Though explosive...this really does NOT interest me...in fact, the extreme take off is the focal point of the ride because at those speeds you can't bank turns very sharp. I'd much rather ride, hell, Flight of Fear at KI and KD...sure, the take off is slower but it's still an LIM and kicks ass...but after that you're sent through a gauntlet of inversions and highly banked turns, including one of the BEST corkscrews I have ever experienced.

Let me set this straight.

First, forget Ring Racer, because it's not open because of a defect in the launch system. If Ring Racer was open, it would be the fastest coaster in the world (134.8 mph), and the SECOND fastest accelerating coaster in the world (54 mph/sec).

Dodonpa, while not the fastest for speed, is fastest for acceleration-at 59 mph/sec.

Kingda Ka is the world's fastest coaster. It is NOT the fastest accelerating coaster, not even close. It's acceleration is 36 mph/sec.
