@LetsFlyOnceMore GO AWAY. I made this video years and Im sick of people only coming on to it to insult something or someone, one way or another. I dont care how tall a horse can be or that you think im a prissy. you know nothing about me or my knowledge. im sick of people lying, its obvious when people are lying on the internet. just jump of my back and move on with your life. k?
and i beleive you cannot call yourself a true horse person unless you respect both styles. I do not ride english but i would try it if i got the chance, and i love watching english diciplined horses as well as riding and watching western! thumbs up for the love of horse and the kabosh on arguing over wich is better!
i think western looks quite fun i wold like to try it but where i live in england there isnt really many western riding places i can have a lesson at :( the only part of e=western i dont like is cheyenne rodeo .
@XxLottienZarriaxX Have you ever been? Are you just reading one point of view? If you've been and know from what you've learned (without biased sources) I accept your opinion. It's your right. Please don't parrot something you haven't made the effort to investigate both sides.
Respond to this video... I clicked post to soon. I was referring to your reference to the Cheyenne rodeo. Is it any different that other rodeos? National Finals for example or do you just disagree with the sport of rodeo?
i think western is more roughty and exited and english is come gracful and pretty i ride western but i like both and im going to start riding english soon honestly people need to get off of here and go to their barns and look at what really matters not the saddle . . not the bridle . . . your horse and the bond you have with your horse <333 i know my bond with my horse is unbreakable
@Horsemanship12 your one to talk. try to pretend your amazing. and no, certification does not mean you just go to college. actually, it has nothing to do with college.
@Horsemanship12 what are you 5? I bet im a shit load older then you. Im a certified riding instructor and trainer. You probably like 12. Im so damn sorry I dont memorize how tall the worldest tallest horse is. And im sooooo proud you could look it up on the internet. where are your videos of your "amazing riding" and riding your whole life? maybe, but your probably not that old so it doesnt really matter. I work with hundreds of horses a week. what about you? thought so.
@slappymyhorsexoxo Wow okay, just an idea, maybe you shouldn't go around making big assumptions like that about people. And if you are a riding instructor/trainer, what you said to Horsemanship 12 is definitely not very professional. Just a thought.
I dont think that talk like this on youtube is very good for you as a certified riding instructor.... and since you say she must be young you as a riding instructor should be encouraging her interest in horses not screaming at her... but thats just my opinion. though I'm not going to say that her choice of words was very proper either...
@Horsemanship12 i don't believe a word you say. A quarter can't physically be 19 hh. its is NOT possible. The worlds tallest horse is 19.2 hh genius. your dont know what your talking about. I bet your a little girl who doesnt know how to ride
@CrazyWesternRider just a couple of things. It doesn't sound as if you've ever even ridden English. I am a riding instructor of both english and western lessons at a high ranked barn and understand the differences. this video was made by a friend of mine that only rides western and is much younger then I. another question, why would you break a horse when she's 11? Horses are broken around the ages of 2 - 3(as i do it) unless they may have been stallions or broad mares.and I doubt thats the case.
@slappymyhorsexoxo She was abused and beaten and tried to KILL anyone who went near her. And I am the only one who can ride her. I am 13, and yes I HAVE ridden English its horrible. I say English is horse abuse. And Star is the best horse ever, so don't give me anything about how she was broke at 11, her mouth is so scared from them bitting her and tying her to a pole at the age of 1!, she can't have a bit and she hates English as much as i do, you can see it in her face.
@CrazyWesternRider english, horse abuse?!!!! I'm sorry that happened to your horse and she sounds wonderful, but please don't say that about english, because maybe you have been exposed to some bad english, but english is just a saddle! All riding can be bad, english and western if done incorrectly, but neither is horse abuse if done correctly. And BOTH are not good if done incorrectly :D
@Jojogirl641 Well, know that you explained it in the other posts I kinda get it, but Star never will. And I think I will always be horrible at English, Western is for me.
@CrazyWesternRider How is english horse abuse? I ride english and western and theres nuthin wrong with it! ITs mostly just a matter of what fits you better!
@CrazyWesternRider you still dont tell me how english is horse abuse. and i used to hate it before i actually started riding english but like i said its just a matter on wht fits you better and idc wht your 90 year old neighbor thnks abt it!
@PocosDocBarFury Oh let me think. Tight Reins in jumping, and in dressage the reins are so tight the horses can barely move it's head. And the horse swishes it's tail all the time.
@CrazyWesternRider Okk so almost every horse in every diseplene is gunna swish its tail no matter what, i dont do dressage very often but when i did take lessons the horse naturally holds his head like that and in jumping and most other english classes we use very loose reinsss... so learn about what you are talking about before you say stupid crap and make yourself look like an idiot for not knowing what your talking about...
