I have been a fanatic RTS gamer for decades now and Supreme Commander Forged Alliance beats them all. The epic feel of the battles in this game are without equal, even now, several years after it was released.

Nothing can describe the feeling of accomplishment when you complete the building of a long range artillery piece, or when you send an experimental onto the battlefield.

And nothing can describe the feeling horror when an enemy experimental crawls out of the sea near your base. Sublime!

I have a friend who is in love with Command and Conquer and Starcraft series, and thinks this game is lame compared to them. Does he not realize how epic great battles and strategy can get you to? @ilovenukes4eva The games effects are wonderful in comparison the original SupCom, where the explosions were utter garbage. They were just flashes, only seeing nukes go off was semi-satisfying. SupCom 2 succeeds where SupCom 1 failed in most parts - matches no longer take ridiculous amounts of time online, units no longer require 500 engineers to build at a decent rate, the economy, while simplified is nice (Original was good but required far too much MM) Units all look bad in this one. :\

This game can bring a Core i7 to its knees you have to set limits on map size and unit size to suit your spec it is multi threaded so it will run the Ai on 4 cores but will still start to lag if you have crazy huge battles.

The easiest way to beatthis game is to play UEF and use the experimental artillery

and target the enemy com wit hit

and use your engineers to capture an Aeon engineer to create the paladin generator and surround that with thirteen shield generators and just create massive epic armies.

You can capture engineers and usethem to buid their regular buildings, thats why i always capture one and build a factory right away.

@DJMetalstone yeah, if you capture one, you have the potential to be able to build all of the stuff of the captured fractions vehicle. So, if you build a factory, then upgrade it and you can build all the things they normally can, too.

AND using artillery like that is not always the best against other human players, although against AI it actually is, even against Sorian AI (well, if you survive its waves and Nukes, that is)

Because of the area of effect it damages nearly all shields simultaneously. And since any Bomber fleet i encountered had no less than about 150 strategic bombers, the shields will not hold :)

you don't only put shield generators. you create flak and sam lines with heavy anti-air branching out and creating an ultra effective bomber killer. and also keep some tech3 fighters in the air

@spearoflife I already knew that this kind of answer would come up. however, Anti-Air-Guns are not fast enough. of course, they will shoot themall down, but most of the bombers will throw at least one bomb, that will do for breaking through the shields and destroying the target. And nobody is so stupid not escorting them by tech3 fighters.

I mean, you're not wrong at all, the strategy is very effective, but a human player will adapt to that strategy soon.

True but if you still have the paladain generator up (you always hide it somewhere remote) than you can engineers and mass produce experimental in about 50 seconds each. do this for a while and assualt them to hell.

Again this weakness is it depends on the paladin generator staying alive which can be hard to do.

And in case of them tryig to bomb your experimentals put them under water

@BinRandom well, no. the best way is to get a multi-core CPU, Vista32 or higher (no, not because i like it, but because it is able to adress more memory), and get lots of RAM with highest possible FSB (well, it has to fit to your processor/mainboard though)

but you can get more speed, if you use your engineers/sACUs to recycle wrecks and Trees. or play with/against humans *g*

but has no AA. The Spider bot has AA, a very powerfull lasergun, I love to use it AND a few cannons for longer range. I think it its the best.

Fatboy is nice.. but weak in close combat and when its shield is down, its done for. The Assault bot of the Aeon is very nice but a few air attacks will have it down in no time.
