No matter how inconvenient, how much extra it costs, I find ways every day to vote NO to CORPORATIONS with my dollar and lifestyle; I'm not near where I want to be, though. For one small instance; I have actively boycotted Proctor & Gamble for going on 8 yrs now, and have made many people aware...Buy Local, Buy Fresh is the saying around here...actually around everywhere! People have to be aware they are voting with their dollars every day!! Non-Walmart shopper for 5 years now...etc.
@touber2011 here here, well said. with the exception of the day AC/DC's Black Ice was released (My favorite band, just about anything takes a back seat to AC/DC) I haven't stepped foot in a Wal-Mart sense July of '07. I'm the same way, thanks for watching.
@scalp340 Wal-Mart is a great company and one of the biggest job creators in America. They are a true friend to the poor with their great low prices, and I hope they sue your ass broke for slandering them.
@FatherPatOphelia OMG where would we be without Wal-Mart!!!? Another company would be employing all those people and probably doing a better job providing things to people that want them.
@scalp340 You're an idiot. Wal-Mart is one of the greatest forces fighting hunger in America with their $0.50 one pound spaghetti boxes that feed thousands of the poor and hungry. You sound like your brain is made of Reese's Pieces of shit.
@FatherPatOphelia Evil Wal-Mart; in my small town of 20,000 or so, they moved in and basically put all the independent business out of business: made the city sign a 10 year contract to not let in any other competitors, ie: ShopKo, K-mart, or Target....evil. They take over many small towns this same way; being a monopoly that pays their employees minimum wage while maximizing profits by buying slave-labored goods from third world countries; they even have their own airport straight to China!
@touber2011 The small businesses that went out of business did so because they were inferior to Wal-Mart. It's called capitalism. If you don't like it, move to North Korea.
The gov't "came" first...they wanted to have complete control, power/money...their "in" was through WS; I believe once upon a time, politicians were able to begin their ties with corp through WallStreet. Once they're able to infiltrate the media; they can make promises to the corporations, and so on in circles. Pharma is huge in this also! Huge. They all feed each other on the same crooked, silver spoon...someone needs to put a fork in the mix!! ;P
I would never argue that Corporations are inherently evil, or that Government is inherently evil, the problem as i see it is the relationship between government and corporations has become unhealthy. People have a vague notion that something is very wrong but most miss the root cause.
if an entity can exist in a voluntary capitalist society then i support it. corporations probably can exist in free market. we should blame govt not corporations. my fears r coming true, a lot of so called libertarians are starting to think like socialists. they contend w/ real libertarians w/ nonsense like "its the govt's fault because they got rid of GS" "the fed is private, has nothing to do w/ govt" "there should only be interest-free banking" "they shouldnt lobby gov for deregulation"
@sillynanny44 I'm Just saying that public/private, gov//corp they are one in the same...'the State'. Their differences are really fairytale, because of how we recognize they exist. you get the govt out of business or take their power to be involved, away..... business will stay away from gov't. i think libertarians are going the opposite way. they were more ignorant socialists, but the worse things get the more they see things how they really exist. Then embrace real forms of libertarianism.
@scalp340 ur right. I'm just scared of those protesters screaming their hateful message. history isnt just a bunch of stories in a book. ppl here just dont have the experience to understand it(because our current statist problems isnt enough to teach them). those socialist systems didn't have corporations yet 130 mil+ died in just 3 decades. hitler did not need corporations to tell him what to do he was telling corporations what to do. y r ppl so agreeable to the left, is it social cohesion?
@scalp340 ya & if u r interested. check out this former soviet citizen at OWS. Truth At Occupy Wall Street uploaded by libertywriters(judge interviews him & show's vladimir's video). you can find full video at mcintaggart1's channel. it's way more than 130million if we count all of history's socialism. i've traveled to those countries & heard about their ridiculous former egalitarian systems.like collectivized farms where ppl only care to work when theyre about to starve but they got no tools!
