Jokers! They just wan to see a fight. Kids don't buy comics anymore...CRASH! BAM! WH-KOOM! Dont cut it no more. 80's babies are ther last gen of comic buyer/readers. Kids watch cut-scenes in games and get annoyed!!!
Loved the Greg Horn rant. The covers by that guy are such pathetic attempts to seduce sexually frustrated fanboys out of their money... No real artistry present.
Just thinking about Osborn and this whole this whole "brand new day...er sorry...Dark Reign"....but isn't Osborn pretty much playing the same character as Tony Stark did for 2 years?...except with worse hair....
I mean he's got Stark Industries, HAMMER aka SHIELD and he's even wearing an Iron Man costume.....the marvel universe hasn't changed...its just the illusion of change...which indicates that either bendis is making a point about the nature of politics....or is just lazy...hmmm...
The Hood thing leaves me feeling uneasy. I get the feeling that Team Hood is going to be what distracts/disrupts the NA from taking real action to the DA until some DEM makes the NA magically own Team Hood, thus negating all the actual admirable work Bendis has put into the Hood.
...course, that's just me being a pessmist for the future.
$100? You know that's pocket money to a 'real' author at Marvel. I mean just look at Jeph Loeb. You think responding to demands for $100 affords you having work done on your house while having a multi-hour interview? Obviously not.
Ironically I love the drivel that is pointless dialogue. But that's because I'm a KShead who can gain characterization w/o lifting a finger. Still, NA feels fake. Which is a new load of complaints when you think it over.
See, this why I'm such a devoted viewer, CWW, for your reviews save me from wasting my hard earned cash on BS! To think, I nearly picked up NA last week out of need to be a completist. HA!
thank you guys, I don't think I have much to add, you pretty much covered everything I hated about this book, which pretty much was everything about this book.
So, this is comic genious? Superheroes standing around talkn', watching tv, and then trying to runaway when danger comes there way?
Are these the Avengers, or the Great Lakes Avengers? They're a bunch of Fuck-Up's! And they shouldn't be because all of them are seasoned heroes!
What I really hated abou the book was the inflection dialouge during the fight. Spider-Man fighting Dr Daemonicus all the while he's complaining to himself. What the Hell? This is classic Spidey? Him being a whiny bitch
You know what's worse? The fights end only promises yet ANOTHER confrontation between the Hood and The NA since nothing of consequence happens! Damn. This books sucks ass at the moment.
Yep. Horns page did look terrible and I share you affinity for Aja's artistry. I'd be a bit wry aboutr DD next week, though, since there won't be much else beside Kingpins sought after rendemtion after a life of crime. Based on reviews it doesn't even appear that DD himself appears beyond a mere flashback panal. If you love the Kingpin, though, its a good buy.
David Aja's art was probably the best thing about NA 50, I'd probably trade wait DD though, Brubakers story moves pretty slowly so picking up a single issue is probably pointless.
how long have you been watching for the confrontation? its only 2 issues into dark avengers plus that was a smart move by stormin norman . come on i loved the dialogue about the new venom ive heard fans say pretty much the same thing
i lve his dialogue i think finally some writer had someone say that
Gotta disagree here, 10 pages of talking heads does not an Avengers comic make.
Bendis's dialogue on Powers is great because its a police procedural and he's got the voice of the characters. His dialogue on the Avengers has this forced wittiness where every character starts to sound the same.
The Avengers in NA 50 almost seems to have a hive mind where they were having run on sentances and finishing each others sentances. With all the jibber jabber it felt like a pretty lacklustre issue
I've come to the conclusion that Bendis loves the sound of his own voice within the writing of characters, he's like a demented Jeff Goldbloom obesed with the minutia of verbose conversation about squat.

Comic books stories are all too often excuses to draw superhumans fighting each other.

Seriously, Jose, tell us how you really feel. I hate when you hold back. Just let loose bro. lol
And thanks alot El. You just gave Bendis a reason to do a Capt. Marvel spotlight issue featuring the Shazam-wow cape. Good job.

I thought that NA #50 was great!
the art was really good except of Greg Horn repulsive art!
I pretty much figure out before reading this issue that the NA and the DA won't fight but the Hood VS NA fight was good.
The David Aja art on Iron Fist was Amazing! he have to go back on the series
Next Week he is going to do the art for Daredevil #116 which from the previews look amazing.
