  • ARE THEY seriously that retarded... Or just blind with the cash they are being paid. We exhale C02 lolol its not harmless lololollll. Yeah well those trees that are getting cut down a football field/second, are suppose to turn that C02 into oxygen... I hate fox news, I would love for everyone to get some common sense and watch something a little less ridiculous. Hilarious how they're not talking so tough now, when I only for 3 inches of snow instead of 3 feet this year...and -3 instead of -33.

  • wtf carbon dioxide isn't hazardess?!?! wtf no wonder idiots watch fox news!!

  • Fox is the only one telling the truth, you will see later.

  • @bmwz3m1 is that sarcasm...?

  • Fox was pretty quite on global warming this year....considering we haven't got a freakin inch of snow!!

  • No. God does not love all. As a matter of fact God hates things and people that hurt children. He will rid the universe of them; even their spirits.

  • Fox is a disgrace!

  • THE GOVERNMENT IS FUCKING LYING TO US .

  • @96lobita ITS CORPORATIONS that are lying - dont be so gullible...

  • why dont fox cunts believe global warming????

  • @MrKeepitreal2011

Well let me think a sec.. oh yeah!

Maybe because they have more of a SENSIBILITY than a fucktard like you.

Get the fuck out, and don't let the door hit you in the ass on the way out.

  • Fox so called "News" is NOT a legitimate news organization.

    1.) Fair and balanced? lMFAO!!!

2.) Has been / continue to be caught LYING / DISTORTING the FACTS to support it's own Ultra-Conservative agenda.

If Fox so called "News" wasn't committing "consumer fraud" via claiming "Fair and balanced" "We report you decide" and weren't consistently caught LYING / DISTORTING the FACTS it would be okay.

The worst other networks do is lean left /right.

  • Anyone who researches can disprove and debunk News Corp and subsidiaries like Fox News Channel.

  • To live a peaceful life instead of holding grudges -

Disassociate from people with apathetic and indifferent lifestyles.

Associate with those who care for the well being of humanity and other beings.

  • Scary...

  • I don't like the neocon-run FoxNews, but this global warming bullshit has got to stop!

  • Idiots who think cold winters means climate change is a hoax need to get a brain.

People who doesn't even know the high school level Thermohaline circulation and how it can cause both hotter and colder weather changes should only speak on stuff they have knowledge on.

Climate change doesn't heat up the air it heat up the ocean, you know the ocean, the thing that moderates weather? It can result in both hotter and colder weather and severe wind and moisture content.

  • Why do people without science degrees talk as if they know more than a climatologist or an engineer?

  • there is a legitimate debate on the severity, douche bags

  • michele bachman is an idiot

  • I absolutely hate this so-called news channel

  • Comment removed

  • Is Jocelyn Fong the girl that does the voice over on The Orbs " Little Fluffy Clouds " ?

  • Let's trap Bachman in a chamber, and fill it with Carbon dioxide.

  • Media Matters..another liberal bullshit. Sallie Bulinas of Harvard has a comprehensive research that Temperature on Earth is closely related to Sun's activity. Duh. GE which plans to make millions out of the global Warming Hoax is behind all this propaganda.

  • @Tigrboy You're an idiot.

  • @Tigrboy Check the science - solar activity has been unusually low while global average temperatures have risen. How is it a hoax to accept what so many branches of science all converge upon?

  • Bp news

  • I suggest some of you take a look at this video from CBC news in Canada. It's considered a hell of a lot more legitmate than Fox.

    youtube.com/watch?v=lgIEQqLokL8

Media matters, while I think they provide valid criticism of Fox News do not seem to be telling the full story here!

  • Increasing carbon dioxide in the air is also more life on earth. Not more carbon dioxide in the air, to potentially affect the weather

  • What does Hannity have to say about the record high temperatures recorded across the country this summer?

    Fucking hypocrite!

  • @drhu Not true. The guy spinning the NASA data to fit his anti-science agenda is a Creationist who claims God wouldn't let something like global warming happen... and he's funded by oil companies.

The biologist conservatives claim falsified data to increase global warming hysteria said simply, "polar ice is melting" which it is, and then went on to say "if it continues to melt, more polar bears will lose habitat and die." Wow, a shocking "if - then" statement based on facts. Get the pitchforks!