@CrazyWesternRider you honestly are not very educated on anything related to horses and riding styles. You have no idea what you are talking about. So how about you calm yourself little lying self down and go learn something.
@slappymyhorsexoxo My horse, Star, is so good at barrels I don't have to kick or whip, she goes flat out at one click.I broke her when she was 11. I got her over her fear of people and she had perfect ground manners after 4 months of meeting her. I am breaking a 2 and a half year old Paso rescue for cutting.I broke another Paso out of the habit of rearing at shadows and water. I can get her to calmly walk into a lake. I ride all three of them in a Hackamore, bit-less.
@CrazyWesternRider They are wonderful, freezing as soon as my butt leaves the saddle. I am also training my 90 year old neighbors 17 h Quarter Horse, who LOVES to buck, Marie has successfully ridden 2 trails with her. I can also ride my retired Rodeo appaloosa horse English over 3ft jumps, we don't go higher because he is a RETIRED RODEO horse.
@CrazyWesternRider Actually i get paid big bucks to retrain horses with issues. Bucking, rearing, bolting and I also break horses. Not every horse can be ridden bitless and it doesnt matter if they can be. If your gentle with the mouth it doesnt matter. there are plenty of people in western that pull on the mouth and spur and whip. Not only in english. And I would love to see you training these horses or jumping your "retired rodeo horse" since you hate english so much. you have issues
@slappymyhorsexoxoI can't show you me training them because they are done, and with Annee I just try and cut whenever we can. and Rodeo Queens Pretty Remarkable Champ is a purebred Appaloosa, who used to do alot of rodeo work. He is almost 20 and the rodeo people say he is to old for rodeo. And I only ride him English because my best friend Shannon is a hunter jumper on Foxy Roxy, so the deal is if I want to ride Roxy I need to be able to jump and have almost flawless English. I am almost there
@CrazyWesternRider I have problem believing you in any way shape or form. How about you actually put a video if you riding your "flawless" english. And if you hate english so much why do you ride that way? and why are you telling me bout some pure bred horse of reitred rodeo horses? you know, none of your stories match up
@slappymyhorsexoxo You know, believe what you want, but I want to ride Roxy, a 19hh horse, and I can only do it English, and Mark is a pure bred Appaloosa of fine lines. He is a retired rodeo horse and the only one I trust English. And I do plan on a video but my mom took my camera to another state for the weekend, so it will have to wait.
@CrazyWesternRider 19 hh? do you have any idea how tall that is? No normal horse is 19 hh so stop pretending. And if he is a rodeo horse then why is he english? and say what you want about the video. you never post anything.
@slappymyhorsexoxo Yeah, Roxy is an appendix quarter horse, and she is 19hh. And the vid should be up tomorrow. And as I said before, he is the only horse I trust English
@slappymyhorsexoxo One True Media is only posting some of the Video. Anything else I could use? And I can't get Hips Don't lie so I am using something else.
@CrazyWesternRider ha yeah the click thing is a blessing and a curse. my horse goes like that and he is amazeing but i had a... well i knew this... ok the cold hearted bitch that i got my horse from had a horse and if some one clicked she was gone like hall ass get the f*** outa my way. we never knew why she did that but if you were on her it was scarey cuz she would tuck her head up to her cheast and just keep going... gess what she was trained in... westrn pleasre lol
@CrazyWesternRider and the barn i ride at NOBODY pulls at the horses mouth not in dessage, jumping or ANYTHINGG!!! so not everybody is the same with what they do, not every trainor taches the same and i know people who do pull on the horses mouth and it irritates the crap out of me but not everybody does it and the ppl that ikkk DONT!!!
@CrazyWesternRider Like when we train them we try and get them to do it naturally but i dont do the stuff where you HAVE to have the chin tucked i do the stuff that where you just have a level head set thats almost like a western pose but ya kno... and i dont think i am lol
@PocosDocBarFury Oh, well SHARK says the Cheyenne Frontier Days Rodeo is abuse. I want to go watch one, and how do you keep your horses chins tucked I trained Beauty with a tie down, now a tap on the right shoulder twice and she tucks it
@CrazyWesternRider Ive heard all kinds of crap about rodeos bein horse abuse cow abuse all that, and quite frankly they are full of complete shit, i ride barrel at rodeos and my cousin and ex bf rides bulls and sometimes i go and help out and work and they never so much as tap the horse the wrong way, except when we ride them i use spurs and sometimes a whip and the home stretch in barrels and poles.
@CrazyWesternRider and to keep my horses chin tucked im not sure what its called but it liknda like a harness that you see when you drive a buggy but we only use it while they are still young and we train them but after training is over you can kinda milk the reins a little bit and they automattically tuckk their chin so we dont hurt them when we do, but some ppl do yes, but its like that in western too...
