  • He was raped and beaten and had the courage to report it even tho it meant facing and reliving his worst fears . That's what made him brave and worth admiring!!! Next "what he did for the LGBT community" this was a hate crime that encouraged enough publication that the sentences for hate crimes was raised; still not harsh enough if you ask me but only we as a community can change that and btw I'm not LGBorT I'm a straight married mother of 3

  • I totally agree with you it it disrespectful to refer to any person in any other way than they choose, it's like calling a white person a redneck just b/c they're white or a African American the n word just b/c they're black profiling goes on in every race in every religion in sexual preference and in mentality.Brandon dealt with sexual identity crisis the most terrifying event of the day was when he had to look in the mirror can you imagine how scary it was to face people.

  • i cant believe ur getting hate for this.people are so judging..but im here all the way mate.

  • fuck the l word. I am doing a report on him for an english class, They can go fuck them selves, This pisses me off, And a day after the 18 year annavery of his death, That makes me wanna punch something and im a passafist.

  • Fuck them Rip brandon

  • kade512... im very proud of you for making the videos you do. i just watched boys dont cry and watched the 6 part documentary on Brandon Teena. What he had to go through is terrible. John and Tom are everything that is wrong in this world. I believe that this isnt something you can just choose or shut off whenever you want. A person is born this way. it is who they are, just because the outside doesnt match the inside is no reason to judge. i am a straight woman and i am very proud of.

  • heck watch the movie again; when she gets arrested for all the fraud and she says "that teena chick must be bad" duh, and she had to leave the town she was in because of all the girls she was tricking...and the fraud... and how she lied about being a hermaphrodite??? she was a liar... so if you follow her foot steps then you must want to be a lieing, stealing fraud... i can't even express how blind you are...

  • teena, didn't fight for anything in her life, she stole people's checks and stole other people's money and she tricked girls into dating her; she stole one of her girlfriends credit cards and brought her an engagement ring with it... so i don't know what you are talking about "what she FOUGHT for" she was just partying all the time... you're crazy... and not very attentive... watch the documentary...

  • @newfoundjoy Mate, Brandon was fighting his whole life to be himself. Yes, he may not have been a law abiding citizen. That aspect of him I wouldn't want to follow. He is transgendered, and that's what kade512 is talking about. Noone accepted him for who he was, a man. That's why he left. Sure , he could have dealt with it better, and told his sexual partners, but people still have no right to call him a freak, rape and then kill him.

  • @badassukeS i agree w/ you that no one should be treated that way, raped & killed etc. but don't you think he brought it on himself by the life that he lived? I wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy but the lives we live lead us in certain directions; we get what we give. His life caught up to him. He's a good example of what not to do in life. If he fought to be himself you must mean the whole scope of the person, the stealing & lieing & the tricking too. he's no role model.

  • @newfoundjoy He fought to be perceived as male in society. He was true to himself, no matter what others said to him. That's worth admiring. Other aspects of him, maybe not so much, but everyone has faults.

  • @badassukeS if he really 'fought' to be perceived as a male then he wouldn't have had to trick anyone. The 'tricking' people thing cancels out the 'fighting for a cause' thing. if he was up front w/ the girls he was trying to date then that would be different but he wasn't, have you seen the documentary on him? his exs say they didn't know & then when rumors would come out he would still lie & for the most part his exs were always confused about it. if that's what you admire then ok

  • @badassukeS that's not really being true to oneself. If he were being true to himself he would have admitted he was a girl who wanted to be a boy. That's more true than what he did. Pretend & portray himself as a boy, he didn't even know or want a sex change opp. I think he was more confused than anything, as i've read, he was molested & he didn't have a father, maybe that's why he wanted to identify w/ men.

  • @badassukeS it's all in how you look at it, to me it isn't reasonable or admirable to lie in order to get something that i want (in this case a girlfriend). But if it's reasonable and admirable in your eyes to lie to acheive something then this is where we disagree. although you keep saying that some of the stuff he did was wrong, you're logic still doesn't add up. He could have dressed as a boy & never tricked a girl into dating him, that would be like fighting for who he is/ better

  • @newfoundjoy yes, I agree with you, lying isn't reasonable. I don't know how else to explain it. Brandon was just being who he was. That's all. He went about it the wrong way, that I understand. But tell everyone around you about your genitals, and medical condition ( as he describes it as a birth defect) is very daunting, and not necessary.Especially when you pass. Do you go around telling people what's in your pants?. He should've told them , but I understand why he didn't.

