love to restore it but nobody sells parts for it anymore

  • I have a 75 Pantera 340 that I'm restoring for my son it is all new to me and I have the time of my life I wish I would have found this hobby earlier in life its awesome

  • lol, i have a '75 lynx 250, thing wont run for long(about 30 seconds untill it bogs down if you use throttle.) and it will run fine with the gas line off, but once you put it on, it will die. and if it starts with it on,it bogs.

  • @747pro if you still have it and are on the east coast and it's not all beat up I'd like to buy it.

  • nope, sold it last winter. and im in minnesota.

  • i've got one, i just stepped out to have a smoke and then noticed it forgot all about it, it's not wrecked and the cowel's not all broke up but one of the motor mounts was broke and the windsheild is gone, and the throttle cable is broke besides that i use to play with it when i was about 13-16 then the mount broke and the belt would slip this is the same exact sled as the one in the video sounds just like it to boy it was fun when i had it i'm now 25 i live in Maine, let me know

  • i used to have a 72 panther 292 but the clutch was shot and it needed a bunch of other stuff. the 72 cheetah 440 always ran great though

  • Nice job! My brother and I had two 72's. These puppies (292's)run forever. The added ape hangers go well with your seat. Sit back and give the piece sign to the neighbors as you buzz by their house!Cool project and lucky gal!

  • i have a 1974 lynx 1 with a rockwell 399 motor in it and im going to be posting a vid soon 2 stroke it is

  • i love vintage sleds....the 70's were the breakthrough for sleds...especially Ski-doo, Arctic-Cat and Polaris....Yamaha got big in the 80's

  • is that a 2 stroke motor?

  • nice sled ive got the same engine in my 72 panther.

  • nice sled i've got a 1993 lynx 340 these old artic cats run like scolded dogs

  • awesome sled