@CrazyWesternRider I do somtimes but its more like a tie down you just attach it to the noseband and then o the saddle, a martingale goes around their neckkk
@CrazyWesternRider Lol its kinda like a breast plate of a western horse but goes around the top of the neck then ties to the saddle, but it doesnt hurt themmm
@CrazyWesternRider No, a martingale does not hurt them, and a breast collar/plate for a western horse doesnt unless you put it around them to tight. Martingales are usually for more control but it doesnt hurt them
@slappymyhorsexoxo There are many horses who aren't started till later in their life for multiple reasons or it could be that she restarted the horse due to bad training, behavior or another reason. And no not eveyrone starts their horses that young my secondary barn doesn't start their horses in saddle till they are 5-6 but do loads of ground work up till then.
I love horseback riding, especially western!!! GO WESTERN
I think english is okay, but i really dont see the point in a lot of the stuff english riders do. And quite frankly i think the whole outfit is a little odd looking. No offence to anyone. Just saying.
I'd rather be in a muddy pair of jeans, my boots, a t-shirt, bareback on my horse running through the fields than shopping at a mall any day.
Its called classyness. You don't need to look like you just came back from a mud ride to know how to ride. I ride English, and I ride bareback nearly every-day in the same way you do. The English snobs, brats, and "they don't care about their horses" thing is a complete Biases stereotype. Yeah, I wear Jodphurs. Only because I like the close-contanct between me and my horse.
@queenluciaa i totally agree! i ride english and i have no problem with western. yeah we wear things like breeches and half chaps but we wear them for a reason. and i may be an english rider, but every day i manage to come back from the barn looking like i just trudged through 3 feet of mud..
@CountryGirlTilTheEnd the whole point of riding dates all the way back to ancient Greece. And the entire basis of english riding is called Dressage, which is french for training, and that begins in the mid evil times when they trained horses for war. most of what english riders do is in fact age old military procedures.
Just love horses and riding, western or english, they are both fun, depending on whether your horse likes what it's doing. I grew up western but loved bareback more than anything. Do whatever my horses ended up loving to do. One loved the poles, one loved sidestepping, When I got older I needed an english saddle just cuse they were easier to carry to my horse, Didn't change anything really.
I really don't see how people can say that either is better/harder. Riding horse is riding horse, whether english or western. I could see having different view points on disciplines, such as pleasure vs gaming events vs cutting/reining, etc. because each have different skills. But, when it comes down to it, riding english and riding western is actually pretty equal in my opinion.
I don't think you should include bucking horses in a western video. Tying up a horse's flank and tightening it until it bucks and squirms to escape the pain is hardly horsemanship.
im not being mean or anything but western horses r tough as crap so r english horses but cowwgirls and cowboys r not afraid to get dirt on us and we have some rockin cloths to me both styles r great i just prfere western. i just dont see the point in going that slow around a ring to the nutcracker i love jumping though i have a need for speed so i chose western so im a barrel racer btw u can jump horses in western saddles i do it with my horse and he is very good

Sad to see so many hate comments. I don't believe that this video was intended to say that Western is more powerful or better but just to say that "western is powerful." Niether style is better than the other just different. Western was intended to move cows or trail ride. Dresage is actually a military style. Different styles for different jobs. I like western better but my heros have always been cowboys. However, I love to watch english! Very cool. Now can we just get along?
@forexfreak77 yes! im an english rider but i have no problem with western. i believe that both have equal amounts of "power" it's just that western is power with no disquise (sorry about my horrible spelling) were as in english for show jumping the power is controlled for cross country the power is put into speed and agility and in dressage the power is in a small pretty box. i still enjoy the western riders at my ranch. i dont understand why some of us just cant get along.
@forexfreak77 you to:) i used to race my western riding friends on the river bank by my ranch but nobody cared about which style was better because everyone fell off their horse into the river at one point or another:)
THANK YOU FINALLY SOME ONE UNDERSTANDS!!!!!!!!! lol western over powers english in my book i ride western on my horses and i do gaming i ride bareback too and i gallop bareback on my qh and my thoroughbred
@ElijahHFallonR i can ride bareback better then with western saddle lol if english riders think barrel raceing is easy go watch this video so you think barrel raceing is easy think agian
@blueroanfilly1 i totally agree i watched it so many times and if ur like me better ridin bareback and ride a full gallop in barrels bareback then english riders STILL think its easier there crazy!!!
the "power" of western... i have to say not the best name but why is western any better than english???? its not, and english isnt any better than western.... western riders can jump although western saddles may not be the best choice and english riders can go on trail riding but western saddles is just better to use... i like the pix used in th vid btw
Why?????? Why!!! Why do we always fight?!?!?!?!?! I am really really sick of it. I ride western, and I was so sick of fighting I started riding english (I wasnt a huge fan of it, but thats just me) I barrel race and do horsemanship AND i do DRESSAGE in a western saddle. People its just a saddle!!! I mean really. Can we just be nice for once...):
I like english but that doesnt mean i disagree with the western fans. I think both are hard and fun and fun to watch. I have been doing english for a while so..