  • A new study in the peer-reviewed science journal "Remote Sensing" has found that United Nations computer models may be incorrect in overstating the amount of global warming that will occur in the future. James M. Taylor says it would be wise for the media, elected officials and climate scientists to recognize the “huge discrepancy” between global warming predictors and NASA’s satellite data.

  • @vechorik Maybe you should look at the actual data rather than the spin-doctored version from a guy who is funded by the oil companies: climate.nasa.gov/keyIndicators/#globalTemp

  • There is no "climate change debate". There's the overwhelming scientific evidence that points to the man made effect.

On the other hand there are the paid and unpaid corporate shills who spread disinformation about the science.

I get how some one might be a paid corporate shill, but what possible benefit is there to being an unpaid shill?

You spew nonsense you picked up from the paid shills and get nothing except the satisfaction of . . . well, of what?

  • @integral "...but what possible benefit is there to being an unpaid shill?"

There is no benefit other than they get to think that they're in the Big Boy's Club with the powerful and wealthy you run the GOP. It's the same phenomenon that causes the "unpaids" to shill for all manner of things that aren't in their best interest be it opposition to healthcare reform, tax reform, or entitlements reform. In short, they shill for whatever they're instructed to by the right wing noise machine.

  • global warming is bullshit. Mars and a few moons around jupiter are all loosing thr polar ice caps AT THE SAME RATE AS US. AND OF COURSE WHEN ROKEFELLER GETS ON THE ALEX JONES SHOWS HIS RESPONES IS, WELL THOSE PLANETS AND MOONS ARE CLOSER TO THE SUN....WAKE UP PEOPLE. PLATNS EAT CO2, THE MORE CO2 WE PRODUCE, THE MORE OXYGEN. WE ADD TO LIVE, NOT TAKE AWAY

  • @drewski42111

lol, that's hilarious on so many levels. The polar ice caps on jupiter? the GAS GIANT? Seriously though, we should be worried about Mars, I mean NASA has been looking for signs of water on Mars for years- they should've just got you to point them to the ice caps!

  • @drewski42111

Also increased CO2 does not necessarily mean more plant-derived O2. Most C3 plants will be able to produce more O2 given a small increase in CO2, but that quickly reaches a saturation point where O2 production no longer increases. Then you're left with lots of plants respiring (producing CO2) at night and taking in only a small fraction during the day. Slightly different for C4 and CAM plants, but same underlying message.

  • fox dosn't believe in evolution so whats new. the earth is flat, the sun goes around the earth, dinosuars are a trick played by the devil. for fox sake lol

  • Global climate change? Or Climate change anthropogenic? Whomever posted this has a serious problem with fact and causal effect. Poor post. The main political debate is centered around whether or not climate change is cyclical or anthropogenic. Doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure that much out. Too bad "mediamatters4america" has yet to understand the discussion in proper context.

  • @luke55664 "The main political debate is centered around whether or not climate change is cyclical or anthropogenic."

I'm not sure you understand the proper context either. What is relevant about the issue is that there is no meaningful doubt within the scientific community that the global climate change we are currently seeing is anything other than anthropogenic. What is being debated there is what anthropogenic activity(s) is to blame. Politics has no part to play on this issue.

  • @kaysandesses You are such a frigging troll. There is no consensus in the scientific community. Prof. Lindzen, MIT atmospheric physicist, has studied 30 years of data and has found that CO2 is leaving our atmosphere at a faster rate. He concludes that CO2 is not the smoking gun. Also, you might want to do a bit of reading on how much we emit compared to that which is naturally occurring. Water vapor accounts for 85% of all greenhouse gas. Earth produces green gas as temps rise, naturally.

  • @luke55664 "You are such a frigging troll."

Fuck off, I've already shown why you indeed are the true troll here.

    You're dismissed.

  • @luke55664 Lindzen is very much outside the scientific mainstream. There are always mavericks in every branch of science. The consensus that human activities are the primary contributor to dangerous climate change is so high as to be quite unusual in science - why run off with a fringe figure like Lindzen, whose work has not convinced the experts?

