  • Memories, I landed at kai tak in a military DC3 1966.

  • is the 9dragsons sencery freeware of payware

  • @JACKO13100 This is the 9Dragons Kai Tak freeware scenery I got off of Avsim.

  • 100 Feet 50 40 30 20 10 Fett *touch down* Lmao That Was FAst. XD

  • which concorde addon is it?

    great video!

  • @lectar15 Thanks. This is the SSTSim Concorde for FS2004. Cheers.

  • I just can't believe the amount of displaced threshold there is on the runway!

  • @simpledudeable a low speed landing of a concorde is 150 kts with no flaps. A normal airliner lands ar about 130-140 with the flaps engaged and speedbrakes. The concorde has nothing but brakes and reverse thrust.

  • is that fs9 or fsx or reality

  • @cst1908 This is Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004.

  • At first i thought it was a real video, then i saw it was FS. XD

  • HAHA great camera shacking! nice touch

  • LOL the Shaking camera. Rough but good landing. You would probably get GameCam.

  • Great job dude!

  • whoa, where'd you get the simulator? or what ever its called. this is pretty cool!

  • Thanks! This is Microsoft's Flight Simulator 2004, beefed up with a number of addons available as freeware as well as payware.

  • very nice 5*

  • hard landng nice vdeo

  • looks tough nice job

  • thx man ill look for it,looks so real ,shame there is nothing similar for fsx,i instaled tampa kai but is not as real as that, thx again

  • how do u get those lights pls best videos ive seen

  • Do you mean the city lights? This is the old 9Dragons Kai Tak freeware scenery I got off of Avsim.

  • yoo..that last view was ...funny

  • Where can I get this plane ? Great Video !

  • This is the SSTSim Payware Concorde for FS2004. Google the name, and you'll find it on sale from Flight1 as well as SSTSim themselves.

  • That was great

  • When I installed the SSTSIM, the sounds are very poor. The sounds stay the same inside and outside the cockpit. Also, I cant seem to see any fire/exsuaust effects. Any help? Or do I have to set all this up? PLEASE REPLY ASAP!

  • The sounds should be different between the interior and exterior models. The afterburner is located on the throttle quadrant, right behind the throttle levers. Push those 4 square buttons before you take off, and you'll see those effects.

  • I was stupid and forgot to turn on my sound. lol. As for the After Burner, you can hit Shift + F4 to arm the After Burner. can you send me as message on how to set up the concorde, you dont have to go into detail, just a little. Thanks a buch

    Slade

  • The procedures are located within the manual. Since I don't start the Concorde Cold and Dark, I don't know the start-up procedures in much detail.

  • very nice video. 5*

  • where do u get that concorde and its payware right

  • Yes, this is the SSTSim Concorde.

  • how do u get the camera angles and the one watching the concorde coming to land from the runway??

  • It's a payware program called DBS Walk and Follow. It's got some pretty excellent features. Thanks for watching. Cheers.

  • no worries very good video , the views amazing , how did u set the dbs up?? is it easy?:

  • Very easy. It even comes with a manual.

  • I have a bad problem in that when it comes to virtual cockpit, or cockpit gauges have black and all is black help me!! please i have too sstsim

  • I am not a support representative, therefore I don't know how to help fix your problem. Why don't you go over to their forums and ask your questions there.

  • Ouch...! Looks like your turn was a little too close to the runway.

Nice vid, like the way you make it seem real with camera vibrations.

    Check out my vids...

  • is it fs2004 ?

  • Yes, this is Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004. Thanks for viewing!

  • WOW, really impressive approach! Very difficult airport to land on...

  • A little more flare would be a plus... not sure if the low approach speed made that impossible?

  • That wind shear right at the very end of the IGS approach slammed me into the ground, I tried as hard as I could to keep the aircraft at a reasonable speed for the approach. Cheers.