I ride both western and english, i prefer the western saddle though just because my horse is better at it. people need to stop putting each other down though!! obviously we all share the same love for horses so why does it matter what saddle we ride in as long as we love horses??
I dont really care about the differences betweem english and western all what matters to me is the relationship between the horse and rider. Because true horsemanship is the most important thing is it not?
@TheSolaceDream i agree if your bond with ur horse is strong enough you can do english or western i prefer western but thats me and btw PEAPOLE STOP FIGHTING ITS TWO STYLES MENT FOR DIFFERNT PEAPOLE MY FRIEND RIDES ENGLISH BUT WE DONT FIGHT GET OFF THE DANG COMP AND GO RIDE YOUR HORSE LIKE IM DOING RIGHT NOW PEACE OUT
@blueroanfilly1 i totally agree. i ride english and have no problem with western, in fact some of my closest friends ride western. all that matters is the bond with the horse which can be achieved by simply saddling/unsaddling, grooming, and bathing the horse yourself.
Ok guys chill! I ride western and I can jump, barrel race, and pole bend... I've ridden english and I like that way too..... But my fav is Western. that doesn't make us different.
Haha I think it's funny how people can stir up such a mess on here lol. Both are pretty awesome but people really? This is a western video: therefore, if you don't really like western then why did you click on it. Anyways nice video. I wish people could just let it go sometimes. lol
its not about what the saddles look like when you jump a horse in a western saddle or the leather, its the fact that a western saddle is to heavy for the horse to go over a 5' jump. i have a western barrel saddle and its really really light almost as light as a english but i still dont jump my horse in it cuz theirs risks. and be sides english looks fun, but im just going to stick to barrel racing but, plez ya'll think of your horse BEFORE you. or ur gunna get hurt! LUV da vid! :D
I wish you people could play nice. I can ride english and western, and there are things in both styles that the other can't even DREAM of doing. Get over yourselves.
@slappymyhorsexoxo curious as to why you can only do english with the new horse? change bits for western he should that is should pick up on the diference. problem with horses is they are animals not machines so no guarenties right. not that it matters your riding and having fun.
@slappymyhorsexoxo go western i hate english only because every time i try to talk to 1 they say shut up western freak so i love western and hate english(no offense its the truth)
@BarrelRacer1485- Aren't you a little stereotypical? Many english riders are bitches yeah, but not all of us. As for me, I work at a cutting ranch so I only get to ride english if a horse just needs to be loped around, or if young'uns need to be taken over trot poles or cavaletties for balance.
@Weaponsmaster8595 ya i have both saddles lol i might like western better but.. in english i can jump and do dressage... dont barral race in english saddles (trust meya fall off to well if your on a horse that can kick some ass!) haha
@horsegrl4eva yea i had that by experience!!!!!! He might be 22 but he was trained all his life for barrels( my friend dared me to) and....... well you know what happend
@BarrelRacer1485 Pathetic. If you can't even spell out simple words, and can't think of a better reason for me to shut up other than 'English sucks' then you clearly don't know what you're talking about. Let's try not to be stereotypical, close-minded teens, shall we?
i agree, western ssaddles arents rly made for jumping... they are WESTERN.. they not desinged for that xD .. but i still jump on trails or over litttle things just for fun.. it works fine ! :P
yeah jumping little things is ok just don't go jumping like 4-5 feet unless you have a saddle without a horn! i'm just trying to keep people safe i ride both & i have jumped western before it works just don't try being all hard core jumper person in a western saddle for your safety and the horses its kinda like English saddles not being meant for barrel racing but i did race in an English saddle this fall because the stirrup on my western saddle broke somehow don't ask long story but it was fun!
People! Western riders can jump, English riders can do on trail rides! IT DOES NOT MATTER! Dont' cuss cuz people disagree, remember the whole 'leather' factor I mentioned earlier! Rodeogirl, alot of english riders don't know that western riders can jump! k? We need to stop being mean to english riders, just cuz they don't know! I mean, IDK how the heck to even mount an english saddle widout falling off and u dont see them being rude 2 ma.
thank you. i dont even ride western any more. i show and ride English. im not going to put either before the other. i made this video before i knew how to make videos and this was the only idea i had at the time.
