man i remember when i used to fish on this lake it was 6 years ago when i moved to michigan and im about to move back to texas and im gunna go straight to this lake
@GOOCH2655 i like to release my catches too, even if theyre big. let a little kid or someone else catch it too ya know? found it funny that the game warden in my state said he wished people would keep more of them, dont know why, then there would be NO fish to catch!
@TheGuitarist4181 and @MrFrenzy83, ladies, ladies, please.. mounting is ok if its a giant ass fish, but u dont needa be pullin fish out left and right.. haha. dont be cuttin eachothers throats over fishing, it suppost to be relaxing.
Lol i was just at this lake yesterday. Bass are on the beds though so no ones catching any. And its 16-24 inches not 16-22. My buddy caught a 13 pounder that went 24.5 inches and an 11 pounder that was 23.5 not legal. Now an 11 pounder thats not legal. Thats lake fork for you
@GBEmohtioN ever heard of Catch and release you fuck? wanting to keep fish that big, want to eat fish go to wal mart about buy some... C&R is what its all about...
@GBEmohtioN if you are fishing tourneys 99% of the time the Slot are removed for the event... if your club isnt big enough to have the slot removed then you need to find another club to fish... and if you are fishing to catch and fry then leave the bass alone and go catch you some specks or gills.... I swear if I seen someone keep a 11 pounder I would loose control and im sure end up in a boat ramp brawl.
@ofnaman You don't know what you are talking about. I have fished many tourney's on Fork and have NEVER seen the slot removed. Maybe Bass Champs and Seely Outdoors are too small for them to remove it lmao. I swear, if i see some wanna be tough guy trying to get into a boat ramp brawl with me for keeping a legal fish I will use my concealed weapon that is also LEGAL.
@MrFrenzy83 you are fuking retarded for keeping bass. first of all there meat is shit. then, you are ruining the fun for everybody by keeping bass that can be easily caugth again, an again; and those bass could have produced 100's of more offspring.
@TheGuitarist4181 Thanks for the biology lesson chief. I had no idea catch and release would let others catch the bass again and reproduce. If it's legal, I'll do what I please with the fish. Now don't get me wrong I practice catch and release. But guess what? If I catch a DD bass and feel like mounting it instead of getting a replica made I'm gonna do it and there's not a damn thing you can do. Don't like it? Write your congressman, but good luck stopping me from doing something legal.
@rs5rw Are you seriously suggesting keeping fish, whether to mount or eat, is immoral? Wow, I mean just wow. I guess maybe you should write Jesus a letter and tell him, cause there was alot of fish caught and eaten in the Bible lmao.
@MrFrenzy83 Sheesh take it easy..everyone knows taking big fish...but not too many...is good for a fish population. Which is why so many people are able to catch big fish at lake fork, and why you're able to keep your "DD" fish if you so please. Maybe you need to get out and fish more?
@clueworm82 Mmhmm, ask me to take it easy and then follow it up with an insult. Seriously, if ya'll don't like someone keeping fish, confront them in person and see what happens. Thank god in this great state theres a little thing called the Sportsman's Rights Act in which there is this, General Provisions. § 62.0125. Harassment of Hunters, Trappers, and Fishermen. So go ahead and harass someone for legal fishing, the gamewarden's would love to talk with ya and give ya a citation.
The pros don't catch bass anywhere close to every cast. Don't feel bad lol the way the videos are edited they cut out everything besides the fish catches. They just know exactly what their lure is doin in the water and how to make it do the subtle little things it takes to make the bass react as well as knowing where specifically they're located in the area they're fishin.
I wish i could catch a bass every cast like the pros ... its ridiculous ... hell im lucky to catch one fish a day haah .. of course i have no boat and fish at a local marina thats prob fished out
@CrypticNexus777 Only reason pros catch so many fish is because their on private/stocked , lake/ponds .. Some days are good for bass fishing, and some days they just have lockjaw. :)
@freewill51 however , they do have tournaments where they remove the slot limit. The McDonalds Big Bass tournament and others do not require you let those slots go.
Coffee tubes are my Fav for largmouth. Larger black ones. They love em. Small mouth I only fish for in river with green jigs. Crankbaita work well. Those high cadence rapalas are nice. I like em cuz u can cast them fuggers oat like a mile lol.
I'm surprised that B.A.S.S. hasn't had an Elite Series Tournament in this lake yet. The overall catch totals would be well over 100 pounds. Lake Fork should have a world record by now.
@Bassfanatic94 The slot rules make it hard to showcase the pros. For the most part about 95% of their catches would fall in the slot and therefore not be keepers. They would just be keeping fish under 16" and it does not take a pro to catch those all day long. B.A.S.S. would have to pay them just to show up. It would (and is to the other events held here) just be a lottery to see who get's one fish over 24".
60-80 degree water, overcast with a little wind, the heavier the wind the heavier the bait, spinnerbaits are great in wind, topwaters if its calm early or late, worms or jigs in the middle of the day, flipping or pitching, jigs are good around riprap, always kareen crankbaits off stuff like wood or rock
Soft plastics are great year around, difficult to master but when perfected you'll pull good numbers. KVD just told you when to use them, anytime to see nats and and other top water activity,mornings/evenings,twitching,jerking. Watch and read Bassmasters.

@freewill51 also, many of the tournaments have 2 categories... heaviest stringer of unders and biggest, both of which make good prize money.