  • nice video. what add ons do you have for hong kong scenery? by the way, whats the best pay ware 777 i can buy, bearing in mind that PSS has shut down. cheers

  • I released this video early last year. From then, I have moved onto FlyTampa's payware Hong Kong scenery, which is a world more detailed than 9Dragons' freeware package. My personal recommendation for a payware 777 is from Wilco/Feelthere. Do a Google search and you'll find it. Cheers.

  • theres this website with a bunch of awesome Ex-paywares for free i found an awesome and I mean Awesome 772 and 773

  • and what is this website?

and are yoiu really from virginia?

  • yes I am

    just google aeropastiale concorde

  • so whats the website then

  • Look what I just said and do what it says

  • Very cool video. I am sorry to ask but i never saw a windshield-wiper -switch , where is it? O.o

    5*

    -Felix

  • Thanks DeKarle. The wiper switch is very small and located on the center console towards the copilot's backrest. Refer to the manual if you can't find it. Cheers.

  • thank you =)

  • That Was Alot Of Flare! Should've gone a tiny bit faster :) Nicer Plane And Landing :)

    Vidaction

  • very nice! does the SSTsim concorde has autobrakes?

  • I believe the SSTSim model does have the autobrake system modeled. Cheers.

  • This is cool. where can i download this game?

Or do i have to buy it?

    What game is it?

  • This is Microsoft's Flight Simulator 2004.

  • I love the rain effect on the window. Does it come with the package?

  • The windshield wiper sounds, the wiper animations, and the effects come standard with the SSTSim Concorde. Cheers.

  • When can you make a Tenerife Disaster 1977 video and please make the video longer about 7:00 i will watch it

  • Excuse me, I was wondering if you know a solution to my problem. My problem is the I have this Concorde, but when I go to the Virtual Cockpit view, I can't push or do anything. The Cockpit Window was completly black, the Altidude, Vacuum systems wern't working. I was woundering if you could help me.

  • Hello there. I don't have any way to help you other than to suggest that you reinstall the package. This will hopefully eliminate the problems that you're having. Cheers.

  • Okay then. Thanks anyway! =]

  • in real life, with the "windshear" callout, we have written in our SOP to go around...for example, also during take off....if we have the windshear prediction, it's a rejected takeoff...

In your landing, as I'm a real pilot, I would have performed a safe go around..

in any case, good video ;-)

  • As I am also a pilot of a C152, I well agree with your point. But this is all for the fun of landing the magnificent Concorde at Kai Tak under extreme circumstances! Cheers.

  • Hi!

Great video, amazing Kai Tak and Concorde! 5*!

I have the SSTSIM Concorde...is the "Windshear" callout implemented?

How can you set the windshear in FS2004?

    Thank you for upload!

  • The "Windshear" callout is not included with the standard SSTSim installation. There are a few GPWS (Ground Proximity Warning System) utilities available on Avsim and other freeware providers. The one I use is Rcbgp-33 from Avsim's File Library.

  • not much time to 'decide'

  • good that detect crash was disabled

  • It was enabled, but the impact wasn't hard enough and didn't hit any key parts of the fuselage, which didn't trigger the crash.

  • how did ur camera shake when u landed?

  • I shook it myself with my hand, this video was recorded with a video camera.

  • oh ok, do you know if active camera can do that in the game?

  • Yes, Active Camera 2004 has a feature that adds "head latency" to the simulator.

  • even when im landing without recording right?

  • Affirmative.

  • thanks man!

  • phew that was a pretty fast touchdown for the first one (each . represents one mississippi) its supposed to be like this 50..40.30.20.10 but still nice landing and plane oh and good aproach is kai taks approaches like that?

  • Yes, it is the IGS 13 "Checkerboard" approach into Kai Tak, which has a curved approach pattern.

    Thanks for the comments! Cheers.

  • hmm i wonder why

  • This was because there were a set of high hills behind the runway which prevented a safe straight-in approach, so a proper pattern to arrive at Runway 13 was constructed to create a safer, more efficient approach into Kai Tak.

