  • One of the best 80ties cartoon intros ever! And there are lots of good ones too.

  • Ah...to be 8 years old again...

  • SURRENDER TO THE 80'S OR SUFFER THE CONSEQUENCES!

  • I've been trying to find out the name of this cartoon for the longest. My only memory of this show were the giant unicycles!

  • this old cartoon i have been looking for long time cuz this intro music it's keep it in my head since i was 3 or 4 years but finally and at last found this cartoon on google image ^^

  • I grew up on this shit!!! Long live the 80's!

  • @Marmalade000000 The 80's made the best cartoons EVER! Transformers, He-Man, GI Joe, Voltron, Thundercats & The Real Ghostbusters. 80's also made movies like Die Hard, Ghostbusters, Gremlins, The Karate Kid & my favorite vampire movie from the 80's The Lost Boys. The 80's was the era for music videos, action figures based on cartoons & of course NINTENDO. 80's FTW!!!

  • @jagarcia0705 to rite 30something blokes had the best for tv ,you should the crap my 5 has to watch

  • Battle unicycles are apparently the future of warfare.

    God I miss the 80's.

  • sounds like Paul Engemann, the guy who sang "Push it to the limit" (Scarface).

  • I love this cartoon.

  • SPYYYEEEEE----RAAAAAAALLLL-----ZONE ZONE zone .........

  • I bet Segways took inspiration from the monowheel bikes these guys use. Tilt sensors and all.

  • man i love this series.

  • Rimfire Cannon, Monowheel, that's the coolthing i ever see!

  • AHHH I can't seem to find this villain character from the 80's who was bald and rides a one wheel mobile that resembles the Zone Riders leader's one wheel mobile. But the villain's wheel was way bigger. Could he be on G.I. Joe??? Can't seem to find him there. I remember he was with other villain riders dressed as punks and in black suit I think.

  • Spiral Zone is from 1987.

  • 80s cartoons intros (and some early 90s ones) undeniably kick the shit out of any other intros ever made. Ben 10 can't rock the guitar like Spiral Zone.

  • @Rydonith japanese cartoons from the 70s could pose an effective challenge though

  • @Maetel22 It could be an effective challenge, but American cartoons were famous during the 80's.

  • sounds like a japanese anime song

  • this was from 1988

  • So campy haha

  • I don't remember this at all!

  • ben 10 aint got shit on this

  • Its like Laser tag...TAKEN TO A HIGHER EPIC LEVEL. Thanx heaps. I loved this cartoon when I was 12

  • Anyone else saw that kid in the middle of the road as somewhat creepy?

  • who do we write to get this put on dvd? we already have GI Joe, Transformers, Thundercats, Silverhawks, and MASK on dvd...where is Spiral Zone?

  • @d0zerb0y i don't think spiral zone was to well known about

  • If a cartoon starts off with suck a fuckawesome solo, you know there's gonna be an epicness overflow.

  • How many post apocalyptic cartoons are airing in the afternoons today? Zero. The 80s is by far the golden age of cartoons.

  • HOLY FUCK!!! I have had this cartoon memory in my head for fucking YEARS and never been able to pin it down....thank you sooooo much for posting this and shout outs to NeoGAF for linking me here...oh god what a relief

  • Halo 3 is more epic than this.

  • @BankaiIchigo12345 And how is that? This was produced in 80's.

  • GAH hearing those last 3 words is like being punched in the guy by a fist made of awesomeness

  • I love this show, its a bit SEINEN (Serious) because of its post-apocalyptic plot, but that makes it unique than any other Saturday morning cartoons at its time.

  • that was the best days of my life when i saw it i was 10 years old this show was in saudi channel 2 i wish it came back

  • Did the show had an ending?

  • @WhatisallaboutAlfie : Probably not. Most 80s cartoons never did!

  • @SAMagic It did but towards the end budget caused them to splice together old episodes instead of produce new ones. So it was kinda meh... at least that what i heard on an old fansite. You will have to google it cause I saw this like 10 years ago

  • @RoninOmega7 Shame. I never watched this one, I just enjoy looking up ones I 'missed' as a kid in the 80s.

And at least some of the shows worked at an ending - Dungeons and Dragons had one prepared (Look it up) as did Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors, though both were more like plot resolution, I'm sure if pushed then they would have found a way to continue.

  • @SAMagic If I had the money and resources I'd do it myself for this and Wheeled Warriors.

  • I was wrong it lasted 65 episodes but after reading the wikipieda article of this show, I'll have to rethink my opinion of this show due to this shows dark story and those repsonsible for Exo Squad worked on this show as well those responsible for Patlabor and Kunio Okwara work in the mecha designs as well as having the voice actors from Transformers and GI Joe.

  • I only remember seeing one episode of this show and that was it; I can safely assume this had the standard shelf life of most animated shows during the 80s of 13 episodes before being canned.

