Nice Jardni arowana i think. The tank seems a little small though. Oh well fish grows as big as it can the size tank you gave them so it should be fine
First off, how big do you think my tank is? Secondly, you want to flag it? Go ahead, what would that do and how would you do that? Thirdly, learn some grammar, the correct grammar is "this" not "these". Thanks!
The tank does look a bit small. The ideal tank footprint for asian aros would be about 8'x3' because they can potentially grow to almost 3' long and they aren't very flexible so they can have difficulty turning around in smaller tanks. But yours seems to be healthy and doesn't look stunted at all, so I wouldn't worry about it.
@jonathank18 Way to tear that jackass apart. What a mook! I want one really bad. How much for an Arrowana? And are there different types of Arrowana (some better than others; perhaps an Arrowana that likes to be touched much like yours)
thats about one of the most amazing things I've seen while keeping fish, and I've added this video as a favorite. But I do gotta say that fish is to big for that tank, you should upgrade to a custom tank if at all possible. That is incredible though
I know some fish like to have human attention, but too much fish petting will take off the protective slime that fish have. Now with a big fish like that it shouldn't matter but with smaller fish you might need to control yourself :P
You shouldn't pet the Jardini like that, If you destroy the slime coat on the fish, it will allow parasites like Ich to penetrate the body.....but that is a nice fish tho......
Beautiful Arowana or Aruanas, I had a couple that where well into the two foot long mark, I had them in a 1500 gallon lucite tank and well covered, actually used a pool sand filter and green house lighting, they lived a long time and where as this one very friendly... Made me miss having them...
Beautiful fish, though I'm not such the tank is big enough for the arrowana even with the many gallons it had.
Keeping an arrowana is pretty difficult, having one THAT size truly takes experience. If you accidently starle one, they can actually SHATTER the tank if they swam right into it. I heard it happened to an person who had an 18 inch arrowana. The tank had arylic glass that was 1/2 an inch thick.
i love your rtg jon how big was it when you first had it?and how long did it take for the arow to come to you .....im impressed i have just bought two rtg 6in
Not to be an ass...but you DO know that petting fish like that rubs off the protective slime coating that they have, right? Maybe a Lab Retirever is more suited for your "petting" tendencies and you should get one.
u are one brave mother fucker is that a jardini.its huge and i heard jardini are the most aggressive but it seems like that one is well trained. good jobe most of took a lot of courage.
Silver Arrowana's are the least aggressive in my opinion. i use to have a Silver (about 20 inches long) 2 Australian golds (about 16 inches) in one tank. Silver one you could pet if you put your hand in there while he wasn't looking and let him swim to you by himself. if not they'd all snap at anything that touched the top of the water.
this one has never jumped at all, we've had 4 silver arrowana's and ALL have jumped out at some point in time, we had a silver one that was 33 inches long and when that thing hit the floor, it seriously sounded like someone was on the ground with a seizure
WOW ! DUDE IS THAT AN ASIAN AROWANA? OR JARDINI? THAT'S SO CRAZY I CAN'T BELIEVE THAT YOU CAN PET IT!? DAMN! THAT'S CRAZY FILL ME IN WHERE DID YOU GET IT? AND HOW LONG DID YOU HAVE IT FOR?
arrowana's won't become aggressive if you don't feed it live food which includes blood worms. this arrowana accidently bit and held onto one of the parrot fishes before and realized that he wasn't supposed to eat it and let it go
thats dope how it lets U touch em, mine used to try & bite me!!

an uncle of mine had a silver arrowana, around this size.
It lets him, and only him, touch it.

is a 175 tank big enough for that fish or is it still growing and need another
shetbag11 4 years ago
well it really depends on the tanks footprint. To house 1 arowana you need a tank of at least 6 x 2. (in feet) (length x depth)
sprocketbomb 4 years ago
i think it stopped growing, i haven't really stopped to look at it lately