  • @topologyrob You are completely out of the mainstream. THERE IS NO CONSENSUS among scientists. In fact, they have zero evidence that climate change is anthropogenic. True fact! What they do agree on is that our planet has survived several "Super Greenhouse" atmospheres. All long before humans existed. Throughout the past 1.6 million years there have been 18 extreme climatological shifts in our atmosphere. Lindzen's Co2 report has yet to be challenged much less disproved. Nice try!

  • @kaysandesses I posted in the open comment box whereas you decided to comment on a comment. You are the epitome of a true internet troll. You're not very smart either. Now piss off.

  • @luke55664 "I posted in the open comment box whereas you decided to comment on a comment."

Yes I did. You see, that's the purpose of the "Reply" button.

"You are the epitome of a true internet troll. You're not very smart either."

Let's see here: you make allegations that are contrary to fact and when challenged to support your allegation with independent evidence, you instead resort to a baseless ad hominem attack.

So who's really the fucking troll here?

  • @kaysandesses Try not yo drown in your own hyperbole troll. Maybe making a point would serve you better. Start with having a point other than the one atop your ignorant head.

  • "Climate Debate" ?? LOL, you meant to say "Global Warming Debate". I don't think FOX have fought against science as much as the scientists themselves have.

You people think you are so important that the earth isn't even in charge?! The earth was here long before you, and will remain long after you. The planet will be extremely hot and cold again.

  • @ladylordess Exactly, It is so ironic that "mediamattaers" posts a video about Fox's credibility. They post the discredited Maryland study funded by George Soros that says Fox viewers are misinformed and articles posted on mediamatters website. The power of this video's own "dis-credibility" only reaffirms Fox's credibility. This video is really laughable. XD

  • @bluegsp You nailed it!!!! You are a better reporter than mediamatters4america! Their brand of "media" no longer matters!

  • @ladylordess :) The earth makes the things it needs, including 'intelligent technological organisms'. The "ecological purpose" of 'intelligent technological organisms' is to prevent extinction by accident of nature. Accidents like stars entering nova phase, gamma ray bursts, comets, asteroids etc. :) God is not a kind of Hitler. Why do you think 'the shepherd instinct' is "hard wired"; could it be 'the instinct' of 'intelligent technological organisms' ?

  • @vladdrac88 LOL. The earth was made by God, and on that earth it created an Obama. I'm quite sure that is a thing that the earth made that we do no need. The earth also created Hitler (and God gave him and all humans free will) Like Obama, Hitler was also, a thing that the earth created that we do not "need".

Nothing intelligent about either of them.

Only Greed! Greed is their natural instinct. They both want to rule the world.

  • @ladylordess I like at least a little science, even with my 'theological theory'. The latest in cosmology is "M Theory" . In this theory, the universe is composed of multiple dimensions and "membranes", at least one of which is infinite. In this infinite dimension, an immortal consciousness is inevitable, so there may be an 'infinite mind' in an infinite body. God did not have to make the universe. God is merely bringing order to it. IT does not want to rule. It wants to enjoy. :)

  • @ladylordess PS God does not like Rupert Murdoch or his friends. They are warmongers. God feels sorry for warmongers. Don't worry, IT doesn't like warmongers of whatever race, creed or national origin. In ITS kindness its giving Rupert and friends this last life to reform. If they fail to reform, Rupert and his friends will find themselves on a planet whose star is going nova phase ( the "Fiery Lake" thing you know ? ) No immortality for that sort. :)

  • @ladylordess Give this a little thought when you're sitting on the potty or some such. The ecological purpose of intelligent technological species, is the preservation of biospheres when the native planet and star are no longer able to do so. Of course this can't be proven until you've run across at least a couple of alien biospheres with resident, intelligent technological species. That won't be for a while as you are to busy killing each other to build 'starships'. :)

  • @vladdrac88 God loves all. Even you! lol. Imagine that, if you can!

Give this a thought, as it supersedes even that, God created the stars.

It really is that simple. You will one day learn the truth, the even religions do not teach.

    Until such time.........

  • FOX NEWS: We lie; you comply.