  • 00:03 "Get over here!"

  • WOW!!! I did not think ANYONE would remember this show!

  • @princedargon prince, never ever doubt the power of nerds.

  • Man! What a classic. Many cartoons today have such crappy intro music.

  • Love the laser sounds!

  • I loved this as a kid, their toys were the shit!

  • Haha I can so imagine Kenny Loggins singing this intro.

  • I never watched this once as a kid but i swear a couple of years back I saw this and had it on loop. Loved it lol.

  • one of the best for me, especially the song, amazing

  • @AIB48 That is right.

  • i watched ALOT of tv in the 80's and i dont remember this at all

  • Surrender or pay the consequences!

  • Man everything was rocking back then.

  • Surrender! Or pay the consequences! *BADASS FUCKING SOLO*

  • Man what is wrong with that kid's eyes at 22 seconds? LOL

  • @Siyanko He is infected. Anyone in the spiral zone around the Earth, was infected. They turned into a zombie. However, if I recall, if they were able to take some one out of the infected area, they turn back to normal.

  • @drewstar412 oh wow... that sucks. Yeah I just checked top 80's theme songs and i thought this one was catchy. I have no actual idea about the show and it's content.

  • Sweet

  • Epic song

  • lol i dig the intro guitar lick but then it just falls flat on its ass xD

  • Kids version of Stalker

  • great

  • Looking back, this seemed kinda dark for a kids show.

  • An evil Mexican with some ham on his face is menacing the world.

Man, the '80s were the shit.

  • the song is so gay though

  • OMG! OMG! This intro track went hard.........

  • Why can't all intros be like this?

  • Can't believe I still remember the intro word for word, good tunes always stay with you,

  • I will never grow tire of hearing this intro! I'd watched this series when I was a kid, and I'd thought it kicked ass! If they put this series out on DVD, I'll buy it ASAP! Great animation, great characters, great story! Love it! :)

  • @JuPMod You can buy the entire series on DVD through the Spiral Zone website.

  • @superjon89 You can? I tried looking and all I saw was 'sold out' all over everything. :/

  • @TheMikko1984 It was a few months ago when I last visited that site so they may have sold out. Sorry if my post was out of date. I'm sure you can still find the show on ioffer or ebay if you look for it.

  • @superjon89 Nope. They sold out.

  • Xavirobat> The bad guys are terrorists called Black Widows. Their leader, Overlord, discovers a chemical cloud that turns people into mindless slaves that he learns to control. He has his teammates mutated to be immune to the chemicals (which is why they have red blotches on their skin). They successfully take over half the world, and the infected areas when viewed from space form an interconnected spiral path, called the "Spiral Zone".

  • SURRENDER- OR PAY THE CONSEQUENCES!

  • I missed this one growing up, can someone fill me in on the premise? I was busy watching MASK

  • @xaviorbat xavior, the concept of spiral zone is that an evil scientist has created a mist which slowly turns people into brainless zombies. Only five soldiers are innoculated against this and fight for whats left of humanity. When they save humans they innoculate them in future episodes,.

  • @blackshogun77 Sorry... Underrated show. The episodes I saw were good

  • i love those one wheel motorcycles they have in anime and action cartoons so cool what if they had thes in real life they woud be harder to ride than 2 wheel ones a good name for them woud be "monocycles"

  • Rascisam!!! Black guy has a dog like helmet!!!

  • I loved this cartoon!

  • This cartoon is more relevent today than it was, back in 1987.

This is also one of the realistic and grown-up of cartoons, considering the miliatary and terrorist settings.

I recommend this toon to anyone.

  • WOW...I remember watching this reeeeally early in the morning while getting ready for school.

  • @ylwapple45 Yes! It use to come on at 6 AM, I recall. Maybe even at 5:30 AM. Only reason I woke up early for school. LOL!

  • Is this on DVD? Because I want it!!!!

  • If you go to Spiral-zone . com they have it for sale on the website.

  • I was trying to remember the name of this cartoon.

The Guys who drove the Uni-wheel vehicles. Haha!

  • Ha ha! I loved this cartoon, the bad guys were so death metal! :}

  • Such a GI Joe ripoff

  • @jackofclubz

Are you fuckin kidding me!!?? This came out LONG before GI Joe came out, if anything GI Joe ripped off Spiral Zone!

  • @Magnacore Actually, G.I. Joe came out in 1983-1987. Spiral Zone was 1987.

  • who is the singer ?

  • this cartoon had great toys

  • I don't know what it is about the concept of this show but it's so engaging and successfully gives you a feeling of hopelessness.

I read it was on for 5 years which is phenominal especially for a cartoon.lol

  • @jravage77 I wish it were on for five years. I think there were only 65 eps, daily, except weekends, and it lasted only two years in it's time slot. One of my favs.

  • Fight The Zone!

