  • haaaaay...too tired to watch your video. very short and cannot find exactly step by step. anyway thank you!

  • wth straight up...she isn't holding it straight up? she seemed like she is cutting it random..I don't think there is much information here at all

  • I like this video ^^

  • someone had to much coffee!

hahaha but thanks for your videos, your intentions seem sincere :))

  • Thus is supposed to be a techniqu for cutting layers into curly hair? I don't want to insult you @ all, but the idea is NOT to cut the curls away and from what I can see, you are doing a basic long layer cut. There is a technique for cutting curly hair for those who do not wish to loose that curl-ie; slide, notch cutting, but never just straight across the guide. You know how to cut-can't deny that, but this is not a cut for curly hair.

  • @KKBEACHAIR you do not know how to cut curly hair either!

  • to fast and can't see what direcction she's cutting..........

  • Hi Liz if I was in Hollywood I would def come to you...do you take walk ins?

  • is that a manican head? or do u jerk peoples heads around?

  • She's talking very fast.

  • @TinosOfSweden no you hear slow

  • @golddigger0325

maybe, but in other hand, I'm not really listening.

  • no offense but this lady is very difficult to watch, she's actually making me anxious just watching her. I understand that she's in front of the camera and wants to show everyone how great she is, but come on! She's scary to watch!

  • for a help video she went way too fast and her sections are way too big

the angle of the head changes and she wasn't holding the hair consistantly

  • did anyone else think this video was not helpful and slightly laughable?

  • Try explaining your cuts in technical terms. ( elevation, overdirection, finger angle, scissor angle, traveling guid lines or stationary guidelines. ) I think these terms are going to help in other professionals being able to follow along. sincerely P~

  • I feel sorry 4 anyone who has to cut my hair. Its curly, puffy and really frizzy.

Any idea for a haircut 4 me??

    I have an oval face

  • this should be all one video or at least labeled 1-2-3....

i have no idea what order to watch and have therefore learned nothing

  • This is EXACTLY how to cut layers into curly hair. When the hair is down, you want the layers to lay at a 45 degree angle away from the head like this: //()\\ You never want layers cut at 45 degrees into the head because then the curls will pile on top of itself like this: \\()// . Your hair shape will end up looking like a diamond shape. AND you have to cut curly hair wet, if it's dry you will split the ends. Finally DON'T ever razor cut or straight blade cut curly hair unless you want frizz

  • @s1h1a1r1o1n1 you're right about the razor but wrong about the dry cutting. You can absolutely cut curly hair dry! It's actually recommended to cut a persons hair dry and already curly if they intend to style it curly. This way you see how the hair lays naturally. This ensures a proper cut so you don't give the girl a crazy cut with WAY too much weight in the ends.

  • jasmo23: My hair is thick and coarse. I've tried cutting it dry and it was a disaster! My ends split really badly. I suppose if it were more thin, then the dry cut would work. You're right, though, avoiding the weight on the bottom is key! =)

  • Many places use and teach different tecniques for cutting hair but i can't see how the description to cut hair straight up is accurate when the tutor is actually overdirecting the hair before making her cut.

  • that is so true, i didnt get anything out of the tut, she was talking really fast and didnt really explain clearly

  • i dont see how this is a tut because she was talking way 2 fast..but hey oh well..

  • I would let this woman cut my hair.

  • I wouldnt

  • When I was younger, I always had my hair wet when it was cut. But I think it's becoming more common to have hair dry or mostly dry due to studies showing that hair is at its weakest point when wet, so they cut it dry to avoid damage.

Personally, I prefer to have my hair at least a little damp. I have curly hair, and it makes it easier for the stylist (I think) to cut evenly.

  • I love how she talks lol

  • hi all check my dvd's to learn great hairdressing

  • hair cutters will cut hair wet or dry acording to how they learned to do it. there is no right or wrong way to, each individual hair stylist will do it the way they find it easiest, and the way they have done it for years since they would that way be able to handle and manage cutting it better.

  • she wants the hair...UP

  • ....straight UP

  • i cant see anything except writing

  • i cut my curly hair when its dry. i really have no problem doing it. im about to try the layered look. my hairs long and curly and its been this way for almost 3 years. time for something new.

  • Sharpen your scissors and the hair won't move wet or dry...Invest!!!

  • I love her shes so sweet!

  • it was great , thank you so much , but I wish you set number for them then we could find the next video easily , and I could not find how you open then and how it will look like at end

  • hi.. could you show how to cut side bangs for long curly hair?

    Your vids are really informative..

  • i know she stresses me out

  • LOL, so its not just me. Not even showing us what she's doing!

  • She reminds me of the instructors at beauty school, but much scarier.

  • pleeeease, curls should be cut dry! dammit when are hairdressers gonna learn!

  • no they shouldnt be cut DRY. they can be cut either way. but especially with curly hair it is a lot easier to cut any hair wet, especially CURLY HAIR. and it will make the cutting more accurate with it wet. I know this because i am a hairstylist. but yh, u can cut curly hair dry. u can cut any hair dry, it is just a lot better and easier if u cut it wet. x

  • not all the time...

if the hair has a lot of different textures throughout, you can't tell when wet. therefore it will look funny unless you cut it dry!

  • I disagree completely about cutting hair dry. When the hair is dry the scissors tend to push the hair, therefore your cuts are not as accurate. The only time I ever cut hair dry, is when someone has very split ends. When the hair is dry is when you can see the split ends, then after getting all the split ends, I wet the hair and make sure all my cuts are even. I have been doing all kinds of different hair types for 18 years.

  • The scissors wont push the hair if you cut each individual curl. There's a technique called deva cutting that centers around cutting curly hair dry.

  • Sorry but how do you want to cut curly hair when they are dry? You cannot even comb them, so how do you want to cut exactly?

  • you are wrong.

cutting curly hair when it's wet ruins the way that it falls naturally.

  • tary...ur wrong...i have curly hair and i got it cut short in layers while wet AND it looks really nice...doesnt ruin anything...ur hair is probably just ugly.

  • @tarynhamburger does it really??

  • @tarynhamburger

That's right, the method she uses ruins natural curl definition.

  • nooo cutting curly hair when its wet is healthier for the hair..cutting curly hair when its dry causes more split ends

  • @tarynhamburger

Honestly, it is EXTREMELY difficult to cut curly hair dry. You are suppose to cut it wet and hold it with little tension. If you were to cut it dry and that person has super curly hair, it would not be even and would not look right if they were to straighten their hair. Congratulations, you're another person who thinks they know something about cutting hair and doesn't. Just because what you're saying sounds good, doesn't mean it is.

  • Not necessarily. It depends on your hair. I only cut my hair when I straighten it (my hair is naturally curly) because there's a certain way I want my hair to look when it's straight. I really don't care how my hair looks when it's curly.

  • I agree with omgaw. I too have curly hair. And I like my hair to look even and pretty while straight. So cutting my hair while straight and dry is the way to go for me. I just use my curling iron to go over any uneven locks if I decide to go natural;D.

  • shes very fun =]

  • why is she so angry? I feel like shes a drill sargent not hair dresser. ahh shut up woman!

  • i want her to cut my hair.

  • I agree with jimitheguitarist..."Just Keep doing That"..I can't even see what she's doing?

  • A HOT MESS.

  • this video makes me feel more stressed than informed sorry

  • shes very fun =]

my hair stylist cuts my hair for a longer time to get it PERFECT...and she does =D yay. finally found someone who can cut curly hair =]