  • It was 108 degrees here in Virginia last week, can't call global warming a hoax now can you Oreilly/Hannity huh, not to mention the big big storms predicted to hit this year (already those like the three funnel tornado are a clear scientifically viable sign that things are getting worse not better) but wait, that's science God forbid these Christian extremists listen to scientific facts....

  • There is a quick simple solution to global warming. It is called Muon Catalysed Fusion. As worked on by Star Scientific NO CO2. NO Greenhouse Gases. NO Toxic Waste. The source is dueterium from the World's Oceans - virtually limitless It is cheap to produce. WE NEED IT NOW. See the website - "Star Scientific Limited". Blog - "The Big Picture by Andrew Horvath" Youtube video "In the Footsteps of Fusion"
  • How much does anyone want to bet that when all the pieces are in finally in place the "ClimateGate" hacking will have had something to do with NewsCorp and "News of the World"?

  • Got to love how conservatives and FOX viewers are so worried about their grandchildren and the national debt yet refuse to come to grips with a dying planet. If you're worried about what your children will face economically then you should fear what's happening to this planet and your grandchildren's future. It's real and the only people who want you to ignore it is people like BP and Exxon and the companies that will have to pay extra to clean up their emissions. This real. Wake up.

  • FUCT SNOOZE .. They distort you comply you moronic fox viewers .

  • Seeing Fox's talking heads standing in a snow storm, talking about RECORD snowfall, and then decry it as PROOF there is no "Global warming" is as idiotic as if they said it standing in the desert in 120' heat. They equate "Global warming" with "Summer in the Wintertime". Their world begins & ends at the borders of the U.S.. They don't realize that when it is Winter here, it's SUMMER South of the equator, where all that evaporated water comes down here as SNOW. *Record* snow.

  • O'Reilly doesn't know why the sea goes in and out and Hannity thinks 'cos there is more snow global warming isn't real. These people are not only jaw droppingly ignorant (lest face it that is WHY they are right wingers) but they insist on sharing it with everyone else. In a DEMOCRATIC US Fox would have NO audience because there would be too few ignorant morons left...

  • i hate fox news

  • Now that we have record breaking high temperatures everywhere, where is Sean Hannity the hypocrite?

  • @gupsphoo It's snowing in the southern hemisphere, so IHateAmericaHannity will still claim the same lies, repeatedly. Hannity is one of the biggest dorks in TV history, no wonder he's a tea bagger star!

  • Climate change is total bullshit created by Liberals so that they can tax our natural resources even more.

  • @winthiswar Man you aren't even trying.

  • @concordat He's another Lee Doren, Barfing With Bob lemming.........known repeater of false narratives fed to his tiny brain just like drhu.

  • @winthiswar MORON. Lets see what that protowarmist thinks about taxes?

'Gore Carbon Tax ' on youtube - NO *NET* TAX INCREASE!

'Dr. James Hansen - A Low-Loss Electrical Grid and Carbon Tax ' on you tube NO *NET* TAX INCREASE!

Oh and know where the middle class came from? It was created BY GOVERNMENT TAXES (and by backing unions).

    WAKE UP!

GOVERNMENT has been researching global warming for more than 50 years and over that time taxes have DECREASED why? LOON...

  • @drhu Wow an ignorant, paranoid right winger - there's a first eh? (yes that WAS irony).

  • @drhu Look kid I READ BOOKS, I know more about the issue than you ever will! Stay away from Alex Jones and renew your library ticket...

The left want (as I effin pointed out - are you TOTALLY INSANE?) to use a Pigovian tax which is jointly redistributed to the 3rd world, invest in transitional technologies and GIVEN BACK TO THE PEOPLE...

Now, WHAT PRAY TELL IS THE RIGHTS SOLUTION? To destroy the effin planet!

Basically the right are wrong about EVERYTHING but their delusions wont let them see!

  • @StunnedByStupidity you have no idea what you are talking about, you wrote this message about three months ago but you clearly are out to lunch on the overall global issue.

  • @zoomorphicrap Say something concrete or go away you right wing bigot - BTW you know what a 4oC temperature rise over the next 50-90years means? 1 MILLION people dead PER WEEK (bunched later in the temperature rise) over that period BILLIONS DEAD! - there is NOTHING you could possibly do worse than deny global warming this late and this dangerously in the game... WAKE THE FUCK UP!

