It took me about 3 months before I realised I was hooked well and truely because it is a gradual process that creeps up on you like a sneaky little devil. Best not to take any type of opiate. Methadone and subbies are far harder and take many months to get off. The docs don't have a clue what they do to people's lives. It's legal dealing.
How long we're you addicted ? If it was that easy why doesn't everyone just smoke weed? I'm sure most people have tried this including me and it don't do jack shit for a hardcore methadone and heroin addict. In fact when your sick it makes it worse. Just my experience. 15 years addict for me.
@MrMcNell you dont know what you're talking about. I have the worst pain ever and non-narcotics don't help the pain. even with the narcotic I still feel the pain. I actually had to go without for 2 weeks because my doctor was on vacation and mentally I felt the same no anxiety or depression, no withdrawl at all, but the pain was so bad I was taking like 10-12 tylenol a day. everyones different- not all people feel "euphoria" on pain pills.
@MrMcNell alright well I'm really sorry for you thats terrible, but I don't appreciate you accusing me of being an addict when you don't even know me and you have no idea what kind of pain i'm in. anyway its all good.. have you ever heard of mushrooms treating cluster headaches? google " drugs inc. national geographic - magic mushroom medicine"
If you can make it for 24 hours without intence anxiety you probably wont get it. The extent of withdrawal seems directly related to the dose you were taking when you went off the drug. The higher the dose the more severe the symtoms of withdrawal. This is my opinion.
only certain people get addicted. I've been on hydrocodone 10-325 (NORCO) for almost 9 months after having surgery.I here alot of people get addicted to norcos but I'm not addicted at all I could stop anytime I want
I don't think tolerance rises as fast as people think. I think you get *psychologically* used to the feeling so the next time you take it you feel like you don't feel it because you're more used to it, so you try more thinking its tolerance when really it's just not noticing as much the feeling of being high.
The of course they do get used to higher and higher doses.
I've stayed on a stable dose of opiates at various points in my life over a year at least without upping the dose.
you are a liar...period way down the road ...get a real job and quite praying on innocent people that feel a little shaky from finishing a small clinical dose of opiates some woud should shut you down ....been on pain management for 6 years and i am fine
You are not even lying. I went from 10 mil of norco to 80 mil at one dose within 6 months. Im now taking 120 mil a day, 80x3. What can I take to get rid of the withdraw? Its bad, really bad! Day one is OK, day two is nasty and day three. Well, lets just say that its so bad that I go back to using. I've tried methadone and I think its worse. Anything that can make a junk clean again?
@neil73 I am a recovering opiate addict and I never had the willpower to get clean. Then I OD'd back in July, and was literally on my death bed. Huge eye opener, to which I never thought I would stop!! Admitting you have a problem is so much harder than anything!!
OH please dont add to the myth side its a terrible affliction without lies like these adding to misinformation!! Tell it honestly is all it needs to put off kids.
why does someone get 20 pills just because they got their tooth out? I only got 2 and didn't take them.

cold turkey
kitchenfromhell 5 months ago
@kitchenfromhell no, cold turkey is dangerous- you can relapse. its better to just taper off by reducing your dosage every day
wickawickawick 3 weeks ago
So with all these dangers why do docs hand scripts for these drugs out like candy?

They get addicted because Docs keep prescribing it? Would that be a good answer?

@TheCaosClan Suboxone or Subutex. but then you've got to get off that. But the most important thing is willpower. You've got to WANT to do it.
