  • the silencer went through 2 games without saying a word.

  • This reminds me of the peek of gaming, back in the days of Mech Warrior 2, when shareware was the best thing since sliced bread.

  • Ah, the nostalgia :')

  • Vittek went on to become Master Chief in Halo, and as a result the humans could never win....

  • Forgot that robot looked like ED-209 lol

  • shuuuuuuuuut up, Vintek

  • Crusader: No Remorse, Crusader: No Regret, and Crusader: No Refunds!

  • YOU CAN GET THIS GAME RIGHT NOW FOR 6 BUCKS DRM FREE FROM GOG.COM!

  • If you want to play this game on Windows, head over to gog.com. They will be releasing this game sometime this month, price will be $5.99. Gog.com sells older games that are compatible with Windows. Everything is legit as the company gets the license to sells these games from the company that owns them.

  • We--I--need a REMAKE!!!

  • hey guys I uploaded the Total Mayhem Soundtrack onto youtube!

  • Comment removed

  • This was one of my favorite PC games as a kid. Man do I miss PC gaming in the mid to late 90s. This game had style, action packed gameplay, an incredible soundtrack, priceless cut scenes, an engaging story and amazing artwork.

  • Does anyone know in which program they did the animations for the game?

By the way, great game even greater soundtrack :)

  • This game has higher quality substance than most of the shit today...too bad this was only for DOS though!

  • 1:14 'YES WE CAN' ...

    1:26 BAM BAM BAM!!

  • First of all if you paid $99 when this first came out you got seriously ripped off, lol. What a classic game from the GOLDEN AGE of pc games. Back when game stores had pc games a plenty on they're shelves, With the FULL size boxes too. This game came with a full size poster a huge manual packed with info and a few other things I cant remember. This was truly and awesome game when it came out! Game companys today are so bloated and corporate they have forgotten how games used to be. GOOD TIMES!

  • @censoredstreets Agree totally. PC gaming died the day PC games went into DVD cases and looked just like the console games sitting next to them, making customers feel there was no difference.

  • Man, after all these years I remember all the dialogue from the introduction!

  • we need Crusader No Remorse movie : )

  • @adtu21 Hell yeah that would be awesome, but I want to play the part of the Silencer!!

  • Oh man I loved playing both this game and No Regret. Classics both of them.

  • Nice game. Payed 99$ for it when it came out. I give it an 8.5/10. There were some things i didn't like about it like not being able to reconfigure your keys. i wish they would come out with an FPS version of this game. BTW loved the synthesized music in this game. Long live classic gaming!

  • The whole idea of an "IPS" (Isometric Perspective Shooter" was something never before seen... Last i tried the game i was rahter young, couldn't really make out much of it since it was so different.

  • 1:51 So badass. I loved how they showed him taking out the robot even as a kid playing this.

  • Also, I remember loving the character 'Weasel' in the crew quarters. He was the nutty arms dealer. He was so funny, some of the things he said cracked me up!

  • great music!

  • I LOVED these games. Awesome music/sound effects, excellent story, and superb graphics. I was gutted when I was no longer able to run them on my newer pc.

Luckily I did record the theme tunes to a disc so I can still play that!

  • You can still play them on a newer PC under the current version of DOSBox.

  • I rebuilt my old K6-300 PC JUST so I could play Crusader: No Remorse.

Now I can play it in DosBox, using a burned ISO image of my game disk.

It plays just fine on my Core2 Quad 2.5 ghz Win 7 PC. :D

  • Get Dos-Box to play them again... and yes, it does work for me ! Both No Remorse & No Regrets work on my pc

  • But the pc I play games on is not online. I am online with a laptop which cant play games. Could i download dosbox and put onto disc so i can install to my pc?

  • @admiraldma Try DOSBox

  • @admiraldma Get DosBox

  • @admiraldma DOSBox man!

  • This and the other Crusader games had some of the greatest (and meanest) ways to kill.