  • @StunnedByStupidity well said!

  • @StunnedByStupidity It may be that 'they' think all the dead will be good thing. Do you think if Murdoch were operating in Germany in the 1930's his News Corpse would have been anti Nazi?.

  • @vladdrac88 I am convinced they think its OTHERS that will do the dying not their families - ALL of the US is UNINHABITABLE at 4oC rise - the country that hates immigrants will be emigrating - VERY ironic... And Murdoch is a far right fascist who is aligned STRONGLY with these characteristics::

'14 signs of fascism-The USA turning into a fascist country?' on youtube

These people REALLY ARE fascists. IRONICALLY considering all their false umbrage about being labeled as such...

  • @StunnedByStupidity I've studied the subject for more than half a century :) Personally I think they are very wrong, but that is what happens when even scholars can be corrupted by love of 'standing' and grants. It saddens me to think that the changes human culture needs will not come from reason but rather tragedy. Looking at the bright side; In the future, when 'its' all over money will never overrule reason and science again.

  • Comment removed

  • @vladdrac88 Sorry missread the post - I feel silly now 'Personally I think they are very wrong' threw me - thought you were a denialist - then realized it was part of converstaion stared earlier - my humble apology...

  • @StunnedByStupidity :) OK My writing skills are not the best. My usage of 'they' was directed at the 'academics' who have defended the oil companies etc positions. I can see how the way I used the 'they' might have sounded like I was agreeing with the fox faction.

  • @vladdrac88 Really sorry mate. Have just spent a couple of hours out with my dog listening to Kevin Anderson - so was VERY primed to go off on one:

'Climate Change: Going beyond the dangerous' on youtube

Its ironic that the climatologists have just about given up before the right wingers even acknowledge there is a real threat... MY HEART BREAKS...

  • @StunnedByStupidity You might enjoy this. Google search: Burckle Abyssal Crater : Did this impact produce' ( global deluge ). When all is said and done, this "impact" will change our understanding of the development of early human culture. The authors fail to mention one "Immanuel Velikovsky" who got a whole lot wrong but also got a whole lot right. 'Intelligent technological species' just might have a really important "ecological purpose".

  • @drhu what, like tax the billionaires who actually deserve to pay more than the rest of us but get to pay less because of the republicans?

  • @winthiswar .. WOW.. that's very nice, well researched winthewar... I'm sure you've read many of the studies and can refute them scientificially, as does Hannity and Glen Beck. Good Job..

  • Fox viewers are the equivalent to flat earthers. They are hopelessly undereducated and proud to be ignorant MORONS. Luckily, most are OLD FUCKS and nature will take care of them soon. :)

  • No comment from Fox about the heatwave.

    Fair and balanced... my ass!

  • Global cooling....lol! It's almost 100 degrees in western NY State today! That is unheard of. We haven't had any rain in well over a month! That is also unheard of in my neck of the woods! Fox only cares about making money, not about saving the planet. They don't have the compassion or conscience to care.

  • Jocelyn Fong might be able to convince Fox News of Global Warming.

  • This is why we need more scientists in the public discourse. We have so many experts in business and economics in the media, and all of them feel qualified to talk about things they are totally ignorant of.

  • The reason this issue is so partisan is because conservatives don't want to believe that they are not exceptional to this planet. If Earth is destroyed (or the Michael Crichton theory that Earth will go on, but climate change will cause current life to go extinct, and make way for new life) this would make mainstream religious beliefs useless. They need someone like FNC to tell them that it's all okay, nothing to worry about, God is in control, and human exceptionalism is not in jeopardy.

  • 6:05 herp te derp de derp, Ah Bachmann, if only I could put you in an air tight sealed room you would realize the stupidity of that statement.

  • I love how these idiot Republicans, who know NOTHING about scientific fact or process, are so willing to stand up and refute the peer reviewed research and evidence. Anything to keep the wheels of business turning at all costs, even if that cost is our own extinction.

    Hope everyone's enjoying the heatwave.