  • @badassukeS he didn't have a birth defect, it was all part of his lies, If he had a genital birth defect, do you think those guys would have raped him? they probably would have just strung him up & killed him as a freak, remember the story, he was examined at the girl's house & then taken out to be raped & then the cops interviewed all three, the victim, & the attackers, there was no birth defect; plus the rape exam? Think about it.

  • @badassukeS he was being himself, he was a liar, that's what liars do, they lie... and that's one of the parts of his personality.

  • @badassukeS also don't forget the part in the movie when you see him getting dressed and putting on a tampon, the director didn't put that in there for fun, the real story is very clear, brandon was a full girl, the director's goal was to make the viewers sympathizes with brandon. and it worked. the director purposely ligthened the criminal aspects of his life, most of it is only said in passing. etc. (i'm a terrible speller unless i write stuff on word first)

  • @newfoundjoy mate, I know what you're saying, but in this case, I'm going to have to disagree with you. I'm not saying I'm right and you're wrong, but that there are different sides to the story. Go and read some more about transgender people. To us, it is a birth defect. It may look normal to you, but to us, it isn't.

  • @badassukeS what do u mean? is it like an anerorexic who is thin & sees herself fat? Brandon had normal genital but he viewed it as abnormal, because now your changing the course of your thought, b4 u were specifically talking about genitals, now u r talking about something mental? u started the converstaion w/ me, i'm making solid points, based on his reality, i grew up identifing as a male 2. What's your point, my point is that a liar is a liar, & all liars deny reality, & logic.

  • @badassukeS i am saying that u r wrong. u started out by saying that he was 'fighting' his whole life to be himself, then u mean a liar, because that's what he fought 4 & that's what he was. His cause was 2 trick people 2 get what he wanted, his cause wasn't 2 help transgendered ppl, you're blind & an idoit if u choose 2 lie 2 yourself. simple. the facts have been laid out & u want 2 stick your head in the sand & pretend u don't see them, u r a liar 2, that's why u defend your own.

  • Transgender ppl are NOT a freak show !

U shud be proud of urself

    u made us proud

am not a transgender but I respect ppl 4 who they are

I loooooooved Brandon Teena God rests his soul

  • I hear this movie being labled as a lesbian movie alll the time. And sometimes by lgb community. It makes me furious. The L word can be ignorant as hell...why i sold my dvds. Anyway, totally agree with this video.

  • I agree. The L word got so many things fucked up...like Max sleeping with a man and getting pregnant!!!!!!! wtf??

  • i dont think they meant Brandon Teena was a lesbian...however, Hilary Swank was playing a FTM role but she herself isn't trans so is a touchy subject but I do think that they shouldn't've brought up her role.

  • Thank you so much for uploading this video. L Word was successful, but not only about Max episodes I found some disrespectful and less knowledge scripts, too. Entertainments on TVs are very much effective to ppl, so I would like to say the same thing you talked about in this vid.

  • wow i didnt even catch that.iam stupid.the l word should apoligies to.thanks for telling us i would of never found out.

  • sooooo do u have ne pics of u as a girl??? i wanna c tha transformation.

  • Comment removed

  • i doubt the l word ment to disrespect brandon in anyway dude ur way to emotional

  • Congrats for being so brave to stand up for yourself and to dismiss the ignorance. I can't imagine all the crap you have to deal with! You are strong person.

  • Great Video!! Thanks for the upload!

  • Wow... I watched that movie lastnight and I balled my eyes out like a little kid..

I'm a lesbian and I totally understood that movie to the like 100th percentile.

  • Your transgender?sorry this is my first time watching your videos.

but your a really cute ;)

  • I agree with you! I enjoy the L-word, mostly because mainstream lesbian TV is non-existant. However, it does a horrible job depicting what lesbian life is really like. I also agree that Max is a bad example of a trangender women. I can't say I know a lot of WTM or MTW but the way that the show sort of treats him in the show kinda encourages ignorance. I am a lesbian, but Boys Don't Cry and Brandon Teena is a fantastic movie for the LBGT community, and I think it's crap what the Lword said.

  • If thats how females are going to act. If thats how females get respect. Then no one is going to do NOTHING with you AT ALL. If this is what its all about. Why go through all this trouble? If you spent thousands of dollars you would do it again. If you got rid of your breasts, you would grow them again. If you transitioned, you would do it again. Once a transgender, always a transgender. Once a liberal, always a liberal.