  • The names of the 2 silencers that get killed.

    Anton Zurovek

    Marcus Vittek

Nice reference to the producers of the game.

  • The intro music sounds like Terminator.

I had to use boot disks to play this game when it came out. Then I got 16MB of RAM. =)

  • @matthubing hehe i had that problem too but bootdisks made other games work too

  • yup it`s connected with wing commander ... the WEC is the government before the Terran Confederation, which was formed in 2416 ... I liked the Crusader games a lot, and it`s damn pity, that they never released a third part :/

  • More games need spider bombs.

  • I am a fan of this game, i want to play it again and again like before.... this game is so amazing !

  • apparently this game series is connected to wing commander and system shock o.0

  • Actually, I'd love to see it as a first person like in System Shock in spite of the difficulties regarding to the movements of the character. I can't imagine how those rolls would look like in a FP game, lol

  • Does anyone know how to get this running on XP or above? I just dug out my copies (The Resistance Manual is funny as hell now, lol) and have been trying to get it up and running for almost 2 days with no progress :\

Neuromancer didn't give me this much trouble!

  • Have you installed the newest version of dosbox? When you mount your game directory in dosbox, you also have to mount the cd drive too for Crusader to operate.

  • lol, I completely forgot. How the hell I managed that, I have no idea. It's even an option on D-Fend.

I was refering to the cut scenes specifically. Thanks for the reminder :)

  • If i remember good, this is the first and last time you hear the crusader speak ^^ Though i never got to play the 2nd game..

  • The two silencers that are with the protagonist are the ones speaking.

  • Wop sorry for late reply. 1.20: "I've got a bad feeling about this", the silencer who says this is the one who dives out of the way.

  • Huh, I've always thought it was the guy on the right who says that. It sounds like his voice, to me at least.

  • This is a fantastic game, part of my childhood. I need to get a copy of this game and complete this and no regret again!

  • The cool thing is - when the robot is lying on the ground (before the silencer destroys it), you can see in the robots HUD top left: '' Downloading.. Download complete.. Transmission complete '' JUST before it gets destroyed. Which means somebody now knows that the Silencer went rogue/on revenge.

At one point in the game it becomes clear that theres a mole in the resistance because of this. Very nicely done if you ask me. Excellent game.

  • So many ways to kill your enemy. Loads of fun melting them, vaporizing them, blowing them to chunks...etc.

  • He he he, that's right. There were really some outstanding weapons like the freezer and that other one that started to skin you off and then the flesh and in the end only the bones left. Really very nasty.

  • Ah, yes, the 'pick-ya-bones-clean'. Second only to the faulty teleporter in terms of graphic and presumably painful death. The latter melted you.

  • @Ceranimis

I'd love to see Crusader as FPS. The problem would be the rolls but it could be funny.

  • @MOCoutinho I think i could see how to get round that.

    Three or so options.

Slow motion acrobatic moves, such as rolls; When rolling out from cover you have bullet time in first person for the duration of the roll.

Try and make it an awesome feature, like the slides in Far-cry 2.

Have context sensitive third person mode: Switch to first person the moment you draw your weapon. Third person when you want to jump from platform to platform over a pool of goop.

    That kinda thing.

  • Forget Wing Commander, should've been Crusader : The Movie.

    Would've rocked you senseless!

And I dare say, I think Tony Zurovek would've been just as good a producer/director as Chris Roberts.

  • NO FUCKIN DOUBT

  • Great to see it again and refresh memories of good old times :D. And finally with audio, I didn't have sound card in my PC back then :)

  • I always loved the theme song. The one that plays on the main menue.

  • that robot that shoots at the three guys looks like that robot from robo cop

  • I can't even begin to tell you how wank the master chief is compared to the silencer.

I'll sum it up with this though...

The master chief shoots purple and blue hopping alien muppets with a gun that couldn't hit the broad side of a barn door

The silencer liquifies fools and melts their skin off without saying a word :)

    End of story!

