By the way, Joss Whedon wrote a bunch of comics and scripts for movies, though most of those scripts were warped or eventually thrown out. Waterworld is one of those such movies, and I havne't read it, I can't imagine his would be any worse, lol.

Yeah, I mean, I really liked it when I first saw it, & again the other times I watched it on TV (actually I've only seen it on TV, & usually just parts at a time), but then I rewatched it again later &didn't really find it that thrilling.I also didn't really like the pirates quoting the Bible. Like what the heck, is there no one else who has a copy that might actually know what it means? But I still liked it even then. But I imagine Whedon's was a bit better in a few ways, if not at least story.

Yeah I looked up pics of her, and no it might not be exactly the same, especially since killing off Booke and Wash, but, all you have to do is move ahead the story 3 years. If Joss Whedon was behind it I still have confidence that he could make some incredible story lines, but that's just my opinion. :)

The show would not work the same, no, but the movie wasn't the same as the show, either. For one, the special effects would be LOADS better, and while that is not all you need to make a show, it would help. To the age issue, yes, they are older, but most of their cast got killed in the movie anyway. A show to follow up Firefly and Serenity would not have to be a direct sequel; it could be simply set in the same world as them, like Stargate Universe is going to be with SG1.

It's weird that in the movie, you never see more than a quick blinking image of the Reavers. In the 'Serenity' visual guide book, they have a few photos of what some of the Reavers looked like in their full makeup, and some of them were pretty damn scary.

The Reavers didn't kill Book. The Operative (Coda) ordered all of Serenity's friends killed so that they would have no safe harbor. That was an Alliance ship on Haven, not a Reaver ship.
