The L15 is i-vtec so there isnt any ''kick''. The i-VTEC (intelligent-VTEC) has continuously variable camshaft, that's why.

Basically, there is an extra cam lobe and lifter. The lifter doesn't operate a valve, but at a certain RPM it locks with the other lifters, making the valves open more. Its better on DOHC engines because the SOHC vtecs only have that lifter on the intake valves because the spark plugs get in the way or something like that.

The person I was talking to above stated his sisters Prelude would beat my M3. I then stated you would need a turbo in that prelude to trap over 105. To trap 105 in an N/A honda is fairly expensive. Most stock weight, internally stock Honda motors never come close to those traps. Unless boosted that is. So again your stupid. Don't waste my time.

It depends on what you think is a good motor. Most car enthusiasts don't think Honda's run great stock compared to competition. I'll do a quick run down of the cars you listed.

Nsx- slow for price (911, Viper, Vette, M3 etc are faster)

Type R's- hmmm the Wrx, Cobalt SS, Mazdaspeed3 etc are all faster

Inspire/Legend-Aren't known for there engines, more for being oddities

S2000- Cars in its price range are better. Sti, evo, Z4 etc

Del Sol/Prelude- mid 15 second cars.

There decent, but not great.

That is one reason why i decided to buy a versa SL cvt auto. By all means the versa is not fast at all, but imagine loading this thing with 5 people + luggage and hills= roll backwards, lol! btw my versa is at least 10 seconds faster than your car to the same speed. You average 46 mpg. I can see that possible if lots of highway driving at 55 mph and lots of 1 lane back roads done at 45mph. The highest mileage on my versa that i have recorded has been 42 mpg, but i usually get 33-34 normally

Yes, a 1.5 liter, 109 horse power engine doesn't exactly break the land-speed record, but mine (with my feather foot) averages 46 miles per gallon (way beyond the revised EPA estimate.) What do all you "motorheads" get per gallon? You'll all be in the Honda showroom when petrol hits five or six dollars per gallon. Tools.
