Why, when you're drawing your vertical line, does "the black stripe" appear in a completely different place on the mask? I cant exactly select the right focus point.
A few months back there was this commercial which had that same effect except it was zooming in and out of family residential neighborhood. does anyone remember that commercial. I think the guy who was narrating the commercial was the black guy from "24" who played president david palmer.
Well my question is. How can i accomplish this in after effects?
I'm following your steps to the word but the middle of my image is marginally blurred also no matter how much I fiddle with the blur mask. What could be the problem? Thanks for the tutorial.
thanks for the tutorial... one question though, when you create the mask, can you make it round insted of rectangular? and wouldn't that be more like a real tilt-shift lens?
I have an idea; you could add a link to the untouched and completed picture in your video description, because the quality of the compressed videos sometimes makes it harder to understand the effects etc. :)
with out the blur I thought it looked like a miniture thing from the start hehe I must have a weird perspective, great stuff again ranash well done. and thank you.
Nevermind I figured it out because of this video, I made a gradient layer mask from black to white and it excluded the areas that were in the transition with a gradient transparency. though I got the idea from this thank you soooo much :)
I can see myself using the blur masking in a different way but you have taught me off this technique so I'm thankful :)
Also it would be great if you made a tutorial on how to put 2 images together at the seems like a gradient. kinda like the image starts to get transparent twards the edge and so does the other so when the 2 transparencies connect it fills in the transparent area with one another forming a seemless look that would be awesome thank you :)

This reminds me of the redibank and NAB bank commercial. I always wondered whether it was real minatures or not.

would taking a photo of a model scene and reversing the the procedure/treatments make it more realistic (only toying with CS2)

Not your video and the guy who made it, not his idea either.

To be honest, all I see is a picture that is blurred at the top and bottom... I thought the soccer stadium one was better.