  • @Clobberk112 you make absolutely NO SENSE what so ever. no one is female in this situation, not quite sure why you still think so. and please, go educate youself on chest surgery. just like limbs- they don't grow back. trans people post videos on here as an online community support for each other. other people happen to stumble across and are either hateful or accepting. people like you are just people we have to put up with to help each other.

  • @kade512 agreed

  • @Clobberk112 and if someone is always a transgender person then they wouldn't be changing BACK they would be staying in their choosen gender. and last i checked a liberal doesn't have to stay a liberal forever. really not sure where you're trying to go with this whole battle. and please stop watching, i would absolutely hate for you to feel obligated with my life.

  • @kade512 Thats just it, NONE of the Ftms no where your going with what your doing. You know why? Because your not getting what your expecting.

  • @Clobberk112 REALLY?? who are you to judge where transpeople are going?? I've know exactly where i'm going and am going exactly where i always wanted to go. i'm sorry you're jealous with the fact thats transpeople know SO MUCH about who they are and want they want and that you don't. And just so you know i'm getting exactly what i expected.

  • @Clobberk112 if i wanted privacy would I post these videos? they aren't for you to be looking at anyway. personally i think they way you act is trashy but if you really think i'm trash and you don't, or anyone else doesn't care about this person, why the hell are you sitting there watching my video? and why would you come by and "bless my page"? You're ignorant and obviously need to be educated. I feel sorry for you. It's people like you that make the world go down-hill.

  • @kade512 Because you have the opportunity. You put the videos out there because you want people to care but your clever at making it seem like thats not the case. Your not a man if you dont get upset about what I get upset about. Im sick if you transgenders or LGBTQ obligating us to deal with your frustrations. Flipping the mindset of a male then regurgitate the fact that being liberal is right.

  • @Clobberk112 No one wants to hear your opinions on the matter since you have no idea what so ever about transgender people, you sit their and make personal assumptions and bigoted comments with no education what so ever, If your so obsessed with the subject of transgender why don't you go and research it and stop being a troll. People will not listen to you if you go around posting your personal misguided opinions as if it is factual. How sad you feel the need to do this.

  • @Clobberk112 Also, just in case you MIGHT be able to understand this, no Transgender person is running from anything or anyone. We are running TO. To something thats always been.

  • What's ridiculous is they don't call people who play murderers in movies, murderers in real life. This always happens, every time an actor portrays a member of the LGBT community. But yeah, that was really messed up what they said about Hilary Swank. I mean she did an incredible job in the movie. I personally was more touched by the documentary of Brandon Teena.

  • @Clobberk112

Worry about your own life and stop judging others. This world would be sooooooooooooooo much better if people would just do that.

  • No one cares about this person. If thats not a female who happens to be a lesbian then I must be blind or something. Your Getting mad because they called her a lesbian when CLEARLY thats a lesbian, IM NOT BLIND!!!! I just laugh at the transgender community. How you run from the lesbina lifestyle to be a man, thats funny. Its about looking out for yourself. If you have to do all that to get respect then YOUR TRASH!!!!!

  • @Clobberk112 You really shouldn't talk about things you know nothing about, it gives the impression that you are in fact an idiot. Perhaps you should read up on how babies are made and see exactly how males and females come to be. Then you can see that it's not a black and white process! Also tell me how a three year old says they are the opposite of their assigned gender? Tell me why a three year old tried to cut off his penis and claimed to be a girl? Was the three year old gay?

  • @PandaValentine i was about to post a similar response to that person, who has no idea about what they are talking about but feel obligated to spread they bigoted opinion, ...your spot on :)

  • This is just an insult to Brandon Teena who was MURDERED for being trans. For them to go off and misrepresent him as a lesbian is insulting. I wouldn't misrepresent Matthew Shepard as a transsexual because I know he was gay so why are they misrepresenting a transguy as a lesbian? Grrrr!

  • Came by to bless the page. Stay Healthy

  • I think Kate Moannig is a great person, but I am not so much into the L Word show. But if I were into it and I heard one of the actors speak insultingly about an important person or figure in history like Brandon Teena, I would stop watching it. Transgenderism is always miscontrued. I'm glad to see people like you promoting facts out there. Keep up the work man!