@Breyerluvr22 if ur talkin bout me as rodeogirl i dont ride english but i do know that western ppl can jump in an western saddle cuz ive done it before......... but if ur not talkin bout me as rodeogirl than ignore this comment... :)
@Breyerluvr22 i agree! im an english rider but thats just my personal prefrance (sorry my spelling sucks). i started off doing western for a couple of weeks but that was years ago and i probably cant mount one now were as i can mount an english saddle with the horse moving in any direction. and know that many western riders can jump and i also know that there are western riders that can go fast and make sharp turns without falling over. people just cant look past their own sport.
i love western had my first lessons on western and it was great !!!!! Much more fun!!! I agree much much much more power!!;) Thanks to my teacher scaring the crap out of me ;) on that horse!
No offence but y is it that alot if the western videos have comments about "English Vs. Western"....and lots if the English videos dont...Well all the ones I have seen
i have ridden both english and western and yeah western takes still but alot of what you can do western (barrels, poles, strait aways, trails, and such) you can do English but i would LOVE to see a western rider jump a 5 ft fence using a western saddle and all i have to say is GOOD LUCK!
yeah, they are not meant to jump in but i can do anything from an English all purpose saddle i just have to lengthen the stirrups to do barrels or i loose my balance a little on tight turns! :) but i have a friend who was riding western on a trail ride and there was a tree that had fallen and her horse loves jumping so he puled her to it and jumped she tried 2 pointing and the horn jabbed into her stomage and she punctured one of her organs and had to get surgery to fix it!
hey, ive taken a jumping class in a western saddle SO SHUPUP IF U DONT KNOW WHAT UR SAYING.... and what if a western person was riding down a trail and you see a 5ft fence what do u do.... YOU JUMP IT.
talk to my friend about that she jumped a log that was about 4ft tall & the horn of her saddle punctured her stomage she was in the hospital for 2 months after surgery ! i do know what i am saying, i have jumped in a western saddle i am just saying that its not what they are meant for originally , if you read my other comments i say that I RIDE BOTH! i love the thrill of western ESPECIALLY a good gallop on the trail or racing around barrels but i also know its not safe to jump western ok!
i agree, english saddles are for jumping, WESTERN SADDLES ARE NOT! you can also hurt the horse if you jump in a western saddle and you cant 2point in a western saddle. western saddles are for speed events. and they make western saddles without horns for trail riding. btw im glad somebody knows what their doing on this page.
thanks for agreeing with me i got really like i guess you could say frustrated cuz i know how dangerous it can be i mean i am 18 and have been riding since i was 6 thats 12 years of riding so when people are like you don't know what you are saying i get a little upset cuz i have been riding longer than some you tube people have been alive!.... i am simply trying to keep all horseback riders safe and these kids come on and start criticizing me for no reason so thanks for the polite comment!
@jberban420 D: didnt mean to vote on this. meant to comment. No, most of us do not jump 5 foot fences in a western saddle, matter of fact i dont think any of us do.. we do occasionally have other things to jump over though natures obstacles; fallen trees, creeks, ect.
@TurnNBurnBaby3- I was responding to another person's comment I believe...and I'm not strictly an english rider, I've been working at a cutting barn for a year now. I understand that fallen tree logs and creeks need to be jumped. I was talking about five foot fences that WILL hurt the horse's back...
OMG people, it;s leather! It's just something you use to ride what you love! I ride western but that doesn't mean I don't have respect for english! Western is hard nd so is english there the same! English- you use muscle and have to feel your horse, especially in dressage. Wetsern- you have to work with your horse and make sure to stay in the saddle in barrel racing and pole bending! Western riders, we seem to start the fights half the time so can we please all stop and with the cussing too!
i ride english and western but mostly english ok. but u know english is waaaay harder than western.. it takes a lot more muscle to. at the beggining where u said that u wrent trying to put english people down. well the end was rude. english has the power and so does western so let people follow there dreams u cant do that when u make a vid showing ones better than the other.
i havent ridden western in years. i made this almost 3 years ago and i had no idea on how to make videos. if don't you like the video, i dont need to here it.
i ahte it when people do this if u like english then watch english vids a same goes for westurn riding and if u like both like me than watch both but dont leave nasty comnts... i for one ride bareback and weaturn but i would like to try english exsept with out all the bits and rains.....good job on vid
No one should put video up about just english or just western or english vs western cause all it does in cause fighting in youtubes horse community =]
@LetsFlyOnceMore GO AWAY. I made this video years and Im sick of people only coming on to it to insult something or someone, one way or another. And Star is the best horse ever, so don't give me anything about how she was broke at 11, her mouth is so scared from them bitting her and tying her to a pole at the age of 1!, she can't have a bit and she hates English as much as i do, you can see it in her face.
