I got obsessed trying to find out who sang it. The next several days were spent constantly listening to the radio. The next night it was number 1 again and I finally learned it was Alanis. After I found out it was Alanis, she gained my respect as an amazing/talented singer for the rest of my life.

I remember this song when it first came on the radio. It was a brand new debut song of the night. It had already became the most requested song of the night within 1 hour of its first local radio airplay. I don't like very many songs the first time I listen to them. This one was a rare exception. I knew about Alanis and already loved her music. The night this came on the radio back in 1997 I didn't know who was singing it but I knew I GOT COLD CHILLS within seconds of it playing.

@wvfrontiergirl I don't think this is true. Alanis wrote this song, inspired by the story told in "City of Angels"...I remember her mention in an interview that the lyrics came naturally to her after watchin the movie.

I love everyones perspective of this song. It can be about anything really, but for me (my perspective) its about the devil or some type of demon. Incredible voice. Sad that she is not as popular as she once was. Jagged Little Pill was one of the best albums of the 90's without question.