  • I came across this late in the game, but I could not agree more with the sentiment for Brandon Teena and also Max's character and how I feel the L word really dropped the ball on a very intricate and very important subject. That alone made me lose respect for the writers on the show. Thank you for sharing your experience as well.

  • I know, I caught it when I watched that episode too. The way they portray Max in general just pissed me off. I really wasn't expecting that especially from a gay-friendly show. I have your back man.

  • You said it yourself, you only watched a few episodes of the L word, and therfore aren't familiar with the characters so I get why you might interpret it as "hugely disrespectful" but it's a little something called characterisation. Niki's supposed to be the "dumb blonde" she's supposed to be inapropriate, ignorant, misinformed, and talk shit. If your going to attack TV for transphobia look at genuine disrespect from the wider industry, The L word has served the lgbT (including u) community well

  • @Zarfoxity ur right,i to dont think they were insulting or disrespectful

  • @Zarfoxity you are so right.. this was exactly what i wanted to say!

  • Did you watch the dvd with commentary of the person who made the movie ? you know, Boys don't cry. Well, I felt a bit like crying while she explained how Brandon was sort of a mask, and behind it there was this 21 years old girl, who was frightened and suffering and whatsoever, and the love affaire was about Lana getting to accept Teena behind Brandon, and so on. I was appalled about how can someone make such an excellent movie by understanding things this way.

  • "Hello you tubers"... lol

  • Im not transsexual but I understand that Brandon Teena felt 100% as a boy like I feel like a girl. He just felt it in the wrong body that he was born with. And it annoys me how his mom called him a she, her, teena, in the documentary thats been made. Also the other ppls who still calls him she. As I keep saying/writing to ppl, the least we can do is to remember him as that boy he was.

  • Comment removed

  • ok, so this guy is a fag. Got it!!

  • @ninjazoner that was a really stupid comment. Got it?

  • @MusicElskerLove You sound like a valley girl and dont blame on your cold. And clean ur room up.

  • @ninjazoner I have no idea what youre talking about. Youre just typing shit on purpose. Why dont you watch this video and try to understand, instead of commenting stupid comments

  • @ninjazoner lmao

  • I am fed up telling ppl and Now , the ppl who still call Brandon Teena , a girl , a lesbian or referring him as 'her' .........fck off ! go to hell ! HE WAS 'HE' . HE WAS A TRANSGENDER WHO was ALREADY A MAN 'PSYCHOLOGICALLY'.WANTED TO BECOME A 'MAN' PHYSICALLY . respect his feelings by referring him as 'him ' , 'transgender'. and remember, his convicts, bloody illiterates are still fuckin alive. they did it all because they were jealous. one of them had crush on Lana Tisdel.

  • That's a really good point. The L Word has really not been trans-friendly. I also think it's important to discuss media and how it affects us rather than accepting it.

  • Thanks for caring dude. Brandon Teena has also been a huge influence on my life and understanding what I'm going through as a Transman but to also be respectful enough to even know that he was a guy and not a lesbian and that's what he was killed over when bringing up his name on a TV program. Misinformation and education leads to prejudice and stereotypes, especially when being viewed by so many of the public through Television. It's their job to get the facts before they state them in a speech

  • Listen people leave this person alone, I've heard when these kind of people are in horomone treatment they r sorta moody and pyscho...my best friend is trans she goes thru these wacky emo moments like the person in the video lol seriously she is a little over reaccting over the L word that show is great and I understand fully about Brandon Teena lol it is hella tripping lol

  • Comment removed

  • @spiroh24 I used to be picked on by kids like you in elementary school. If you have the audacity to ask someone such a personal question, then maybe you should've watched the video dumbass. and btw, I kicked the last kids ass for asking me that.

  • wow you are truely fucking sad... its a tv show it was a line you really need to get off your high horse and deal with the fact that not everything on tv is gonna be realistic and fictional.

  • ok hun here is what i think about what you are saying....i understand your upset but really its not something to be pissed off over iam with a hermaphrodite and she is called a boy all the time and a lady . She is still a lesbian and a man and she dont get that upset like you do because she understands right now its hard for others to understand the difference ......be an educator not a complainer \

  • Hell yah l totally agree because they protray transgender people from a very femanist view......

  • I remember this episode. It was not cool. I do not get the Transphobia in the gay community is fucked up. Period.

  • Serioulsy your mad about max? Just because they way they protraid that character and his story is not exactly like yours does not mean that other trans gender people can't relate to it. Get off your fuckin high horse.