  • @ChipArgyle they are not idiots, and they know quite a lot about scientific fact. they have to learn about it before they can figure out the most effective way to lie about it.

However, they bet on the ignorance of their target group.

Hanlons Razor (Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity.) can not satisfactorily explain the consistency and efficiency of their denial.

  • @ChipArgyle They know that their own miserable lives are short, so the secret is that they fear it--they realize it is probably true, but they wink to their buddies and pretend otherwise.

  • @shadowfaxx1 Scary fact: ever notice that the world is run by mostly grumpy old men who have little or no stake in the outcomes of their decisions? It makes me shudder.

  • Hmm you would think that all those guys on fox who thought snow in December was evidence was proof that climate change doesnt exist would be changing their story given the record heat wave across the country including Minnesota with a heat index of 130...strange, its almost like they are slanted in the way they present their coverage of climate issues.

  • I wish hell existed for these rat-bastards. Distorting the truth for short term financial gains is criminal at best and down right traitorous to our species at worst.

  • Right now its over 98 degrees here

  • @drhu The information you've missed is out there if only you're willing to look.

And from your comment it's clear you have about as much interest in looking as Fox does in facts.

  • @integral drhu has said here on these MM4A videos that he doesn't need facts to form an opinion and facts just don't matter. He's a punk ass Lee Doren lemming anyway, a huge moron.

Very typical of some of these tea bagger dorks, they just ignore facts and them brag about it like drhu does.

One fact he'll never regard is the FACT climategate was an industry/corporate drummed up hoax, no one was caught with false data, no one! But he repeats that lie with tea bagger glee and ignorance.

  • Retards don't know the difference between precipitation and temperature.

  • LOVE DC Douglas!

  • Rupert Murdoch's Fox News television channel had a "black ops" department that may have illegally hacked private telephone records, a former executive for the station has alleged.

Dan Cooper, who helped launch Fox News as managing editor in 1996, said that a so-called "brain room" carried out "counter intelligence" on the channel's enemies from its New York headquarters, and that he was threatened after it found out he spoke to a reporter.

  • Murdoch and his son James, who runs News Corp.’s Europe and Asia operations, each said they were not aware of the widespread illegal practices at the paper. They said they do not believe their top lieutenants were aware of the hacking or bribes

Only the worst disgusting trolls like drhu believe the Murdoch scumbags and defend them to no end. They lie with every word, and the corporate whore lemmings like drhu buy into those lies hook line and sinker.

  • Messages show the two discussing “paying a police contact for restricted information, including phone numbers, of members of the British royal family,” Reuters said.

The email traffic shows Coulson and Goodman discussed a “four figure sum” in exchange for for a confidential information about the movements, locations and phone numbers of members of the royal family.

  • London police have proof in smoking-gun emails that former News of the World editor Andy Coulson knew of bribes paid to police officers, Reuters reported Thursday.

The evidence, Reuters said, comes in an email exchange between Coulson – who after leaving the paper became spokesman for a time for now-Prime Minister David Cameron – and Clive Goodman, the paper’s then-royals correspondent.

  • Executives and others at the company also enjoyed close social ties to Scotland Yard’s top officials. Since the hacking scandal began in 2006, Mr. Yates [the assistant commissioner] and others regularly dined with editors from News International papers, records show. Sir Paul Stephenson, the police commissioner, met for meals 18 times with company executives and editors during the investigation, including on eight occasions with Mr. Wallis while he was still working at The News of the World….

  • So News Corp would obviously now be on the top of anybody’s short list for possible suspects in the Climategate hacking. At the same time, we now know things were so cozy between News Corp, Wallis, and Scotland Yard that it is hard to believe News Corp would have been thoroughly investigated for Climategate, if they were investigated at all.

  • Indeed, in this country, a division of News Corp had a federal case brought against it for “hacking its way into Floorgraphics’s password protected computer system.” The complaint said News America had “illegally accessed plaintiff’s computer system and obtained proprietary information” and “disseminated false, misleading and malicious information about the plaintiff.” Sounds familiar, no?

  • In the light of the News Corp phone-hacking scandal, it is clear that Murdoch’s outfit had means, motive, and opportunity for the Climategate email hacking. News Corp certainly has a history of defaming climate scientists and a penchant for hacking.

