Berserk: Make a live action movie!

would be great, and peter jacson or zakk snyder would be good choices as directors, have to wait and see how battle angel alita does @ the box office, hopefully with james cameron directing it should be a success, but has to make a profit, or hollywood won't get behind other anime adaptations, claymore should also be done as well, just have to wait and see.

Hard to find someone suitable for Guts... We need someone as tall as Jared Padalecki (at least 1m90 or taller), dark haired, with a grim and serious look and a ripped physique (not too burly either, Guts isn't Zodd).

For Zodd, take Dalip Singh (the great khali) with some facial prosthesis, he's the only one tall enough and large enough to fit.

I'd love to see it made live action if it was done well. I definately think it would have to be an indie, studio films tend to be made with a lot of imput from studio execs etc. and we all know they would try to make it pg13 for box office purposes...which would destroy the Berserk-ness of it all. Casting would be difficult, especially for Guts. For directors...I wouldn't mind seeing Guillermo del Toro take a crack at it

@flader91 Halle Berry is just too expected and the only one people think of when there's a dark-skinned woman to be cast, aside from Rosario Dawson.

Plus, if you look closely into the manga, Casca looks very much like a Kushan. There are quite some Africans in the manga and they're all given African features. Casca looks like an Indian woman.

now griffith..thats a hard one, i would have said christopher walken when he was in his 20s with dyed long white hair..casca would be played by halle berry but i think shes too old right now lol yeh...hard cast to muster definetly

but the hardest thing for this movie is the budget and the director, u need 2 peter jacksons and 3 james camerons to do what ur thinkin folks.

I feel a mini series or a series in general would do it better justice, a movie would only have so much time to outline the characters and such.

They should make a anime that follows the real story from the manga,because the anime made me read the manga and i think its better than the anime. A movie would be cool,but it would be short and it would be missing out on alot of story,only if they would make like 7 sequel's with the duration of 3 hours,then i guess they would cover most of the basic stuff...so nah,it takes time,money n effort to make a masterpiece like beserk is into a movie.

1- the story is huge and the movie must be at least 92472384792 hours long.

2- I think the violence, rape, entrails, blood, bones will be just too much for most of the people.

3- When Miura finishes the manga it will be awesome to have an anime which will cover the whole story. I wouldn't mind if the new anime contains the story covered by the anime from 1997.

Berserk should not be made. It is too complex and finding the right actors would take a lot of time and research not to mention dedication of the actors to go to a very dark place.

But whatever happens DO LET FOX GET THERE HANDS ON IT. Having nothing is better than having a disaster.

Then three more movies about him and the Band of the Hawk up to the Ecplipse.

Then Three more movies about the Black Swordsman story arc. But even at three you wont be able to touch 100% of all the story.

Berserk as a Live action movie can be done, But it all depends on doing it right and not fucking it up.

Well for the First Story arc the Golden Age you would have to have a seperate movie, So in total for the first story you're gonna need atleast 4 movies just to cover up the the part of the Eclipse

I don't think Berserk would work out as a movie. I mean that much gore and violence wouldn't really work out as a blockbuster :p.

And the fact that this series isn't nearly done it would feel uncomplete to watch it as I feelt after watching the anime. But then I picked up the manga and that was the greatest thing of all!!! GO READ BERSERK!!!!

Not really. Berserk is a dark, gritty tale full of immorality and stuff to test our conscience. Since when did you see an orgy of ugly trolls raping women in LOTR?

If Berserk is made live-action, it doesn't necessarily need to be at LOTR's level (or anything close to the style of film making Peter Jackson did).

It could work as a cult classic, with different techniques. But then again, some special effects to make all those horrible demons look damn scary would be nice.

Who knows. :P
