  • warmer rubato as well as acoustic

  • I wish it was warmer. Is there a readable (ordinary modern score) version for sale anywhere?

  • Excelent!!!

  • People need to stop taking things so "liberaly".... Smarten up, Christians are for the most part the most peacefull people on earth today(at least the countrys found on Christian morals) - probably always have been. Just dont piss us off while we are trying to help others around the globe and the Templars wont have to come out from behind closed doors again

  • If you whold look in the history, you whold have found out that both the Assassin's Order and the Templar order existed , Both did great things for the human kind, and both did horrbile deeds for the cause they belived in , so do not be so quick to jundge

  • Makes me miss singing bass in choir...I remember when I had a voice something like the bottom end on this track.

  • speaking latin doesnt make you cool

  • Perdens infideles - est non peccatum ... Est viam ad caelum.

  • in reality the christian church has had its flaws. history can prove that but i am a catholic and i believe no religion is perfect but also every religion has a little grain of truth. but all relgions are equal

  • @crazypete44

Lol. The Catholic church is still very corrupt.

  • Templars †

  • @RAFOomph

Templars were evil. Study your history, son.

  • @asoupest Surely, you are trolling... either that or you consider Assassin's Creed to be an accurate rendition of history. I assure you that it is not.

  • @asoupest you know little more than what you get from the liberal God haters. The fact is that the Templars went to the middle east to ensure that the holy land was safe for people to go. Its the heathen muslim pegans that through thier false prophet believe its good to kill christians.

  • @emal7717 And we returned the favor killing women and children in the name of Christ Chanting "God Wills It!" So how are we any different?

  • @asoupest It is obvious that you are the one in need of a history lesson.

  • rise for the 8th crusade!

  • @XAMSEEX thats already heppend in Iraq

  • @piousone

Their devotion was true. But their demise was caused by the debt of a greedy pope. You need to accept that Christianity is flawed by the sins of corrupted popes and rulers. Get your facts right.

  • I've never stated the Church is pure in its purpose, but the Church has helped millions. I look at ALL the Church's actions, and not just condemn them based on a narrow-minded agendized assertion. The Templars would never have been in the situation with the French King Phillippe the Fair had they not become obsessed with obtaining land and wealth. They were the cause, the effect was Phillippe the fair. I suggest you examine facts before you question mine.

  • These men were true Christians, not the ones you see today harming others and looking down on others. These men fought to defend the poor, the weak, the helpless. I am not Christian myself, but I hold the highest respect for the Templar! Hail!

  • You may not be one of us by choice, but you are certainly one of us in spirit. Today, many of us (Chrisitans) still remember the teachings of the Savior. We remember His message of love and unity, and how He sacrificed His Blood so that we may all be saved from sin. The Templar Knights at first were dedicated to that purpose, but then they strayed. Nevertheless, we should remember them for their devotion, and let their demise serve as a lesson for what happens when we forget our purpose.

  • @piousone The Templar did not stray or forget their purpose, they were in fact too good at what they did and thusly Philip IV and Pope Clement V conspired against them. Christianity is flawed and damns its most humble and forthright servants. Hail the Templar, to hell with the Church.

  • @GrimNFrostbitten Not everyone who attends church is truly a christian, nor is every non-attendee an infidel or pagan.

Though as to the executions, I particularly like the end of that tale, where the last grandmaster prayed to God while being put to flame, praying that the true traitors would brought to justice, the Pope and King Philip both died mysteriously and unexpectedly within a year of those executions.

  • While he was burning at the stake, Jacques de Molay, the last Templar Grand Master, made the prounouncement that both King Phillippe the Fair and Pope Clement V would follow him in death within a year. King Phillippe was killed in a hunting accident, and Pope Clement V died supposedly of heart failure. Perssonally, I believe the Templar Shirkers, the Grand Master's covert arm of the Templars, had a hand in both demises. Thank God for them, if that is so.

  • You're out of line with such a blanket accusation against the Church. The Church has not always been noble or chaste in many of its actions, but that is no reason to condemn it. The Templars did amass wealth beyond measure, thus they did stray from their purpose. Pope Clement V was a puppet of King Phillippe the Fair. The Templars died a noble, collective death, and they are remembered for their service, but we should not forget their weyward ways. I hail the Templars for their brave deeds.

  • This song depresses the hell out of me and reminds me of a lot of things I regret. Very eloquent music because of the emotional reaction.

O clemens, o pia, o dulcis Virgo Maria.
  • @TibGabinius Amen.