  • oh cool thanks

  • It Sound Like A 100 Year Old MAN LOL

  • Ten sounds like Teen.

  • LOL It does

  • lol.

  • FS2004, A Century of Flight.

  • what fs is this

  • Windshear = immediate go around!

  • Haha, those are windshield wipers in the rain. Cheers.

  • do we hear a ink jet printer printing the whole time in the background?

  • Crash was on, and I didn't get any messages. It was hard, but not hard enough to set it off. Cheers and thanks for all your comments!

  • that's a very very very hard landing

if you turned on the crash detector, it will give a ( CRASH !!! ) :)

anyway, the video was amazing, and enjoyed to watch it :)

  • This is FS2004. It's the SSTSim Concorde, go Google it. Cheers.

  • Is this Flight simulator X, and where can I find the Concord?

  • Geez that was a way too hard impact for the landing gear, it would have collapsed in real life

  • it might jump back up in the air

  • maybe, but Concorde was designed to be stronger than most subsonic aircraft because it had to endure much higher landing speeds. Also, because of the vortex lift its wings created, there was often a "cushion" right before touchdown. Very good video featuring one of the most advanced aircraft, and the jewel of Hong Kong-Kai Tak.

  • GOOD VIDEO, keep an eye on pitch and altitude

  • nice a bit hard...

  • a little hard landing and too much pitch angle (the engine hits the runway) but nice

  • very good!

    Thank you for uploading! ;)

  • The wiper switch is located in the center console next to the throttle controls.

  • so for those who said its a tailstrike....if you know concord, you should also know that it has a wheel at the tail, so you cant do a tailstrike with damage....where can i find the wiper button ?

  • This is a 38 knot crosswind on the Kai-Tak Checkerboard approach in a Concorde at night. I made a slight tailstrike on landing but I made it without damaging the aircraft too seriously. Cheers.

  • That is a crash. Not that I would do it better than you....

  • nice video, but you landed rather hard, think about the personnel who overhaul the landing gear... : )

  • This is the SSTSim Concorde and details are in the About this Section of this page. Cheers.

  • great graphics and were did u get the concorde

  • Ouch, my butt! lol, nice vid though

  • Thats incredible!Welldone!

  • good, you hit hard because you were slow though

  • agreed

  • I didn't know airplanes had windshield wipers!!!

  • yea they, they are used when the plane is going slower like on approach and landing where the raindrops might stay or not fly off quick enough

  • Actually the IGS 13 approach is more like a 45 degree turn towards the runway. If a pilot makes the turn too late, it will require a much steeper bank angle....can you say, "STALL"? The way the approach is designed tries to eliminate such steep bank angles at low altitude/low airspeed :o) Of course this comment isn't for the author of this video

  • This is the SSTSim Concorde, available at the SSTSim website, or off of a payware software vendor such as Flight1, wherever it is available. Prices have changed since official release, so check out Flight1 or SSTSim's main website.

  • Very nice vid! I have my own Kai Tak version...you should go check it out...it's of the 747 though. BTW, is the SSTIM Concorde much different from PSS? I have the PSS one but the VC textures really suck. Flight dynamics are great though.

  • Nice. can i ask where u bought the concorde and how much it was?

    Good Vid.

  • Yes, unfortunately, this was a video taken on the second day that I bought the SSTSim Concorde package, so I wasn't quite used to tackling heavy winds on this approach. The landing wasn't a tail strike though, I did sink before touching down.

  • Ummm, i think you flared way too much and that looked like a tail strike. Other that that, nice vid. looked real in some parts! :P

  • that was a god dam tail strike!

  • I understand you're not trying to be rude, but you're wrong. Kai Tak International's IGS 13 Checkerboard approach has an extreme bank at the very last leg of the final. Therefore it is necessary for many airliners to make a 35 degree+ bank in order to position themselves onto the runway.

