My family wasent really big on games when I was younger. We had a Sega genesis but I didnt get my gba till I was in like 3rd grade and I didnt even know what nintendo was. I didnt really know what games were good so many of them were horrible games Id never buy, I didnt buy Zelda or mario I didnt know what they were. But I did get a cool game from a friend pokemon silver after that I acquired Green and Sapphire. Nintendo won me fully over with the ds and once again with wii. Got my 3ds at launch

Well, it's not like they stopped making Zelda games for consoles. But I enjoyed the DS Zelda games. Phantom Hourglass got a bit tired with the Temple of the Ocean King bit, but I loved Spirit Tracks. DS was an opportunity for NIntendo to experiment with a lot of things (Metroid Prime Pinball, for instance which was great) and I think 9/10 times they produced pretty good games. The original stuff like Elite Beat Agents, Hotel Dusk and whatnot were great as well.

I'd like to hear an analysed comparison of a few cross console and console unique games of equal popularity from him, and what makes them good. That's what any true gamer would do. Nintendo has always been about tradition. A tradition of fun, nostalgia, and excellence. I do play other systems and games that are not on Nintendo systems but at the end of the day I will always be a Nintendo fan and Im not ashamed to show my pride. @NINTEX2DOPE People don't understand when I say Skyward Sword is more beautiful than Skyrim could ever be. It's the difference between graphics and aesthetics. The game's aesthetic isn't just the art direction, it's how the game makes you feel, it's the originality and inspiration you can sense in it. Skyrim looks like what might be north of Middle Earth, specifically Peter Jackson's rather unwhimsical vision of it. (Not that his vision didn't work wonderfully for cinema.)
They can't see any deeper because they never gave most Nintendo games a chance because they haven't owned a Nintendo since N64 or earlier. They're just rationalizing not owning a Nintendo because they let themselves become sold on graphical power and more "mature" themes and aesthetics in the 6th generation. So many of these people do love the old school Nintendo franchises, they just don't want to or can't invest in a second console. I believe every gamer is a Nintendo fan deep down.

I must disagree with that to a degree. Honestly, i think the actual issue is the newcomers to the world of games. They have this "need", this "desire/lust" to be wowed by visuals. If its not flashy, they won't buy it. It needs to look good. that's all that they feel. Sadly, now there are more of them than there are of us, who judge worth based on the WHOLE product, not just 1 or 2 things, and companies have needed to adapt. Not just 1st party, but 2nd and 3rd party devs too.
@kaitoudark1 That's very true. I guess I'm mostly thinking of people around my age and older who have seemingly lost their way to a degree. They will still have fun playing Nintendo games, but can't bring themselves to buy a Nintendo console.

I'm glad that PS3 and XBox gave 3rd party developers the tools they needed to create the games they wanted, while Nintendo was busy with something completely different. Games like Assassin's Creed and Portal, among others, have great gameplay ideas, but Nintendo didn't make themselves available to developers like these in the 7th gen. I'm glad that it looks as if they are now remedying this.
@TheRealChris713832 There may not be enough titles to sell you on a Nintendo system at this time (I wouldn't suggest buying a Wii at this point), but there are a few 1st party franchises that "hardcore" gamers should take notice of. Namely Fire Emblem and Advance Wars, Metroid is always a good challenge, and some others. One important thing that we need to make people understand, regardless of what platform they're playing on, is that 2D gameplay is not and never will be obsolete.
There's a reason a genre like FPS is far more popular in America than elsewhere (namely Japan). I really think Americans are generally shallower/dumber than everyone else in the world due to our inundation with mind-numbing media at the hands of our corporate owners. I know people who see Nintendo's lighthearted or 'kiddy' aesthetic and take that to be representative of the game's difficulty as well as the maturity of the player

They're just rationalizing not owning a Nintendo because they let themselves become sold on graphical power and more "mature" themes and aesthetics in the 6th generation. So many of these people do love the old school Nintendo franchises, they just don't want to or can't invest in a second console. I believe every gamer is a Nintendo fan deep down.

@JaredHutcheson1 nah man you got it wrong. I tried the wii and 3ds and am ps3 all the way, and soon vita. I believe when i post a comment sharing my opinion, than buthurt wiifans should't counter it with "PS3 is last" or attacking me every side. I just outgrown Nintendo even tho i steel play all mario games but this is just to check them out and now the time has come that i will not invest in Nintendo anymore. It was good ride since the snes but Nintendo doesn't have a place for me anymore

I must disagree with that to a degree. Honestly, i think the actual issue is the newcomers to the world of games. They have this "need", this "desire/lust" to be wowed by visuals. If its not flashy, they won't buy it. It needs to look good. that's all that they feel. Sadly, now there are more of them than there are of us, who judge worth based on the WHOLE product, not just 1 or 2 things, and companies have needed to adapt. Not just 1st party, but 2nd and 3rd party devs too.

@kaitoudark1 That's very true. I guess I'm mostly thinking of people around my age and older who have seemingly lost their way to a degree. They will still have fun playing Nintendo games, but can't bring themselves to buy a Nintendo console.

I'm glad that PS3 and XBox gave 3rd party developers the tools they needed to create the games they wanted, while Nintendo was busy with something completely different. Games like Assassin's Creed and Portal, among others, have great gameplay ideas, but Nintendo didn't make themselves available to developers like these in the 7th gen. I'm glad that it looks as if they are now remedying this.

@TheRealChris713832 There may not be enough titles to sell you on a Nintendo system at this time (I wouldn't suggest buying a Wii at this point), but there are a few 1st party franchises that "hardcore" gamers should take notice of. Namely Fire Emblem and Advance Wars, Metroid is always a good challenge, and some others. One important thing that we need to make people understand, regardless of what platform they're playing on, is that 2D gameplay is not and never will be obsolete.

There's a reason a genre like FPS is far more popular in America than elsewhere (namely Japan). I really think Americans are generally shallower/dumber than everyone else in the world due to our inundation with mind-numbing media at the hands of our corporate owners. I know people who see Nintendo's lighthearted or 'kiddy' aesthetic and take that to be representative of the game's difficulty as well as the maturity of the player

Nintendo isn't necessarily kiddy, just rated E for everyone. Some Nintendo fans act like such panty-waists though, they act so butthurt. Some Sony fans can act aggressive, and Microsoft fans...pfft. Sheesh, all this over consoles? Cant we all just play games we like without ridicule or bashing?