  • meus frater est meus frater

  • What I love is that this has the genuine Templar seal, "so poor that they can only share one horse"

  • @shogunSCHOLAR23 that's awesome well spotted ;)

  • So it means that if a song is made years and years before, it is not used by someone else years and years later? There are hundreds of songs around the world adopted by the modern military that were made along time ago. The Templars held Virgin Mary, mother of Jesus in high honor, hence Salve Regina. Mary is the queen to the catholic fate. So maybe the original purpose of the song was not to praise Holy Virgin Mary, but it was later adopted to this use by the Knights Templar.

  • This is so beautiful, thank you for posting it !

  • how incredible is how those people risked her lives for their faith ... Epic

  • the christians have nukes the muslims dont if they want to start. just a thought

  • @rustler69 And how do you ensure that they do not have nukes? Nukes are being sold everywhere and anyone can purchase any if he got the money required. of course the matter are being done in secrecy, and suppose they don't, nukes are not only mass destruction weapons. and states can have whatever they want and whenever they want. The matter is not to have it or not, yet the matter is, are you able to use it?

  • I listen to this every time I write. Never fails to put me in the mood.

  • @PepperoniWolf I listen it every time i build SOMETHING in minecraft ,it is realy a masterpiece.

  • i am a working medium and work closely with the knights templar i find this video truly magical and spiritually uplifting..thankyou.xxx

  • In all actuality this hymn has nothing to do with the crusades or templars at all. But the pictures are still cool to look at lol

  • When the song got to its end, I felt as if an enormous black out has came into my entire spirit. As if I had listened to the supreme beauty during 4 minutes, and as turning back into reality, I felt myself bad...

  • @Pilusmagnus

    What?

  • Salve Regina! in pacem ....

  • j'adore ca! Magnifique!!

  • Oh my God O.o I..i'm lovin it ^^

  • To Whom it May Concern: To those who say to focus on the music, I agree. The music is a Catholic hymn, expressing undying loyalty to the Virgin Mary, mother most blessed and protectoress of the Holy Roman Catholic Church. So please, focus on the music and receive its message.

  • @AugustFirst1927 the music not the message, don't contradict yourself, like the music, not the message.

  • @Marcidia1967 The message too, midear. The music and message are inseparable. This music would not exist without the message behind it.

  • @AugustFirst1927 oh and why in the name of god would you care about a hundred year old cistercian chant that does not have a single thing to do with the present? Don't judge the past, it is over, let it be like that and care about the problems of our modern society. Go fight extremism but don't fight over a beautiful chant, please, that's just rude.

  • @Marcidia1967 its almost a thousand years old, and fits right into Catholic believe as it is now. you're thinking about the crusades I guess, while this was written before the first crusade and has no violent message. many forms of Salve Regina are used as spoken prayers today.

  • @Marcidia1967 It was written long before crusaders and knight Templers of course...........But it was written by Christens, Crusaders would chant it, whats wrong with that..they used it as inspiration in their struggle against the Islamic hoards, don't judge them by today's standards

  • @Protherium ; HEAR, HEAR!!!!

  • Agreed. The chant is ace. Needs more bassline though. (Chase and Status 2012 Templar Chant remix feat. Tiny Tempah) NOT ON FUCKING RADAR ANYTIME SOON! BTW the reason you cant hear any breaths between stanzas is because they're overlapped.Whilst one section comes to it's stanza end, the second section takes up the slack and bobs yer uncle.

  • So many narrow minded religious fanatics out there...

This chant was written in 11th century well before any Crusade or Templars! And yes, this vid is about music, not fundamentalist propaganda of some sabre-rattling shitheads, so please, we shall concentrate on music!

... Hell, again, this one was written a MILLENIUM ago!! So damn awesome!

  • @Protherium Ehem. The first crusade actually took place in 1099 - in the 11th Century. Then again, I completely agree with you, this chant is harmless ;)

  • this music translate some hundred years of european history !! so pure, so clean and so epic !!

  • i think its pretty cool how everyone that comments on a video on youtube has to get in a pissin match with the last commentator congragulatations dickwads your the biggest assholes to walk the earth

  • @mpBomil I am a Sufi and a Templar Initiate as well.. it is time for us to join together...

  • The BASS!, amazing!

  • There is a new generation of Templar on the march to a new crusade, THE OMEGA CRUSADE!

Follow them to victory at: theomegacrusade.blogspot.com

  • i could die listening to this

  • i am a working medium and find this music so relaxing in meditation..also i have discovered my ancestors were grand masters in freemasonary order and i work closely with the knights templar .xx but i just want to say great video..xxx

  • beautiful deep spiritual song .

  • I can easily imagine this Chant of the Templars being combined with footage from that Swedish movie based on Jan Guillou's "Crusades trilogy" about Arn Magnusson, since so much of the film footage deals with Arn's 20 years' penance as a Templar in the Holy Land.