CrazyWesternRider 6 months ago
@CrazyWesternRider english, horse abuse?!!!! I'm sorry that happened to your horse and she sounds wonderful, but please don't say that about english, because maybe you have been exposed to some bad english, but english is just a saddle! All riding can be bad, english and western if done incorrectly, but neither is horse abuse if done correctly. And BOTH are not good if done incorrectly :D
Jojogirl641 6 months ago
@Jojogirl641 Well, know that you explained it in the other posts I kinda get it, but Star never will. And I think I will always be horrible at English, Western is for me.
CrazyWesternRider 6 months ago
@CrazyWesternRider How is english horse abuse? I ride english and western and theres nuthin wrong with it! ITs mostly just a matter of what fits you better!
PocosDocBarFury 5 months ago
@PocosDocBarFury Oh Boo Hoo, you are a little late with the reply. I still hate it, and my 90 year old neighbor agrees with me.
CrazyWesternRider 5 months ago
@CrazyWesternRider you still dont tell me how english is horse abuse. and i used to hate it before i actually started riding english but like i said its just a matter on wht fits you better and idc wht your 90 year old neighbor thnks abt it!
PocosDocBarFury 5 months ago
@PocosDocBarFury Oh let me think. Tight Reins in jumping, and in dressage the reins are so tight the horses can barely move it's head. And the horse swishes it's tail all the time.
CrazyWesternRider 5 months ago
@CrazyWesternRider Okk so almost every horse in every diseplene is gunna swish its tail no matter what, i dont do dressage very often but when i did take lessons the horse naturally holds his head like that and in jumping and most other english classes we use very loose reinsss... so learn about what you are talking about before you say stupid crap and make yourself look like an idiot for not knowing what your talking about...
PocosDocBarFury 5 months ago
@PocosDocBarFury I know exactly what I am talking about, and no English rider that I have EVER seen uses a rein that does NOT pull the mouth.
CrazyWesternRider 5 months ago
@CrazyWesternRider you honestly are not very educated on anything related to horses and riding styles. You have no idea what you are talking about. So how about you calm yourself little lying self down and go learn something.
slappymyhorsexoxo 5 months ago
@slappymyhorsexoxo My horse, Star, is so good at barrels I don't have to kick or whip, she goes flat out at one click.I broke her when she was 11. I got her over her fear of people and she had perfect ground manners after 4 months of meeting her. I am breaking a 2 and a half year old Paso rescue for cutting.I broke another Paso out of the habit of rearing at shadows and water. I can get her to calmly walk into a lake. I ride all three of them in a Hackamore, bit-less.
CrazyWesternRider 5 months ago
@CrazyWesternRider They are wonderful, freezing as soon as my butt leaves the saddle. I am also training my 90 year old neighbors 17 h Quarter Horse, who LOVES to buck, Marie has successfully ridden 2 trails with her. I can also ride my retired Rodeo appaloosa horse English over 3ft jumps, we don't go higher because he is a RETIRED RODEO horse.
CrazyWesternRider 5 months ago
@CrazyWesternRider Have you EVER done ANY of that? I think not.
CrazyWesternRider 5 months ago
@CrazyWesternRider Actually i get paid big bucks to retrain horses with issues. Bucking, rearing, bolting and I also break horses. Not every horse can be ridden bitless and it doesnt matter if they can be. If your gentle with the mouth it doesnt matter. there are plenty of people in western that pull on the mouth and spur and whip. Not only in english. And I would love to see you training these horses or jumping your "retired rodeo horse" since you hate english so much. you have issues
slappymyhorsexoxo 5 months ago
@slappymyhorsexoxoI can't show you me training them because they are done, and with Annee I just try and cut whenever we can. and Rodeo Queens Pretty Remarkable Champ is a purebred Appaloosa, who used to do alot of rodeo work. He is almost 20 and the rodeo people say he is to old for rodeo. And I only ride him English because my best friend Shannon is a hunter jumper on Foxy Roxy, so the deal is if I want to ride Roxy I need to be able to jump and have almost flawless English. I am almost there
CrazyWesternRider 5 months ago
@CrazyWesternRider I have problem believing you in any way shape or form. How about you actually put a video if you riding your "flawless" english. And if you hate english so much why do you ride that way? and why are you telling me bout some pure bred horse of reitred rodeo horses? you know, none of your stories match up
slappymyhorsexoxo 5 months ago
@slappymyhorsexoxo You know, believe what you want, but I want to ride Roxy, a 19hh horse, and I can only do it English, and Mark is a pure bred Appaloosa of fine lines. He is a retired rodeo horse and the only one I trust English. And I do plan on a video but my mom took my camera to another state for the weekend, so it will have to wait.