  • oh, ok thas info for me!

  • im not trying to be rude but that isnt the correct way to approach an airport

  • its the old kai tak airport which has a 35 deg bank .... with a checker board approach...

  • haha lol. you are a nOOb!

  • im not trying to be rude but that isnt the correct way to approach an airport

  • great video!! i love that Concorde!! where did you get it???

  • This is the SSTSim Concorde, available at the SSTSim website, or off of a payware software vendor such as Flight1, wherever it is available.

  • cool concorde wered ya get it????... plz reply

  • cool concorde wered ya get it????... plz reply

  • I had never known this pack was payware, as it is available fully on Avsim, and other websites for free. I would be curious why they would release it as freeware on some sites, and yet put it out with a price to pay.

  • 9dragons Hong Kong is actually payware but they give it away free aslong as its downloaded from the available webbys. If you download it from anywhere else you're liable to pay for it.

  • Very hard landing, looked like a tail strike.

  • This is the SSTSim Concorde, available at the SSTSim website, or off of a payware software vendor such as Flight1, wherever it is available.

  • What concorde software you using?

  • i went to the SSTSim page and there was no download for it......... is this payware stuff??

  • The 9Dragons scenery from Avsim. It is freeware, and it is the best Kai Tak scenery out there.

  • what kai tak scenery are you using?

  • Yeah, the windshield wipers are actually from the cockpit, but somehow followed me to all the other views. As for Fraps, if I use it to record videos, I get about 5 fps. So that's why I choose to do it with a camera.

  • You also can get fraps so you can record on screen!

  • It sounds like you took this while in a car with it;s windshield wipers were going!

  • Nice video!

    Nice landing!

  • Hit your Alt key to bring down the menu. On the tab called SSTSim, there is another option for the Flight Engineer. Select "On" and he will give you advice as well as Altitude readouts.

  • help..how can i get the voice that indicates how high i am at landings?500 400 20 30 minimum.. ?? sorry to ask here..

  • great question im trying to figure that out. if u find out can you tell me?

  • roflamo... same answer as his :P wait that altitude read out thingy is it on FSX too? or is it fsx @_@

  • umm you can search Altitude Callouts on any aircraft downloads site or GPWS and you should find the voice stuff.

  • I saw to watch on the SSTSIM forum? Well done

  • Nice SSTSIM Concorde

  • Wow, nice video man... that takes skill.

    Laters,

    ~C

  • Nice landing dude, I didn't know there was a tail wheel there! I liked the last ANGLE! =D

  • Thanks for clarifying these points. After reviewing some angles from video clips that I did not include in this video, it is clear that the tail-wheel was fully touching the ground. Yes, I'm quite sure in real life there would be quite a lot of gear damage, but I believe the tail is safe.

  • Nice job overall! Not every pilot can land at that airport with that aircraft! 5/5 stars. :)

  • After reviewing the camera angles it is really hard to say whether there was a tail strike but around 6:11 there appears to be a possible tail strike or just a slight bounce from touchdown. The landing was a little rougher than a pilot would want but the wind was not favorable for landing. Next time try to flare less and apply more thrust to keep the aircraft from slowing in those winds on final. Flare about 3/4 of what you did. Nice approach! Landing was ok unclear tail and landing gear damage.

  • Concorde was finicky about flaring. It liked a pitched up attitude of about 10 degrees above the horizon for touchdown, if you went up 12+ degrees you could catch the tail, if you went 8 degrees or less you'd bury her in the ground ;)

  • It was very delicate... :)

  • No it didn't break anything. I had crash detect on. Anyways the landing wasn't too hard, but it 's pretty clear I was battling the strong crosswind. At least I got it on the ground safely. Thanks.

  • Broke the main landing gear and broke the tail off.. nice1 owell who cares ey? lol KAI TAK is hard. lol 3/5