  • My Templar brothers our order is in tatters it is time to restore our order to its past glory and reclaim our spot at the table of champions once again RISE UP MY BROTHERS AND TAKE BACK WHATS OURS FOR ALL TIME!!!

  • Death has no master her word is eternal.

  • Bass reminds me of Mongol throat-singing...

  • The good old days when murder, rape, robbery and arson were heroic deeds in the eyes of the lord ,if you were a noble. Obviously all crimes were endorsed by the blood soaked, greedy, fat misogynistic, homosexual Pope! That's Christianity folks! If there is a true lord, he must weep at our selfishness and greed and ignorance- great chant though!

  • @TheFluffy47 Ahhh, the good ol' days.

  • @TheFluffy47 i hope you open your eyes soon brother

  • @TheFluffy47 And who were they fighting? Muslims and what did they do? exactly everything you've just said but twice as bad. Fuck of asshole.

  • @ScouserLegend

Exactly right, people like to over look that little detail when discussing the crusades, it was a RETALIATION.

  • @921945 The crusades was a defensive war.

  • @abaddon1112

    Correct.

  • @StSimonMartyr You are a walking offense upon god's green earth. May He have mercy upon thy soul in the afterlife. May ignorance remain bliss as you are not aware and too blinded to see truth. May His light someday open your eyes. However religious you may or may not be, all should be respectful unto others and whatever house of god they pray in. Take your half-assed ignorant trolling elsewhere.

  • I would sacrifice anything. Anything, as long as I could get back there, where I belong. I remember..

  • @UnknownDarkNymph Je peux sentir votre cœur. Gardez les yeux brillants de lumière et votre esprit profond avec la connaissance. Vous serez de retour et connaître la joie sublime.

  • where can i get this?

  • @tvede1027FML It's from "Ensemble Organum" CD is called "Le Chant des Templiers". Unfortionatly this CD is out of production. You'll may find it second hand.

  • The best transmission of the Byzantine music in the latin world, even the way that they ceep the ison is perfect

  • @saptemai

If not for the crusades taking back everything the Muslims took as part of their conquering we'd all be speaking arabic and stuck in the dark ages....

We reclaimed all our ancient texts on poetry, science, and engineering with out this event in history we'd be lost till this very day...

although i disagree with killing in the name of God but it is what it is

  • Credo in sanctam eclessiam catholicam

  • Did the Templars sang this after the battle , drenched in the blood of their foes?

Or did they sang it before the battle, knowing they go to die in the name of God?

Either way, it is beautiful and mesmerizing.

  • @saptemai that is very true communism killed alot of people communism which adheres to an atheisist believe killed about 200 million people joseph stalin an aheist killed more then 40 million russian, mao , anther athiest killed more then 20 million people he simply starved them to death thats very true.

  • amen amen

  • Oh, for pity's sweet sake, take the religious war and antisemitic blather elsewhere; this area's for MUSIC, remember?? I found this troped and elaborated version of the famous Benedictine/Cistercian festal Salve Regina gloriously, chillingly beautiful. Those splendid basses must have done situps and crunches for months to bring off that seamless 14-minute ground; :) I couldn't hear a single breath, which is pretty astounding singing.

  • @bluezinnia50 Those who defy the Lord do deserve neither the music nor the felicity of yet another breath in this world, alas, indifference of the faithful declares their existance null and void, hence we shall eradicate souls not devoted to the Lord, which with its means set our worth before him, therefore define severity of the punishment for our sins. Deus vult.

  • @bluezinnia50 How's the air up there in your ivory tower, you pompous twit?

  • @bluezinnia50 I totally agree. I am a Muslim and I listen to this chants cause they sound very beautiful and pure.

  • @FullMoongrn you are one cool muslim dude

  • @Reatbuster thank you, although I don't remember what I said and I can't find my comment either.

  • @FullMoongrn somethin about you being muslim and liking these so much to upload

  • @saptemai What the hell has atheism got to do with it? The fact is that the Church killed thousands of people in cold blood.

  • @Lukergamer the bottom line is atheist haved killed far more people then the catholic church, communism for example which adheres to athiests believes and values, killed around 200 million, joseph stalin a practicing athiest oh yes athiestism is a religion on itself killed about 40 million russians, moa anther athiest killed 15 million people by simply starving them to death and sending them to gulags chinese gulags. secularists and athiests haved killed alot more the the catholic church ever .

  • @jaquino451 The Church killed off half the global population in the Crusades era.

