  • HAHAHAHA that story about the story was too funny. I would translate muggy to mushi atsui.

  • I feel really old know, WOW, I am 48. Just you wait Mea Sensei

  • Googled "define:muggy" and got this:

    mug·gy/ˈməgē/

    Adjective:

(of the weather) Unpleasantly warm and humid.

    Synonyms:

    sultry - stuffy

It also says that in my dictionary, along the same lines.

  • yeah muggy is a real word... i hope, ive always used it

  • Just an idea - I think it would look neater/more organized if you'd put the pics in big frames, like one for all family pics, one for Japan etc. Since you have big walls, it would look pretty to have a few big frames instead of hanging up the photos separately.

  • you could freeze the donuts and spread them out :)

  • Maybe next time when it's very humid you can use Aussie slang "It's a stinker" that will confuse them.

  • pumped up kicks in the background?! NOOOO

  • @goldenxninjaxchick oh thank goodness wasn't just me.

  • I saw a picture of a handsome man, a love interest in our Japanese adventure a..

  • seriously looked up 蒸し暑い in jim breen and got

    蒸し暑い(P); 蒸暑い 【むしあつい】 (adj-i) humid; sultry

Sultry? really? Yeah i will stick with muggy thanks!

  • Mae-Sensei is CWAAAZZZY!! LOL, that's what I think the English staff thinks. Is this the same school that won't let you handle cleaning supplies??

I think you use muggy instead of humid when it's hot as well as extremely humid. Like if it's 5c degrees and 95% humidity you'd just say "it's humid". But, if it's like 33c degrees and 90% humidity you'd say "Damn, it's muggy out there!"

  • maybe a japan flag?!

  • I knew, as soon as you said your coworker wanted to know what was so funny, that she wouldn't find it funny. You should put the doughnuts in your freezer to keep them from going bad - your tiny, tiny freezer.

There is a group of English teachers in Japan who are teaching fake words to their students in an effort to make them look stupid. Your coworkers now believe you are the leader of that group. But, just so you know muggy is a word. A truly English word from England.

  • I feel muggy today acctually and I am sober :O

  • 7000 donuts , and they last 4 days? That alot of donuts a day! =)

  • Maybe consider buying yourself a shelf that comes up to your waist (when u stand next to it)? to put books on and to maybe use the top most flat surface for makeup bag/kit etc. Throw in some japanese noovels? magazines? manga? AND DVDS! >.> :D

  • 9:14 Rebecca Black :)

  • Youre life makes mine look so much not-interesting...

  • Muggy- adj: (of the wether) unpleasantly warm or humid.

  • When you really drunk your hot you almost feel like it's too hot in places even humid. So with that in mind think about walking into a place with the same atmosphere? I GUESS it could be slang when comparing how hot it is or uncomfortable?

  • You should put some long table there in that big space so you can put more of your stuff there. Even a long piece of wood with some kind of stands at each end would be good.

  • I never hear the super drunk person context of "muggy," but I grew up use the word to describe the weather/atmosphere/you know. I won't be surprised if it came from slang, or is it still slang? I'm not sure. but I'd imagine it is in most dictionaries. psst btw I don't know if it's a big deal but, was that your last name on your sweater/jacket you were wearing? I was sort of relieved when you unwrapped the scarf which covered it. Just something I noticed.

    Thanks for the video!

  • I bet they would know the word funky.....

    just saying.

  • Maybe you can get another whiteboard or anime wall scrolls for the background. Cool you still have those sponges, the ones under the sumo calender.

  • Someone was a busy body!.. Looks nice...maybe a bookcase for some of you misc stuff

  • I don't think I've ever actually used the word muggy but I definitely knew when you said it that it meant humid so I've heard someone else use it before. :P Kind of like saying it's stuffy except muggy usually implies that it's also kind of moist.

  • Muggy is definitely a word.

  • I am from Canada and we use muggy here too. Try asking them how they would translate 蒸し暑い mushiatsui? Thats what I get for muggy.

  • looks like a great time for boston sports, and now the Pats are going to the superbowl! do you get to see it from japan?

  • second time I Iisten PUMPED UP KICKS..pretty addictive song

  • I'm from Nebraska and we use muggy to mean humid weather as well :)

  • Maybe you could get a bookcase (like even a wire rack one) for your kitchen? Its kinda funny, I was watching your videos a few days ago and I was like 'wow her house is kinda empty', cause we rarely see the rest of the house other then the red couch. Then the next video you were talking about decorating heheh ^-^ I like how you set up the pics!

  • canada here; muggy is a word. and yes it has to do with yucky humid weather

  • Towel on the wall. That's quite original.

  • Sugar coma much? I would have said please give these to the old age home from me. I am a diabetic so...One or three maybe, but that is all please. No, muggy is real English. I think that is a British slang word. Much of Japanese english is based on the British version not American.

  • These trees are for Shinto ritual. Shinto preast come over and pray to purify ground where the new building up.

We Japanese do this ritual when launch new things .(new railroad, new airplane new project etc....)

  • What a great sensei you are. I think you got everybody looking up muggy. Muggy is slang if you are referring to being intoxicated. In Bengali, Muggy means cheap hooker (prostitute). Well, that's what it says in the urban dictionary online.

  • I grew up in Florida and muggy is commonly used there too.

    From Miriam-Webster's online dictionary:

    Definition of MUGGY

: being warm, damp, and close

For English Learner's it also has this: unpleasantly warm and humid

  • I've heard the word muggy before. Living in Central Texas I rarely get to use it, but I think you used it properly.

I would be scared to teach english to esl students because I am from Texas. I don't have an accent really, but I do use some distinctly southern words. Y'all is my favorite example. I would confuse the heck out of some poor English teachers.

  • Muggy is a very New England word we say it in Maine too. :)

  • I'm at the Sano rest area of the free way, and just had Sano ramen. Now, I'm leaving for Mibu, Tochigi. Bye!

  • It doesn't look empty anymore. :D I remember the first tour of your apartment. :D

Maybe you should buy a tripod for your camera? :o

  • I've never heard muggy either.

  • I think ur apartment looks nice. But that table and on the floor was kinda messy. XD

I just noticed that our laptops aren't EXACTLY the same! The mouse pad buttons look a bit different, like your laptop is shorter vertically.

  • Have u ever had a donut? Have u ever had a donut... in Japan? (ans: No, I had 7000)

  • Now you've totally gotta make up words just to mess with them lol.

  • What are you listening to?

  • You should totaly makeup some fake english words for the other teachers to confuse them

  • Muggy - free dictionary says its probably from Middle English "mugen", to drizzle; or Old Norse (Scandinavian) "mugga", a drizzle.

  • 3:00 am Here in San Antonio, Texas.

  • the kotasu machine how much did cost you.

  • Good morning Meaphe... looks nice. //0-0\\
