Great rendition of my favorite Chicago song. Lamm IS where he belongs. He wrote the song and I'm 99% sure he played guitar in the recording. As great as Kath was he never did play the song right. I love Chicago but Tris Imboden will never replace Danny Seraphine. And please Tris, get a haircut. You look like a caveman. The fill in trumpet player did a great job on the solo too. They've been having replacement players lately for the horn section. Age could be catching up to them.
Pankow, Parazaider and Loughnane do not play all concerts nowadays and sometimes take a few off here and there. Last July in SJ the whole band was intact with EWF but seeing them in Sacramento in 2008, 2/3 of the horn section had replacements
I saw this tour at the Paso Robles Mid-State fair.Only Robert Lamm was where he belonged playing the piano.Also.Lee was playing the trumpet.Nice concert.Wish I saw them back in the 70's with the original band.Still good, though.Thanx for the posting.
I may have finally solved the Loughnane mystery. While his name in in the credits for this tape, I believe that it is Steve Jankowski on trumpet in these videos.
Excuse me, that is Lee Thornburg on Trumpet in all of these videos. He did work with Tower of Power and Supertramp. He also been a fill in for Loughnane recently too.
I believe this was performed while Loughnane's wige was in Labor. If I could know the exact date but it was during this same tour. Lee is what? 65? lol
He is great Thornberg is a great player as well thanjs for the correction
In recent years, Loughnane has taken on a growing leadership role in the band. He has directed Chicago's remastering effort of its song catalogue, and he provides on-stage leadership during live performances. He is the member of the band who is the most gracious and outwardly friendly during live performances.Loughnane comes from a large family. He currently lives in Branson, Missouri with his wife and young son
Time passes way to quickly. Hard to believe this video is from 20 years ago almost. I hate getting old, but I love great music like this!

Thornburgh sounds pretty solid on his solo. Nice tasty solo with a few high notes mixed in. I like it!

I agree, this was a great era for the band for the "rocking" side of Chicago.