  • @Lukergamer,

Um, no. For one thing, there was not half the global population population living in the areas affected. Second, the crusades were not particularly bloody as medieval wars went, popular opinion to the contrary. there were certainly nowhere near as bloody as Ghengiz Khan's campaigns.

  • Jews killed off Half of Europe causing the Black Plauge,Poisoning wells of Christian land owners with contaminated rats/fleas.

Property could then be bought for pennies on the dollar being 'contaminated.

Many Jews confessed to such crimes when caught in the act, claiming Rabbis instructed them to do so.

Jew Communism & Jew Abortion killed off 100s of Millions

Half the global population was not in the Mid East & few by comparison were killed.

Jews like to sensationalize Christian defense

  • @StSimonMartyr the jews were blamed for the plague, they died too!

  • Jews went unscathed in the Black Plague, they knew it was rats (contaminated by Fleas) that caused it, and used that knowledge to contaminate wells of Christian land owners, many being caught in the act & confessing.

It allowed them to then buy the 'contamined' land for pennies on the dollar & kill off half of Europe a, Mostly Christians.

U sound like an apologist for the Hollow-hoax or Holocau$t, whereby 6 million somehow died in a 2 car Garage sized-Vented room, by use of bug spray..

  • @StSimonMartyr Are you really that much of an ignorant moron? This can't be for real...

  • @StSimonMartyr

You are aware that the Jews practice religious washing? Thats why the weren't affected by the Black Plague and the people made them responsible for it. No one washed because they thought it would spread the Black Plague but It would have stopped it. In the HRE they werent allowed to practice any crafting profession anymore. Thats why they became traders and bankers. Stop spreading you lies. And I'm not even Jewish myself.

  • Jews died in WW2 because of their non existant bathing habits.

Lice killed them, and causes Typhus.

General Patton remarked on their lack of use of toilets..

Next thing, youll tell us that Jews dont control our Government, media, Banking or politicians..Nice disclaimer about you not being Jewish, too.

If we cant trust Jews, who can we trust?

  • @StSimonMartyr I feel sorry for you.

  • @StSimonMartyr You, sir, are a fool of epic proportions. You forget the the other 6 million non-Jews who were also slaughtered in the Holocaust. Were they imaginary? No, because the Nazi bastards were very meticulous record keepers, they documented their sick campaign against all the "undesirables" quite well. Photos, videos, not to mention the actual buildings you can still visit all attest to the truth, the Holocaust was real.

  • @jaquino451,

IIRC, according to recent estimates Mao probably killed 45 million in the four years of the Great Leap Forward alone.

  • @jaquino451 Religions and beliefs do not kill people. Insitutions kill people. Atheism is not responsible for those deaths, totalitarian states are. Christianity is not responsible for any deaths, but the catholic church, in fact, IS.

  • @LibertyCentury

sure the catholic church as committed dark acts but we learned our lesson unlike some of our christian brothers... Burning witches at the stake in Salem, genocide of the native american's n the very modern day christian crusades we see going on today in the middle east....Not to mention christian extremist like the una bomber, christians who murder abortion doctors or liberal politicians < our protestant brother churches

  • Comment removed

  • @saptemai The word assassinate was coined by Shakespeare so your argument is already flawed. If anything you should "brush up" instead of attempting to preach in the comments to as equally misguided and ignorant people such as yourself.

  • @saptemai What the hell is wrong with you? The Church in that period was the greatest tyrant of them all - killing innocent women and children is certainly not God's will.

  • can you give me the lyric ?

  • The Templars have and will have nothing to do with Yahuah "God" there religion comes right back to the ancient mystery religions of Babylon....... Brothers Do not be deceived by there lies, even if there chants are beautiful...

  • You are still hiding in your pacifist "safe" hole. While the Templars were demonized by the pedofile catholic cultist of yesteryear - and modern day freemasons "claim" to be the aftermath of the Knights Templar (a complete falsity), the Templars INDEED were Soldiers of Christ. You need to read your history closer, rather than hide from the truth because it is safer for you. The Order of the Knights Templar does not exist in organizations, but we do exist in the light of Christ. Our time is near.

  • Dieu le veut! My brothers, GOD WILLS IT!

Jack Whyte writes some great novels about this stuff!

  • I need to know who's the group behind this masterpiece!

  • They have an amazing basso profundo singer here. Who is the group singing?

  • Lyrics?

  • hey guys, what you found as translation for Salve Regina? Hail of the Queen? Hail?? I know what''s hail, but what does it mean here? Except if the Queen ia crying in a northend country, i cant figure it out...

    Thanks!

I love this masterpiece since a while!

