i remember i was supposed to go to my little league game but first i went on mlb.com and saw the perfect game was going on. I went on mlb.tv and watched the 8th and 9th inning live. Then when i saw the call, i couldnt believe what i saw. This is why MLB should allow instant replay for moments like this, at least from the 7th inning forward.

You get the call right. Somehow, someway, get the call right. Joyce showed a ton of stones coming out after the game and saying he got it wrong. Many umps would have said that they saw it the way they called it. He was tore up, especially the next day when Leyland had Gallaraga take the lineup out.

People these days seem to take too much account in professional sports. There have been way worse calls, the tigers still won, and most pitchers are known for their ERA's, etc, not for perfect games. Yes, it would have been awesome to see the guy pitch a perfect game, but it's not the world. That is why Gallarraga was such a great sport with Joyce. Get over it people, there's always the rest of Gallarraga's career to rebuild up to that perfect game.

The odds are stacked against Gallarraga ever even coming close to pitching a perfect game again, and that's not a discredit to Gallarraga's pitching ability.
