  • I wonder why this video pops up when I search for your version of Stare and Stare... weird.

On a different note, you should really bring back this old-school 90's style music, if just instrumentals if you're feeling a little lazy =P.

The world needs another few songs like If I Only Had a Brain and Truth is Out of Style!

  • Comic Zone!

  • Rick Rubin pretty much let me do what I wanted on this album. I wanted to call the album "Loony Tunes," but we had to change the title at the last minute. Hence the new title, my second choice, "One Step Ahead of the Spider." But musically, it's all me, for better or worse.

  • @900heyzeus I heard you were doing some small DJing gigs in your area, any plans to ever release some new stuff independently?

  • @900heyzeus Awesome awesome tune.....Brilliant...superb....way ahead of it's time...come out of your hibernation and produce some more timeless tunes!!!....

  • @ghanus2009 Lol, I wouldn't expect anything less than skepticism! No need to apologize.

  • @900heyzeus

Actually, I'm not sure if that's the real Ghanus2009. You might wanna check creds, or ask him a question that only the real Ghanus2009 could answer.

  • This one should've been a single off the album.

  • @ghanus2009 I am in fact Mark Griffin aka MC 900 FT JESUS and if you don't believe it, it's no skin off my nose. And on a happier note, thanks for all the compliments everyone else!

  • @900heyzeus Well, now didnt I just make an ass of myself all over the interweb? Ouch? Please accept my and humblest appologies. With no way to properly authenticate, it was unbelievable to me and I had thought you to be an imposter. I have a very high respect for your music and what you had done. Please excuse me if, for my intent is good and just became rather defensive at the thought of someone pretending to be some I had such a high regard for. Its bound to happen. Peace. George.

  • I bought these albums in cassette form and wore them out. Classic, timelessly cool. Every home should have a fresh copy.

  • I've been looking everywhere for this song (had forgotten the name, but remember the tune well)!!!!! Thank you for posting!!!!!

  • love this eclectic, somber rapping, but with much more funky jazz feel. and 900heyzeus, ur more full of shit than me after 20 taco bell bean burritos homey. Nobody is impressed. lmao

  • @tool4janes That's really MC 900. (And after twenty taco bell burritos, you need detox.)

  • Ahead of his time, this gem is a classic; inspiring & at the same time hypnotic.

  • DJ Zero and friends supplied the beats for this track. I played guitar and bass.

  • one of my absolute favs next to "the city sleeps"

  • this has such a relentless groove. sounds great late at night

  • a much older friend got me hooked on you a few years back. but my cds of yours got lost in transit while moving house not long ago. heartbreak. im gonna have to re-buy.

    cheers for the music mate

  • Amazing song, hypnotic.

    Are you really mc 900?

if so kudos man, id like to chat about working on a song together.

    Cheers-

  • I got them all.

  • if you've got other songs that sound like this, I'd like to hear them. this is the only one I know of. "If I only Had a Brain," "Killer Inside Me," etc. sound like a completely different artist.

  • @900heyzeus Ira Glass just used this song on This American Life (June 4th, 2010) "409: Held Hostage" (minute 19:45.) Wow that brought back memories.

  • @900heyzeus Shutup asshole. I cant believe 1) youre posting bulshit like this. Mark would never say that. And 2) idiots are actually thinking youre Mark Griffin. So fucking sad your existance.

  • @ghanus2009 Um, that's really Mark.

  • Remends me of the show "joe frank - in the dark".

  • Dang I loved Joe Frank. Used to listen to "The Other Side" every Sunday on KCRW when I lived in LA.

And it does remind me of "in the dark" episode too.

  • I used to listen to Joe Frank's show (when it was running) on WEOS Geneva, NY. My favorite is a show where he talks about doing surgery on himself, and among the supplies that he readies are onions, in case he encounters his liver. Now I'm starting to not be sure of the series title, but I could almost swear it was called "In the dark". Any help would be appreciated. I believe I've also heard the opening to this song (or an instrumental version) since, on "This American Life".

  • love this song too!!! true thnx for posting

  • Great song indeed. This entire album is among my top ten!

  • FINALLY. Been looking for this song forever. Thanks man.

  • It is on the record "One Step Ahead Of The Spider"

  • thanks for posting. I wore out the mix tape i had this on in the 90's. ha ha