  • I was so addicted to this damn Cartoon lol.. the pity is I really didn't realize it in that time.. now I miss it, I wouldn't mind to watch it again heh..

  • You know what the problem with a lot of old cartoons was? Most of them never had a real ending.

  • Come on, they always ended episodes with the "Laugh all together now" laugh!

  • That's because the network cancels the cartoon before it can get a good ending in.

  • The singer pwns Robert Plant. Best Rock Vocalist EVER!

  • I always loved this opening theme!

    Awesome!

  • Damn, all these old cartoons had such awesome intro themees.

  • I loved this cartoon when I was a kid. It was so ahead of its time. A cartoon with a post-apocalyptic theme like this would never get over with kids today.

  • @thatsmrdouglas2u Someone hasn't been watching Yu-Gi-Oh! 5Ds - well, I can't blame you.

  • @Synonymous52 What can Yu-Gi-Oh match that this cartoons doesnt have?

  • @thatsmrdouglas2u and it still is ahead of its time

  • one of the Best's

  • What network was this on???? Don't remember it at all!

  • i think fox ran it or was it abc i know damn well cbs didnt air it

  • Of course not CBS in the 1980's was jokenly called Central Broadcasting for Seniors.

  • Sounds like Trey Parker XD

  • He actually does! FFFUUUU--- thanks for ruining my childhood :D:D:D:D

  • i meant "were" my english are lame sorry

  • These where cartoons , sorry i mean animations. I remember sitting with my father and watching several 80's cartoons(it's a shorter word) together. now cartoons suck only Japanese anime remain. do you know many fathers that find modern cartoons intriguing enough to watch them with their kids?

  • um, this was Japanese in origin too.

  • wholly fudge, euphoric 80's music. so orgasmic

  • I agree, excellent vehicle design.

  • bike with one wheel, and man inside the whell, is a brilliant design!! i love this show long back.

  • Good quality now upload it without the fucking watermark

  • This cartoon used to creep me out as a kid for some reason.

  • Dude, this cartoon used to scare the shit out of me.

  • i loved this when i was a kid lol

  • Can someone write the complete lyrics please? I am struggling in the middle part....

  • Just from hearing:

Earth's most powerful soldiers, are earth's last chance to fight the spiral zone.

darkness, has fallen, on the victims of the zone. Our world, calls for courage, peace and freedom we must own.

We will fight, on our honor. What is right, we'll defend. Fight the zone, zone riders.

Earth's most powerful soldiers are earth's last chance against the Spiral Zone!!!!!

    I hope I helped you

  • That's great - thank you

  • @clinicalpsychologist im so gonna make gurren laggan amv using this song lol it will be so awsome caue it fits

  • LOL

  • Knowing how popular Transformers and other cartoons based off toys are being made into movies. Is it possible that there will be a Spiral Zone movie just like the two Transformers movies and the upcoming G.I. Joe, or whatever else is being made into a movie?

  • Awesome cartoon.....

  • In short, if those guys ever died in action Earth was flat out screwed XD god I miss this show.

  • High stakes often make for great entertainment.

  • The singer sounds like the singer from Interpol at times. And, oh, BTW, the villian was Freddy Mecury?

  • OMG!!!!!!!!!!

  • Omg been trying to figure out the name of this for years, I loved this as a kid, and could never find it online, knew it was Spiral something :D

  • Great Cartoon!

  • Great cartoon and kick butt theme. One of the best cartoon themes of 1980's

  • THE SPIRAL IS EVIL

  • i loved this cartoon it was one of the best

  • FYI, In 1988, DC Comics published a four-issue mini-series based on the Spiral Zone cartoon.

  • HOLY SHIT!!! O_0 *jaw drops* i forgot all about this cartoon! ^_^ it was a wierd cartoon to me as a kid but i still watched it

  • this show looks pretty awesome

    hilariously terrible theme song though

  • dude..it's an AWEOSOME fuckin' theme song....you dope...alng with the Galaxy Rangers and Double Dragons

  • Another of the rare darker toned gems. Liked it when WGN (Chicago) had this on a Sunday mourning block along with Brave Star.

  • yeah, but none of this compare with the one, trully, Batman:The Animated Series...LEGENDARY

  • Somebody nows if the singer is Trey Parker from South Park???

  • It be nice if somebody could post a few episodes of this show on YouTube.

  • I can hardly wait until this gem hits shelves in DVD format. (If the creators ever smarten up and make it so.)

  • does anyone have complete episodes ?

  • great it bring back alot of memory download more please

  • I don't remember the beginning sounding like the wailing guitar note to have just been plucked, how the other users here on this site that uploaded that same intro with the whole entire beginning seconds.

I think the TV station where I lived, cued the feed-tape a lil late just like how yours sounds. Or was that a pure mistake on your part? If it's uploaded just how you had taped it, then COOL!
