Absolutely brilliant! I really believe that the latter rain will not fall until this issue is deal with. I have always attended a church where I'm the minority. Sometimes, it's a sacrifice but it's nothing compared to what Jesus did on the cross for me.
Ok, let's close all the "white" conferences and have them join up with the Regional conferences. If they are so concerned about the Regional conferences, then they shoulddesolve and join the Regional.
@mlasr1 You could do a regional analysis of the two conferences, and whichever conference is in a better financial/asset position, that would be the conference that would reign while the other conference would be dissolved.
exactly, as long as we abandon our culture and adopt theirs, then it's ok. let them join us and then we'll talk. When we talk about a multi-cultural church, we usually are talking about everybody coming together and adopting the dominant worship culture. When we all can be excepting all everyone's worhip culture than maybe we can be truly mult-cultural.
This message is so overdue! Just check yourself to see what impact you can have for change. This pastor can't do it by himself. More individuals that have the same passion for Christ's prayer to be answered have to pose the right questions to the right people AND pray like never before. Unity has to happen here before it would happen in heaven. True love for all our brothers and sisters comes from honest, unbiased fellowship.
Sooo, when is he coming to South Central Conference to pastor under Elder Edmond and to a predominately African-American or West Indian church? When he does, give me a call--then I will say that he means what he says.
@mahoganiqueen Just a reminder, he's the senior pastor of the campus church where the college is in the tops in the nation in racial diversity; he IS trying to break down these barriers where God called him.

I grew up in this Church and Trust me he means it... He's been preaching sermons with messages like this for years.

I love the comparison with South Africa, where the GC directed the churches there to dissolve the separate-but-equal...