  • @Chantel2521 maybe you should watch the video? This video has nothing to do with being mad at Max. And I would never judge the way one Trans person lives their life over another. Maybe before you go critiscising someone should make sure someone is actually saying what you think they are saying.

  • i totally agree.

  • yea, i watch the L word to and u need to also relize Nikki is an idiot in The L Word, why would u listien to the shit Nikki says she so stupid!?

  • thank you for postting take caer ....

  • i didn't like the character of Max. *yawn* this video is great. i love Boys Don't Cry. i'm not trans but i can side with you.

  • the teena brandon story woz tragic, however the l word is fictional. max's woz just one story, if transgenders don't class themselves as lesbians then why the hell are they on the l word? get a grip!! u think too much!!

  • in what single minded reality does the prescence of a body part have more weight than the human soul?

  • Brandon teena was a Trans man. He was NOT a fucking lesbien!!! Fuck you all if you call him a lesbien!!

Please recieve some training on Trans issues if you do think Brandon is a she and a lesbien!

  • @BlacktinoGarfuna123, my dear friend. Let me please help you out of your misery before you injure yourself and other people with your uneducated opinions. I am a student doing my Masters on gender studies. SEX is science (do I have a vagina or not?). GENDER is psychological and emotional (what do I identify as?). Get your facts straight before making ignorant remarks. Thanks.

  • In the movie Boys Don't Cry, Brandon Teena is portrayed as a lesbian following his being outted as a physical woman. So technically, in that movie, Hilary Swank did play a lesbian. But in real life, no, Brandon Teena was not a lesbian.

  • @wayoverdanger Brandon is not portrayed as a lesbian in BOYS DON'T CRY. At the beginning his friend calls him a dyke and he says, "I'm not a dyke." And then through the rest of the movie he's portrayed as a transgendered man.

  • @musicaltheatergeek79 The second time that Brandon and Lana are shown having sex, after Lana finds out that Brandon is female, and when they have sex Lana states that she may not "know how to do this," even though she and Brandon have already had sex as a man and a woman. So yeah, unfortunately, the woman who made this movie decided to abandon portraying Brandon as the transgendered man he was by the end of the film.

  • RIP Brandon Teena

    <3

  • The l word did a horrible job on half the subjects they tried to touch on, even bisexuality. Alice identified as bisexual, but dated what... one guy throughout the show... and the guy identified as a lesbian! Her character was completely a lesbian that they just decided to call bisexual so they could say they had a bisexual character and queer as folk didn't.

  • So tuck it up and run home to momma you little bitch!

  • @ borpee2 if one day because of a tragic disfiguring accident you happen to wake up and find your "manhood" gone, would that put you in the "It" catagory? Wake up my friend...anatomy does not the man make. Brandon deserved the right to love and live HIS life in whatever way HE wanted. In defense of your clearly uneducated comment, there is none...your whole exsistance revolves around what you consider to be the definition of manhood...your teeny tiny willy.

  • @borpee2 You're above comment makes you "laughably" pathetic. As far as my education goes I don't remember once being taught that "it" is an appropriate pronoun to use for any human being. Also, I feel sorry for you if you really think having/not having a penis is the only thing that makes someone male/not male. Hopefully one day you will be blessed with the ability to open your mind and actually see life outside of your bloated head.

  • @borpee2

you obviously are not transgender so please do not say what we do and don't deserve to be called

  • @borpee2 Please recieve some training on Trans issues.

  • @borpee2 WOW!! You are so ignorant!!

Please recieve some training on Trans issues.

  • So a veteran who is an amputee doesnt deserve to be called a man....bc he wouldnt actually have the genitalia either. is a post op transgender more validated than a pre op? in reality hormonal transfers in utero show that transgendered people actually do have discrepancies between their brain and their body. biologically their brains are one sex and their bodies are another. this is biology, it is fact. it is not want.

  • @borpee2 so many thing wrong with that comment, I don't know were to start. By your definition if a cisgender male loses their genitalia in some accident they cease to be male. You think people are "retarded" (which if a really ableist adjective I might add) because they fail to think in binaries like you do?

  • @borpee2 Wow. You're a prejudice, uneducated pig...

  • @borpee2 dumb ass? you're the one writing comments that are so stupid that they can't even be viewed because of negative votes lol.