  • Certainly Wallis had plenty of motive to join Scotland Yard just to keep an eye on the investigation into the phone-hacking scandal. Indeed, the NY Times reports Wallis “was reporting back to News International while he was working for the police on the hacking case.” But this also suggests how corrupt Wallis was — and how corrupted Scotland Yard was.

  • Now we know that one of the key investigative bodies tasked with tracking down the hackers — Scotland Yard – were compromised at the time.

How were they compromised? Neil Wallis — the former News of the World executive editor — became a “£1,000 a day” consultant to Scotland Yard in October 2009. Last week he became the ninth person arrested in the metastasizing News Corp scandal “on suspicion of conspiring to intercept communications, contrary to section 1(1) Criminal Law Act 1977.”

  • Will we find out now who hacked those emails?

  • Ah, USA, where people in the government know less about basic science than high school students from many other countries (and even their own country).

  • @83Hammerhead "Ah, USA, where people in the government know less about basic science" True some way less than others. We call those "Republicans."

  • @83Hammerhead

Yes people would sign a petition to ban the life cycle.

  • @chewbaca1989 It's well known that the life cycle has a liberal bias ;)

  • @83Hammerhead I like in the US, and I completely agree. The education needs to be reformed and politicians need to be held to a higher standard. Call me crazy, but teachers' salary should be increased by 100% to make the field more competitive via attracting more people to the field. Have better teachers and then better methods of teaching introduced.

  • @willquestion yes, sadly the US educational system is one of the worst among industrialized nations. And you've got many conservative politicians saying that teachers earn too much, in some places they're trying to bring creationism into science classes, good schools are very expensive, you've got schools lowering their grade requirements so they can get more money, etc...it's a pretty messed up situation.

  • @83Hammerhead It makes me ashamed to be an american.

  • @sabertooth1980 Don't be ashamed, take it as an inspiration to try and change something by voting, talking to people about these things, educate yourself about your possibilities. I know it seems like a losing battle sometimes, but real change comes from the people! There are many things you can be proud of about your country, try to see things more positively. Best of luck :)

  • Its no mystery that the Conservative party GOP is deeply in bed with the radical fundamentalist Creationist Christians and use hysteria and lies about Science to confuse the average uneducated person about the truth. Obviously the Koch Bros have a monetary agenda, not a religious one, but they have stirred up confusion and doubt about REAL scientific facts by appealing to superstition. Same people who doubt Climate change usually doubt Evolution as well. Go figure.

  • I actually think that there will be a world wide famine problem in the future. Will it be caused by climate change??? Maybe. By over population? More likely. Will millions die? Probably. Of all the earths problems the rate of increase of inhabitants vs the resources available to feed them is far more serious than inevitable climate change and, like it or not, will be a self correcting solution to overpopulation. There, that should get some discussion going.....

  • @CaptBobPacific Scientifically speaking, it takes significantly more energy from the sun being transferred through the food chain to produce meat than fruits and vegetables. I think it is 1/10th of the energy absorbed by a plant will be absorbed by what eats it (say a cow), and then 1/10th of that by what eats the cow. We could make more food than we produce now.

Some say that globally, we make enough food to feed the everyone. But people starve because of political and economic reasons.

  • Bill Sammon's letter to his staff is really indicative of what is wrong with the media in the United States, I believe Bachem Macuno summed it up pretty well: "they are part of a system of information distillation that takes as its mandate the even-handed presentation of opposite positions as though they were equal: centuries ago they'd have said the world may be round or it may be flat; to side with one or the other is editorialism, not journalism, so we'll regard the two notions as equal."

  • @concordat

    continued

"Who is served by a media that elevates opposite notions of grossly unequal scientific or intellectual merit and holds them as equal, that for the sake of objectivity refuses to draw a conclusion when presenting them to a population largely unable to draw a conclusion for itself? Certainly not those who wish for a more enlightened citizenry."

  • @concordat

Of course that's describing the mainstream media outlets such as NBC, ABC, CNN, and why they don't just outright debunk this stuff. Fox News couldn't care less about objectivity.