  • i think crusader is a pretty cool guy. eh melts corporate cops and doesnt afraid of anything.

  • My dad bought this game when I was younger. I loved to play it and I thought Crusader was the coolest. Exspecialy when he blows up the robot with the grenade then shoots him.

  • man this game was sweet. new game now!

  • I think they should make action movie based on Crusader:No Remorse.

  • You are so right!!

  • I agree with you, but only if director won't be Uwe Boll. ;)

  • Argh! It was reply to MokomaSusi's comment.

  • Wow it's from before 1996, because "no regret" is from '96 i think. For not being 3D this rocks. Reminds me of Fallout (leveldesign) and Syndicate (kill effects)...

Btw. If you like red armored troops in battle watch the Syndicate Trailer on my cHannel! =)

  • I've played the original Syndicate and I have to say that game was really cool. I wanted to play Syndicate Wars, but never really got a chance to buy it.

  • one of the best games ever h. yes

  • That last silencer was sick. He knew a plan was going and blew the crap out of that mech.

  • they WERE going to make a movie out of this. Fucking Halo will beat it to the punch. Another movie about a masked cloned soldier. Crusader is a better game and would be a better movie.

  • this was EASILY my favorite 2 games in the word. No regret and No Remorse... remember Jassica16 was it? I'm STILL waiting to see what happens to WEC. Fallout and fallout 2 close second. Man where do the times go.. 23 and I'm yearning for the old Dos games. win3.1 - win 95 era gamers still rock hardest

  • I'm 26 and I also think that Win 95 games rocked the socks off. Origin made some great games such as the Wing Commander series and the Crusader series.

  • While I played the Halo games 1 and 2 and own the second one, I think the Silencer is a much better hero than the Master Chief.

  • loved the crusader games but really the Silencer was just another silent main char, the master chief he actualy talked so he kinda had a personality so he sorta wins out, even tho the Silencer is a cool concept

  • You got a point about the Master Chief there. I personally believe that the player can imagine what the Silencer's personality since they are the one playing it. That's just my opinion. :)

  • I loved both this game and No Regret both were freakin sweet

  • Its one of my absolute favorites... beneath Fallout 2... games of today just suck... and I'm just 20 years old :-D

  • Some games of today are just copies of one another. Too bad Origin isn't around that much anymore.

  • one of the best games i ever played.

forgett all this new games with super gfx crap =P

this game was just pure fun, the gameplay and the story were awesome!

hope we finally get a 3rd part :(

  • Yes, back when graphics were not the Number one thing in a game.

    This game is great.

  • Nowadays most people won't even play a game unless it has good graphics. Graphics don't make the game!

  • No. But they do seem to help with a players emersion in a game. take GOW for the 360. Without the stunning visuals, the game itself would not have drawn me into it as it did.

Still you are correct. Gameplay is ALWAYS more important than graphics.

I wish a third crusader game came out on X-box live arcade, or Virtual consol !

  • I have to agree with you there as well. However with certain games such as Fear, The Suffering I and II, Resident Evil Series, and the Halo series, the graphic enhance the mood of the game. One good game that I can tell that didn't have the greatest graphics, but had great visuals is Rogue Tropper. Check out that game, it's really good.

  • one of the best classic of the 90s.

    Boba Fett rules!! XD

i can never get bored playing this every year to remind myself of the good old days.

  • This game ruled. I still have the CD somewhere; dug it up recently, but forgot where I put it. Now I gotta find it!

  • Classic stuff right here.

  • holy shit this game was fucking awesome

  • ich könnte weinen :'(

remember old good days. I love this game

  • this wouldve been a great game but i couldnt get it to work on my computer. and that was almost a decade ago

  • The best PS game EVER!

  • Best of the bests. :)

  • Damn, didn't think this oldie would be posted. Thanks for sharing.