  • @borpee2 They are not men. Buy hey, who cares about these people man. They can never be us. They will never have baby pictures. They had to use testosterone to be like that. They had to use the image of a man to gain respect. They can NEVER be us man just a cheap imitation. Dont sweat it man.

  • thats a fucking piss take. i've just been researching loads more stuff on Brandon. I watched Boy's Don't Cry a few years ago and then bought it coz its a great film but yeah i agree. alot of sites refer to him as "she" and "her" and teena. and as a lesbian. i think its disgraceful. people just dont get it.

  • ok first of all,the l word was a good show, stupid but funny, until they put Moira aka Max in this whole lesbian stories...first of all,Daniela can't act to save her life and second the whole thing was just shown in a very bad light,i couldn't believe myself how little the writers actually know about trans community and their approach was just ignorant.they have shown trans people as freaks.l word stands mostly for lesbians so they should have stick only to this issue.just my opinion:)

  • your first two lines contradict themselves. and they are both false. Brandon Teena (not the other way around, show him some respect) was a transgender man NOT a woman. Why don't you actually watch the video before you post a comment like that. and yes, RIP BRANDON Teena.

  • @kade512

sorry i just always heard it was the other way around that she was a girl who wanted to be a guy,

didn't mean any disrespect or anything,

    just saying what i heard

  • you mean he was,right?

he didn't wanted to be a guy,he was a guy

  • @thomasbaron06 RIP Brandon. You cute TRANSBOY.

  • @thomasbaron06 yeah you silly prat.

  • @3DeepCuts i stand by what i've said already

  • @thomasbaron06 and thats what makes you a ignorant tit. Brandon was a trans guy and idiots like you calling him a dyke is just plain disrespectful. educate yourself

  • @3DeepCuts if he/she's a guy then why the hell was he/she played by fuckin' girl in the movie and made out to be a girl who wanted to be a guy?

they referred to people who knew her as they researched the role,

and everyone who knew him/her personally referred to him/her as teena brandon

  • I love the l word, but the writers have been extremely insensitive to the trans community. Its really sad that a show so popular in the glbt community would be so disrespectful and ignorant to trans issues.

  • i understand why you're angry.

it's bullshit, the l-word should've been more respectful.

but on a lighter note, you're amazingly cute. :P

  • haha thank you =)

  • Being a young trans male, it really has pissed me off tbh. I happen to think Brandon Teena was a beautiful Role for our community, and his story means alot to me. he was unable to be who he truly was and to be killed for that, was one of the worst cases.

  • @RowannnMilo321 I saw the movie, I truly believe that teena Brandon would be alive today...if the mother of Lana...didnt tell John where teena was staying at candace place.

  • @n6069 i see that point of view. i think for someone being such a role model for the trans community the l word really have annoyed alot of people with that comment.

  • what is even more shocking the name written on his grave stone is teena brandon not Brandon Teena.

  • I personaly am a trans male as well....... Brandon Teena was esencial to make me the person I am today in the strength I have about it and how I deal with the discrimination if some one is going to try to portray trans they should at least look into what it is befor hand

  • I am bisexual and I totaly understand about your frustration makes me angry to!!!

  • I agree with you!!!

    Out of order!

    I cried so much!

    It is an educational movie

  • Considering that there was a transguy on a show why would they even say that?

It's bad enough that I hate being called a lesbian, and Im not even a big fan of Brandon Teena, but that is just so screwed up.

  • wow that is fucked...I always hated the way they portrayed max. Being a trans woman who loves and dated a trans male that realy pisses me off. I am glad the show is done and over, Brandon Teena was a rue man just like every other trans man. The L word is a god awful portayel of the transgendered community.

  • *True ((gah to early for spelling but I felt I had to reply))

  • being transgender is not dependent upon surgery. Brandon was a male...a straight male

  • hey isn't nikki this stupid starlet? maybe they just wanted to show how stupid and ignorant she was? if however they did not mean that then you are really right, the writers really fucked that up....

  • tanks for the clip. could you please let us know it which chapter the l-word did this comment?

I really can't belive they did that.

  • i'm not for sure exactly what episode number hey did that in but it was last season and somewhere around the 3rd or 4th epidsod before the last of the season

  • thanks for the answer and thanks for your video.

it´s such a shame they did that.

  • RIP Brandon and Matt. I cannot belive they did that

  • also, boy's don't cry was one of the few films i have ever cried watching. i think everyone needs to see it.