  • @antipyrene If you take a toilet paper roll and unroll it to represent the earth timeline. Say there are 400 squares, each one represents 12.5million years. Dinosaurs emerged 19 squares ago and departed 5.2 squares ago. Recorded man's history is the last .1mm of the roll. Your 6,000 year measure is the last .06mm. Hardly a significant factor for making your dire predictions. It is like taking your temperature and 5 minutes later seeing it was .5degree higher and predicting imminent death

  • @CaptBobPacific Are you suggesting that mankind is unable to change the climate when they can globally eliminate diseases, cause species that once numbered in the billions to go extinct, significantly thin the ozone layer, and alter the ph level of the ocean more than it has ever changed in the planet's history, all in just a few centuries?

  • @concordat I will give you the ozone layer. But, only one disease Smallpox has been eliminated globally. Which species numbered in the billions did man cause to go extinct? A number of different species have gone extinct since man emerged but even then a paltry few number compared to the eons and billions of species that have come and gone. The ph levels too have changed with varying CO2 levels. We are still under the last spike in level 650million years ago and that was only one of many.

  • @CaptBobPacific The ph levels have never changed as much as they have since the industrial revolution, even when comparing those centuries to entire epochs.

The passenger pigeon of North America once numbered in the billions, and went extinct due to hunting.

Rinderpest, a disease of cattle, was declared eradicated in 2011

Humans can affect this planet. In fact that volcano in Iceland that grounded all major airline travel actually caused less CO2 emissions than those airline flights would have.

  • @antipyrene It is not at all irrelevant to discuss long term cycles. there have been at least 5 ice ages over the last 2 billion years. One 700million years ago reached equatorial regions. CO2 levels 650million years ago were higher than today and their cycles of high/low levels roughly follow the ice ages. 120,000 years ago Earth temperatures were higher than today as well. To see a trend in the last few thousand years is irrelevant when compared to long term trends.

  • @CaptBobPacific The issue is the climatic conditions that human civilization can endure (the last 6000 years)...Climate over the long history of Earth isn't relevant, the 3 primary natural causes of climate change(changes in Earth's orbit/axis, changes in solar output, and increases of volcanic activity) are not at work right now (BTW the snowball Earth of 700 million years ago was ended by high co2 levels caused by volcanic activity) The only suspect for current warming is fossil fuel usage

  • @CaptBobPacific And a rise of 5 to 10 degrees (which is a possible outcome in the next 100 years) would be catastrophic...we are playing Russian roulette with our civilization to feed our fossil fuel addiction

  • @antipyrene And you plan to replace fossil fuel addiction with what??? Wind mills, solar, nuclear??? At some point we will need to replace fossil fuel as an energy source because it is finite. Still, nothing available today can do the job. Come up with a solution..... If you answer comes back as simplifying our lives, walking to work, weaving our own clothes, and returning to the pre-fossil fuel days save your breath. That is simply not going to happen. Find an energy source as flexible.

  • @CaptBobPacific That makes sense, but the peoblem is we WILL go to some draconian alternative when we run out of fossil fuels if we don't invest now in alternatives like yes solar, wind, geothermal etc... they can replace fossil fuels but deeply entrenched corporate power will resist any effort to do so as long as it's in the immediate interest of their shareholders to do so. That's why we the people need to be making policies, not Exxon, Cheveron, Mobile, BP.

  • It is time for an independent investigation into the Climategate email hacking. We now know that for four years, Scotland Yard sat on evidence suggesting the phones of “nearly 4,000 celebrities, politicians, sports stars, police officials and crime victims” had been hacked.

So the Climategate investigation should not involve Scotland Yard, and should investigate whether News Corp had any involvement. It could start by investigating whether News Corp hacked the phone of any climate scientists.

  • @Neoconhater THREE separate independent investigations have ALREADY been done on Climategate and ALL found zero wrong doing.

  • @scrabbleking1965 Yep, and the ignorance still spews about that phony and perhaps Murdoch involved completely false narrative/lie.

The investigations did NOT find out who did the hacking, my bet it was the Murdoch cronies. That is the independent investigation needed, we all know it was bulltripe begin with, the perps need exposure.
