Looks like you certainly caught the slow 980 bus from Miyun. I got caught out too myself. There are different speed services and two slightly different routes they take.

Oh, the driver was just being dumb. There are two 980 services, the Jing Mi Hwy. service and the other one that takes the direct route to HuaiRou. This one was supposed to take 45 minutes to Niulanshan but took forever since he drove at 30km/h... On a nearly empty road.

At least the Taxis in Qingdao honk. Here in Taiwan they just PLOW through. You know...pull out without checking mirrors, change into lanes that already have a vehicle occupying it...run red lights. Pretty standard. You need ESP to drive in Taiwan and a whole lot of luck.

QD is my hometown. It's very different from other Chinese cities.

Yeah, it has a very very nice feel to it, I think it's the sea. The air is very clean and it is a fun city to walk around.

Oh, that's how they drive here. You pretty much just drive, middle of the lane, two lanes, left side, right side, swerving - doesn't matter, as long as you honk at everyone and everything, you are good.

Well, he did that just to acknowledge those people who are on the road of his presence. As you can see in the clip, people might run over the road anytime...

the other dude is right... you DID miss all the nice part also... yes the old European style along the see has its HUGE charm... but the other "modernized" side of town has also a BEAUTIFUL seaside. nice vid... reminds me of my time in Qingdao... :~(

Meh... Qingdao's charm lies with the seaside and the old architecture. The highrisers are not that special. :-)
