It IS true. The tank can break doors if someone removed the lock.

Its normal, tank will smash the door even its lock. Try it on single player, inside the saferoom, spawn outside a tank, he will smash the door, no need to unlock. The hint for no reload weapon, after shooting, when reloading, select a weapon again and then its full reloaded again. Make sure tank is not on you.

If you look carefully you can actually see the door break open. I've had situations where a tank burst through the starting safe house...and it wasn't pretty X_X

either the guy playing bill opened the door, or the more likely way (since i doubt anyone is that dumb in l4d O.o) is the safe room door's anti camper feature. if removed the steel bar in online play (im assuming that was online), the safe room door will only stay closed for a short time, eventually itll open on its own and stay open o.o

you're not supposed to stay in the starting safe room or the tank will just knock it down. Otherwise if you kneel infront of the door and keep pressing forward, he can't break it down. And in some cases, this doesn't even always work either. (Because he can slap your ass through the door.)