    \m/

  • @WeedyMellow It's one of the settings of one of the most sung chants in honour of the Blessed Virgin Mary, often sung after Mass: try looking at the wikipedia entry for "Salve Regina"

  • @WeedyMellow , Salve is the way you would say hello in latin, from the root verb Salvere which means to keep in good health So yes Salve Regina means Hail holy queen, with Hail in such use as adoration and respect, rather than just oh Hi....... (sorry im a latin nerd lol so i hope that answers ur question)

  • @AppalachiaRRlover Thanks.

  • @AppalachiaRRlover You are correct. In Portugal nowadays in some regions the elder people still use the word "Salve" my grandmother used to do it. You are correct.

  • @pjlmc coolness....its where in english we get the word salutations........ im assuming they pronounced it sal vay but in proper latin its pronounved sal way with a w sound, not a v sound......

  • @AppalachiaRRlover Greatings. I don't think so if i might say, because in the catholic mass, the priest pronounce it with the V sound, and in the roman alphabet the letter W doesn't exist. But maybe over the centuries peolple started to change, in a natyral way, the sounds.

  • @pjlmc actually, in classical latin, the V was pronounced as a W Yes the W didnt become into existance till the middle ages, but the V sound did not come till later..... OF course I only took three years of latin in HS and one year in college......

  • @AppalachiaRRlover No it doesn't. The "V" makes a "U" sound. Not a "W".

  • @TKMSeznam12 IM gonna message you a link, wont let me post here........... Go down to the fifth section..... classical latin the V as in via is prounonced as a w ......... as when it acts as a constanant, not talking about vowels........

  • @AppalachiaRRlover Well, i only live in a country that were part of the roman empire, were latin is still often spoke with 800 yrs of history as a nation, and full of archaeological remais and books and monasterys... that kind of things tyou learn in hs and in college. And never heard anyone in Italy, Spain, France, Romania, pronouced it like "Sal uay" or "Sal way", but more like... Salvé! ..vé..vé. And Salvé too you to, have a nice Xmas!

  • MEMENTO MORI !!!

  • i'm lovin it ....:p

  • Moving, powerful, humbling, timeless

  • Isn't it one of the most beautiful chants ever created?

  • @Panoplie yes

  • @mpBomil where did you get this chant

  • yes

  • Can you imagine them at the Battle of Antioch fasting for days and receiving the miraculous dew for their company against the Moors. The great white army that miraculously appeared in the hills with 12 to 1 odds against them, truly the first crusade was God's will! DEUS VULT!

  • @atomagenesis Bet they enjoyed breaking that fast by eating their dead friends after the plague that decimated them there...good ol' Gods will eh? Try some research. The music has sod all to do with that though, and is quite beautiful.

  • @Eladriell They won the battle. It is not sinful to eat a dead body if it comes down to a life and death situation like that. So what if they got a plague? They still won the battle.

  • @Eladriell

Try some research yourself before you lay charge on people who can't talk back.

The PRIMARY sources mention they ALLEGEDLY ate dead. Not friends but ENEMIES. But no source confirmed that.

  • @atomagenesis I don't believe that God would desire men to kill each other - if he does, then I refuse to accept him as my god.

  • @atomagenesis everything is Gods will :)

  • @atomagenesis FORTITER FIDELITER FORSAN FELICITER BRAVE , WHITE FATE, POSSIBLE SUCCESSFUL !!!!

  • @atomagenesis You shall not kill. Dieu le veut was a famous remark from the monk bernard de Clerveaux to engage the first crusade.

I treuly believe if there was a god, discribed by the four Evangelists (they never met jeshua,he died many years before they were born) he'll sends the flood again . Besides to pretend to know what god"s will was sounds like blasphemy.

    The music is indeed beautyfull

  • @guidodebondt1 The word for kill meant murder, not that you can't ever kill anyone if it's justified. St. Bernard was right, it was God's will, and there were many miracles to prove it. The Muslims invaded our land, so we wen't to take it back, nothing wrong with that. You can know God's will if he reveals it to you. God's will is in scripture, in the teachings of the church, and in your heart if you truly listen to Him, nothing blasphemous about that at all.

  • @guidodebondt1 St. Luke never met the Lord, he was a disciple of St. Paul. He himself says as much in Lk 1:3. The other three certainly did meet him, however: St. Matthew and St. John were Apostles, while St. Mark was the son of the owner of the Cenaculum and the Garden of Olives where the Last Supper took place and Jesus was arrested.

  • @atomagenesis Or the will of fanatics and greedy old men. Whichever lets you sleep at night buddy.

  • @atomagenesis Middle Eastern Muslims weren't called Moors. Moors are Muslims from West Islam (Maghreb, Spain, etc.).

  • definitief een supercell