CrazyWesternRider 5 months ago
@CrazyWesternRider 19 hh? do you have any idea how tall that is? No normal horse is 19 hh so stop pretending. And if he is a rodeo horse then why is he english? and say what you want about the video. you never post anything.
slappymyhorsexoxo 5 months ago
@slappymyhorsexoxo Yeah, Roxy is an appendix quarter horse, and she is 19hh. And the vid should be up tomorrow. And as I said before, he is the only horse I trust English
CrazyWesternRider 5 months ago
@CrazyWesternRider a quarter horse that is 19 hh? that is totally BS. just so you know. and you are such a liar.

1233Maya 3 months ago
@CrazyWesternRider and the barn i ride at NOBODY pulls at the horses mouth not in dessage, jumping or ANYTHINGG!!! so not everybody is the same with what they do, not every trainor taches the same and i know people who do pull on the horses mouth and it irritates the crap out of me but not everybody does it and the ppl that ikkk DONT!!!
PocosDocBarFury 5 months ago
@PocosDocBarFury You have to pull the mouth to keep the chin tucked, so unless your horses pose Western, you pull their mouths
and p.s I now this is off topic, but are you familiar with the liars SHARKonlineorg?
CrazyWesternRider 5 months ago
@CrazyWesternRider Like when we train them we try and get them to do it naturally but i dont do the stuff where you HAVE to have the chin tucked i do the stuff that where you just have a level head set thats almost like a western pose but ya kno... and i dont think i am lol
PocosDocBarFury 5 months ago
@PocosDocBarFury Oh, well SHARK says the Cheyenne Frontier Days Rodeo is abuse. I want to go watch one, and how do you keep your horses chins tucked I trained Beauty with a tie down, now a tap on the right shoulder twice and she tucks it
CrazyWesternRider 5 months ago
@CrazyWesternRider Ive heard all kinds of crap about rodeos bein horse abuse cow abuse all that, and quite frankly they are full of complete shit, i ride barrel at rodeos and my cousin and ex bf rides bulls and sometimes i go and help out and work and they never so much as tap the horse the wrong way, except when we ride them i use spurs and sometimes a whip and the home stretch in barrels and poles.
PocosDocBarFury 5 months ago
@CrazyWesternRider and to keep my horses chin tucked im not sure what its called but it liknda like a harness that you see when you drive a buggy but we only use it while they are still young and we train them but after training is over you can kinda milk the reins a little bit and they automattically tuckk their chin so we dont hurt them when we do, but some ppl do yes, but its like that in western too...
PocosDocBarFury 5 months ago
@PocosDocBarFury I think you use Martingales.
CrazyWesternRider 5 months ago
@CrazyWesternRider I do somtimes but its more like a tie down you just attach it to the noseband and then o the saddle, a martingale goes around their neckkk
PocosDocBarFury 5 months ago
@PocosDocBarFury Well I am not a martingale expert, I don't even now what they look like
CrazyWesternRider 5 months ago
@CrazyWesternRider Lol its kinda like a breast plate of a western horse but goes around the top of the neck then ties to the saddle, but it doesnt hurt themmm
PocosDocBarFury 5 months ago
@PocosDocBarFury OK, and who said tie downs and things hurt the horses?
CrazyWesternRider 5 months ago
@CrazyWesternRider Huhh??? Cause hnestly they dont unless you put them on to tight and they are pinching the skinn
PocosDocBarFury 5 months ago
@CrazyWesternRider Huhh??? Cause hnestly they dont unless you put them on to tight and they are pinching the skinn
PocosDocBarFury 5 months ago
@PocosDocBarFury "but it doesnt hurt themmm" So I was confirming that they didn't
CrazyWesternRider 5 months ago
@CrazyWesternRider No, a martingale does not hurt them, and a breast collar/plate for a western horse doesnt unless you put it around them to tight. Martingales are usually for more control but it doesnt hurt them

@slappymyhorsexoxo There are many horses who aren't started till later in their life for multiple reasons or it could be that she restarted the horse due to bad training, behavior or another reason. And no not eveyrone starts their horses that young my secondary barn doesn't start their horses in saddle till they are 5-6 but do loads of ground work up till then.

It's not about what's better. Everyone has their preferences.
But you all need to realize, who cares about the saddle you're sitting in?
It's about the love for the horse and the passion for the sport.

CountryGirlTilTheEnd 1 year ago
@CountryGirlTilTheEnd
Only because I like the close-contanct between me and my horse.
queenluciaa 1 year ago
@queenluciaa i totally agree! i ride english and i have no problem with western. yeah we wear things like breeches and half chaps but we wear them for a reason. and i may be an english rider, but every day i manage to come back from the barn looking like i just trudged through 3 feet of mud..
