I can't remember if the lies were true/It's been a million years since I touched you/I thought time might help me win this game/But bein' away from you is only drivin' me insane
My boyfriend left me and I dont know why just like the song talks about. I love him so much. Every word fits me. Keep playing it over and over. Thanks for the song Richard
I heard this song at a Safeway last thursday and thought it was Kenny Loggins. Looked it up, and saw this video and found out it was Richard Marx. That saturday, found the CD at a Value Village and bought it for a dollar.
I have so many good memories attached to this song (back when my life was less complicated). Thanks for the upload scoobdoggydogg! I heard that Richard Marx used to have a house on Legend Lake which is on the Menominee Indian Reservation near Keshena, Wisconsin. Can anyone confirm if this is true or just a rumor?

love it love it! what a song and album.prairie prince on drums and mike landau on guitar with fee waybill and timothy b schmitt on back up vocals.quality aor like toto, journey and heart!
I think we have all had this experience; someone that in the end we felt it was better to not have known. But alas, we did know them, and life goes on. But it does make for a nice pop song.
You likely would have been like the rest of us... it would have taken you 20 years to realise that the music you were listening to in the 1980's was a hundred times better than what would come after. I wish we had realised it then too but we had no way to know...
Have to disagree on most of the 80's music a lot of it was total dross, Richard Marx was however a noteable exception. Lets not forget that this was a period that brought us such greats as Ultravox and Flock of Seagulls (that was sarcasm by the way) :-)
This has always been a above the average song by Richard Marx. This was the song that really turned on to this guy. Hearing this brings you right back to 1987 that great time in the 80's. It just really gives me chills and makes me feel something.
I would have to agree with Smokes2468, this song really makes me think about the great, great year of 87, when I was 17 and worked out in an Austrian tennis-camp. Gosh, I wonder if I have been ever that free again.
The mullet has to be the worst hairstyle in the entire world whether worn straight or curly! But I have always loved Richard Marx and his music anyway!!!

One of the quintessential break-up songs, ever, especially if the break-up was with your first real love. Believe me, I know.

Another sleepless night I can't explain
Somebody said they heard me call your name
The radio won't let you leave my mind
I know it's over but I don't know why
Should've known better than to fall in love with you
Now love is just a faded memory.
Should've known better
now I'm a prisoner to this pain
And my heart still aches for you.

there was no risk that I wouldn't take
And not a promise that I didn't make
All I asked was that you just hold on
And now I'm wondering what I did wrong Should've known better than to fall in love with you
Now love is just a faded memory.
Should've known better
now I'm a prisoner to this pain
And my heart still aches for you.

Has anyone noticed there are similarities to the "E.R.-theme"?

LOL...you're right. I wonder if that's just a coincidence or they actually based the theme on this tune for some reason.