  • agreed!! its a very educational movie for those not quite sure of the trans life.

  • are you really going and posting comments like this under my video about someone else saying the same. if you watched the video you might gather up the slightest idea that i don't share your same feelings so don't paste your hate on my profile. if you didn't watch the video then you have no right posting at all. and Brandon was a man (gender does out weigh sex FYI) and liked women so just to let you know, He was not gay.

  • slow your fucking role listen she was not gay she was born a girl but she was meant to be a guy soo she didnt have the money to become a guy soo therefore she was not gay she was a transgender that didnt have a chance to become one fully so stop hating hater

  • iam not trans myself, iam a lesbian but i completly agree wit u. i cant believe that they would defile brandon's name like that for weak comedic purposes.

  • i loved boys dont cry, my ex girlfriend is transgendered and planning her transition & i love the L word. I actually didn't catch on to that in the convo between nikki and dylan, but i take it as an example of Nikki's stupidity and vapidness. The show has been criticized for only portraying an unrealistic view of lesbians. It is television, and pretty much anything you watch is a stereotype or not close to the truth.

    Anyways, that's my rant.

  • I stumbled upon your video after watching the Brandon Teena story and I'm really glad I did. Thank you for educating those of us who are ignorant regarding the subject matter you discussed in this video. I'll be looking for more from you. I wish you good health now and in the future.

Rest in Peace Brandon Teena & Matthew Shepard.

  • what episode was it?

    Rest in Peace Brandon Teena

  • not completely sure but it was this past season (one that recently finished) and i'm thinking the 3rd or 4th to the last

  • I get really annoyed too, we don't get enough recognition in the straight or even in the LGB community. When you go into a queer bookshop, they usually label the DVDs etc into categories, and too often 'boys don't cry' is labelled as a lesbian themed film- once I told the guy at the till (very politely) that it doesn't belong in that section and he basically ignored what I was trying to tell him. I still have hope that things will get better though, we've come this far.......

  • boys don't cry is education but it leaves out the death of the black guy who just happened to also be there, thats been annoying me lately. anyway, yh you're right, they shouldn't have said that in the l world. However, max is just a character, maybe he doesn't represent the whole trans community, but he's just representing that fictional character. the l world doesn't represent all lesbians or anything like that either, so, don't bother getting too annoyed

  • oh fuck! that so bad!... i agree with you. thanks!

  • what season and episode was it?

  • hear hear. i remember watching that episode and being utterly enraged. absolutely ridiculous. how disrespectful can that show be? i hope you sent that letter. good riddance.

  • i am a big fan of the l word but i do agree with u that they made transgender people look bad!! max's character didnt really represent the trans community, and the brandon teena comment was ridiculous so i see why ur pissed off!!! by the way u look really good!

  • well do u know the same person who wrote the and directed Boys Dont's Cry is the same person who did the L Word.. but yea i agree with u.. Brandon did fight for alot even tho he never actually went through the whole transition... i love that movie.. i mean im just a lezbian.. but i know what u mean.. and Max is a Hot Mess.. my Lady got me watchin dat show..

  • I remember when Brandon was killed. His death is one of the main reasons it took me so many years to start my transition. I was 23 when Brandon died, I started my transition at 37. I have only seen a few episodes of L word. Max is a joke, and the way they handle transgender characters is an insult. I refuse to watch that show based on those factors. If no one watches it, they cancel it. Since it's obvious they aren't going to correct the way the writers portray transpeople.

  • Hey, I just stumbled upon your channel. I totally agree with everything you`re saying. I couldn`t believe they did that. Later I was wondering if it was just supposed to be showing her character`s ignorance but even if that was the case, her character should have been corrected and set straight be another character. Gah. I can`t believe all the Max crap too....too much to rant about.

  • Me and my bf were watching this the other day, and we got so pissed. I am a gay male and my bf is a gay trans man. Yeah sexual preference is not the same thing as gender identity. One would thing that a show made for and by the LGBT community would get at least that right.

  • i am not trans, but after watching many trans related videos on youtube and becoming slightly more educated on how mainly ftms feel and think, i would also be pissed with it (would because i didn't watch that episode). on a movie channel in the uk, on the information part for 'boys don't cry', it also referred to brandon teena as a lesbian and 'coming to terms with her sexuality' which is wrong and i thought was arrogant.

  • oh and one last thing.. ))

    ur so cute)))
