Continued... The Security dog schools can also offer feeding classes. which means the dog wont eat unless told to. Most security dogs are trained like this so if someone (a $cientologist) throws some poisoned meat over the fence. Charlie might sniff it or sit in front of it, But the important part is, the lil'fella wont EAT IT! unless you tell him to of course. I believe very strongly in Dogs being able to defend themselves. Charlie looks so adorable. Good dogs are labs. my sister has one. I would like to see a $cientologist try to take my dog. Hes a German Shepard called Sam. But hes a military trained security dog. Have you thought about a Security Dog school for Charlie? It might be a good idea for Charlie's own protection. I know if someone tried to take Sam they would probably loose an arm or a leg. Stay strong. Do you have security cameras set up outside your place? It also would be a good idea to put a lock on your gate. That way if they tamper with your gate, you got them on video.

It sounds like a potential "fair game" attack- did you get the number plate of the vehicle?

I'd put a good padlock and chain (and a new bigger gate) up+ anti climb paint on the top of the gate.

Keep several still cameras handy in different parts of the house, it'd be quite inexpensive and easy to alarm each gate, too- a simple magnetic switch concealed on the gate and frame connected to a shed alarm hidden somewhere.
