The show is a metaphor of simplicity. It's simple art, simple humor, and it's simple characters reflect our simple life. The whole show is just a symbolism just enjoying your simple life.
You make excellent points, but Lucky Star is too easy to bash. It's not a show to be taken so seriously. It's like one of those shows you see on TV when there's nothing else to watch. I really hate the slice of life genre. It's agonizing to watch. Anime was awesome at first because it opened up a format to tell huge epic stories. Now it's...this. I'm proud to say I haven't seriously watched anime anime for about 10 years now.

@xxrubes12xx Neither of those two belong in a series called "What's Wrong with Anime" though. Ouran isn't the greatest show ever, but it's decent and can be rather funny. Durarara is, in my opinion, one of the better anime that's been produced since 2000. It'd be like him reviewing Madoka. (Waits for him to then immediately review Madoka.)

If you really wanna do a show that has something wrong with it do Midori Days. I liked that show but it was a kinda wtf is this sorta feeling. Or Kampfer. Ugh... Why do people always praise Azumanga Daioh so much? Such an aged slice-of-life. I've seen way better slice-of-life than that. The character designs for LS DO look better in the anine than the manga. Having fluid animation is very expensive and the style is simplistic, just like the manga. So it works. Lucky Star clearly has a higher budget than AD. KyoAni is known for their high quality animation and LS shows it.

All your critiques are accurate and spot on but I think your question as to: "Why the hell do people like this crap?" I'd assume it's the references to otaku culture and the Kawaii factor that bring people into this series. A lot of people have compared it to the show Seinfeld because it's a show about nothing. Nothing being no plot line, just recurring themes and pop culture references.

Personally, I would've put Pani Poni Dash in the same league of piss-poor anime as Lucky Star.

@stargirl1254 ignore what he said about the anime. gurren laggan is a awesome anime. Simon have character development. and kamina is cool in his own special way. The megas are very original. and the girl that dresses like s slut. She is not a slut. The more I think of it, I think he didn't even watch the anime once. I think he just skim gurren laggon on a wiki or on the encyclopedia.

@comin40 I know, I prefer to judge for myself. I also noticed that on the Death Note review, he said Light was terrible because he was a narcissistic and whiny villain, when the WHOLE POINT of Death Note was about Light being like that.

Lucky star is made of ass. I watched it twice. the only good reference that i found hilarious was the Patlabor one.
Panty and stocking may have been excessive and hilarious, and i admit i felt a bit bad for watching it, but it was pretty damn funny.

Ugh... Why do people always praise Azumanga Daioh so much? Such an aged slice-of-life. I've seen way better slice-of-life than that. The character designs for LS DO look better in the anine than the manga. Having fluid animation is very expensive and the style is simplistic, just like the manga. So it works. Lucky Star clearly has a higher budget than AD. KyoAni is known for their high quality animation and LS shows it.

All your critiques are accurate and spot on but I think your question as to: "Why the hell do people like this crap?" I'd assume it's the references to otaku culture and the Kawaii factor that bring people into this series. A lot of people have compared it to the show Seinfeld because it's a show about nothing. Nothing being no plot line, just recurring themes and pop culture references.

I actually find it kind of funny that people get so upset over these reviews- myself included. In retrospect, your kind of like a self-unaware troll. You post videos that piss people off, fully expecting people to be angry, and you succeed. But you don't do it for the lulz- you actually think your opinion is THAT valuable. It's a common misconception on the internet, but you're practically a textbook example.