DragonHeart956 1 year ago
@CountryGirlTilTheEnd the whole point of riding dates all the way back to ancient Greece. And the entire basis of english riding is called Dressage, which is french for training, and that begins in the mid evil times when they trained horses for war. most of what english riders do is in fact age old military procedures.
DragonHeart956 1 year ago
@ animallover01111 SCREW those English riders!!! They learned from US the western riders!
cowgirlskickass7628 1 year ago

FallenPast1177 1 year ago
western looks like sooo much fun :D I think I would totally do either reining or barrels as the next discipline I do :DDD
amystrahan 1 year ago
I don't think you should include bucking horses in a western video. Tying up a horse's flank and tightening it until it bucks and squirms to escape the pain is hardly horsemanship.

Very cool. Now can we just get along?
forexfreak77 1 year ago 14
@forexfreak77 yes! im an english rider but i have no problem with western. i believe that both have equal amounts of "power" it's just that western is power with no disquise (sorry about my horrible spelling) were as in english for show jumping the power is controlled for cross country the power is put into speed and agility and in dressage the power is in a small pretty box. i still enjoy the western riders at my ranch. i dont understand why some of us just cant get along.

the "power" of western... i have to say not the best name but why is western any better than english???? its not, and english isnt any better than western.... western riders can jump although western saddles may not be the best choice and english riders can go on trail riding but western saddles is just better to use... i like the pix used in th vid btw

its not about what the saddles look like when you jump a horse in a western saddle or the leather, its the fact that a western saddle is to heavy for the horse to go over a 5' jump. i have a western barrel saddle and its really really light almost as light as a english but i still dont jump my horse in it cuz theirs risks. and be sides english looks fun, but im just going to stick to barrel racing but, plez ya'll think of your horse BEFORE you. or ur gunna get hurt! @slappymyhorsexoxo curious as to why you can only do english with the new horse? change bits for western he should that is should pick up on the diference. problem with horses is they are animals not machines so no guarenties right. not that it matters your riding and having fun.

yeah jumping little things is ok just don't go jumping like 4-5 feet unless you have a saddle without a horn! i'm just trying to keep people safe i ride both & i have jumped western before it works just don't try being all hard core jumper person in a western saddle for your safety and the horses its kinda like English saddles not being meant for barrel racing but i did race in an English saddle this fall because the stirrup on my western saddle broke somehow don't ask long story but it was fun!
sop1toalto2 2 years ago
People! Western riders can jump, English riders can do on trail rides! IT DOES NOT MATTER! Dont' cuss cuz people disagree, remember the whole 'leather' factor I mentioned earlier! Rodeogirl, alot of english riders don't know that western riders can jump! k? We need to stop being mean to english riders, just cuz they don't know! i have ridden both english and western and yeah western takes still but alot of what you can do western (barrels, poles, strait aways, trails, and such) you can do English but i would LOVE to see a western rider jump a 5 ft fence using a western saddle and all i have to say is GOOD LUCK!
sop1toalto2 2 years ago
that would suck because the horn..!!
I do both and have jumped in a western saddle...no fun :/
Luv2ride808 2 years ago
yeah, they are not meant to jump in but i can do anything from an English all purpose saddle i just have to lengthen the stirrups to do barrels or i loose my balance a little on tight turns! :) but i have a friend who was riding western on a trail ride and there was a tree that had fallen and her horse loves jumping so he puled her to it and jumped she tried 2 pointing and the horn jabbed into her stomage and she punctured one of her organs and had to get surgery to fix it!

talk to my friend about that she jumped a log that was about 4ft tall & the horn of her saddle punctured her stomage she was in the hospital for 2 months after surgery ! i do know what i am saying, i have jumped in a western saddle i am just saying that its not what they are meant for originally , if you read my other comments i say that I RIDE BOTH! i love the thrill of western ESPECIALLY a good gallop on the trail or racing around barrels but i also know its not safe to jump western ok!
sop1toalto2 2 years ago
i agree, english saddles are for jumping, WESTERN SADDLES ARE NOT! you can also hurt the horse if you jump in a western saddle and you cant 2point in a western saddle. western saddles are for speed events. and they make western saddles without horns for trail riding. btw im glad somebody knows what their doing on this page.
HEYZWHATSZUPZ21 2 years ago
thanks for agreeing with me i got really like i guess you could say frustrated cuz i know how dangerous it can be i mean i am 18 and have been riding since i was 6 thats 12 years of riding so when people are like you don't know what you are saying i get a little upset cuz i have been riding longer than some you tube people have been alive!.... i am simply trying to keep all horseback riders safe and these kids come on and start criticizing me for no reason so thanks for the polite comment!

you jump 5 foot fences in a western saddle? your poor horse...its bad for their backs. they make jumping saddles for a reason.
jberban420 2 years ago 3
